Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We were Impressed We recently had occasion to stay at this property both at the start and end of a 12-day driving trip throughout the southern states. We were very pleasantly surprised at the overall great experience during both stays. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful, the room furnishings and bedding seemed to all be brand new - very clean and comfortable. The property's lobby and external appearance were both very pleasant and clean, and the free breakfast was wonderful. This property also has a great location, an easy on/off to I-75 and there is a great number of restaurants in all price ranges very close by. We have had other good experiences at Holiday Inn Express properties, but this is the first time we really felt we needed to put it down in writing. We will definitely return whenever it fits our future travel plans. May 14, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Price, Comfortable Room, Small, Busy Elevator :) Pros: Great front desk service, comfortable bed, perfect for a one night stay in GNV. There is always consistency with HIE, that is one reason we are repeat customers. Cons: The elevator is small, and there appears to be only one of them. When the place is crowded, it is faster to take the stairs. Parking is a bit of a challenge, too, if the hotel is near capacity. April 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Given a room I did not reserve I was told that even though I had made my reservation a couple of months in advance that I had chosen an option that gave me the last room available when I checked in. That happened to be a SMOKING handicapped king size bed room. Nothing against smokers, but I don't like being around smoke. Everything smelled like smoke and 4 days after the trip my suitcase and clothes I didn't even wear STILL smell like smoke. In addition to this we did not have access to a refrigerator or microwave which I thought were standard amenities in hotel rooms in 2013. I was very very disappointed with this stay and don't know if I will stay here again. April 12, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Morning breakfast buffet We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very accomodating and gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner. The pancake machine was really nice and the pancakes were delicious. The only drawback to this property was only one elevator, we were on the fourth floor so we did not use the steps. April 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Clean and Excellent Staff/Customer Service This was our first time staying @ this Holiday Inn Express in Gainesville. We were greeted as we walked in and spoken to by name. We received a call once settled in our room and asked if everything was to our satisfaction. They also mentioned that there were warm cookies @ the desk to please come down and have one. We were given 2 bottles of water in the room. The room was extremely clean. There was no dirt around the edges of the room, which really impressed me. The TV was small for the room, but some of the channels were in HD which made my husband happy. He also was able to get on the internet which he liked. The breakfast in the morning was good, predictable for HIE. We will definitely stay @ this HIE again. March 4, 2013

Other hie not only great us upon arrival as priority club members, but give us a complimentary bag with goodies, and upgrade the reservation to a suite, all this without asking. Our experience at your hotel was like a regular customer. The rate was a little high compared to others we have registered with direct to the hotel, no 1 800 number. We always stay at the Gainsville Hie when we vacation in Florida. Our stay was great and enjoyed it very much. My comments are not negative, only to be as constructive criticsm. February 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very convenient to Shands Medical at University of Florida I selected this motel because it is convenient to the Shands Medical Hospital at the University of Florida where I was scheduled for medical tests. It is also convenient to I-75, being at the intersection with Archer Road. It is directly next door to a Cracker Barrel restaurant if you will be there long enough for meals other than breakfast. The breakfast that is free with the room is good and there is good variety. You do not hear noise from the Interstate in your room. I have used this motel more than once and expect to use it again in the future. The only negative was that the finish on the bottom of the bathtub had been repainted and the paint was coming off in sheets. It could be a falling hazard. Be cautions of this possible problem. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beware of teenage girls soccer teams The hotel was fine. Unfortunately, a large group of disruptive teen, pre teen girls and families were there. Loud, rude and parents seemed oblivious to mayhem. Running up and down hallways until late. Hotel has to be more aggressive in stopping rude behavior. Used to more relaxation and quiet. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Needs Customer Service Training This hotel is clearly in operation for the convenience of its' employees. Rude service, dirty room, inability to accommodate even the smallest of requests without an argument from the staff. The staff is unable to communicate effectively with guests due to the desire to prove they are right and guests are wrong. This behavior was displayed from the desk clerks to the asst GM.
