Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and excellent service The weather conditions were cold and wet, but the hotel more than made up for that. The room was very clean and quiet, and the mattress and pillows felt like home. The staff was excellent in providing requested information about the island and the breakfast was very good. There were plenty of choices and everything was hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Galveston. November 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Galveston weekend Very enjoyable stay, typical of most of my Holiday Inn experiences. Friendly, helpful staff, great room (same one three years in a row now - annual event). Good service, good breakfast, good parking, overall good facility. I'll be back next year, same time, same place, and they'll probably put me in the same room. I think the price was a little higher than it needed to be, but many of the hotels on the island are high priced for the Lone Star Rally weekend. November 11, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Good this week- Bad the next I always leave a review for any hotel I stay at. This place is hot and cold...all the time. One year ago, clean fresh rooms and Zombies working the front desk. This time the room smelled musky, moldy. Not sure if the carpet was not dried after cleaning or the balcony door had allowed the room to get wet from blowing rain. either way, it was nasty smelling But the staff was great. it just seems like the managers can not get it all right at any one time. From what I see and the exchange of staff comments I believe that the same people own the property next door and I will never stay there again. I left the HI Resort up the road because of higher prices, now I'm thinking maybe the difference is worth it. Have 2 more trips to Galveston this year.... will be staying at IHG properties, just not this one. Was not recognized as a rewards Member at check in when I ask of points or a bottle water I got that "deer in headlight look".... that was a negative on staff but all else was good for personnel.
