I stayed in a one bedroom suit with jetted tub in the living area for 2 nights. I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express Hotels in Canada and Europe. This is by far the best and most comfortable one.
The decor is new and modern, rate is reasonable, room is spacious and clean with 42" LCD TV in both the bedroom and living area. Hot buffet breakfast has enough choice for my purpose, and the dining area is spacious and comfortable.
Most of all, Susan at the front desk was extremely helpful in showing me the room and making the room available for me at late night when I had to switch from another hotel the room which I had booked was in a condition that my partner did not want to spend a night in.
I'd like to thank Susan again for all she had done to make my stay in Gananoque unforgettable.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 evening staff not competent or mean spirited???. first initial A
checked in and we were not happy with room type, asked clerk to change rooms, she said we have the last room that was available. we checked holiday inn website, and every room configuration was available, clerk said that there was one room left but it was the same type that we had, I then returned to my room physically brought down my computer to show her that every room type was available, clerk did not believe my computer until I actually showed her that it truly was the holiday inn website.!! only then did she say that there was indeed ONE and ONLY ONE other room available and that I could have that. this of course was very time consuming and stressful!
then a tour bus arrives and a bus load of people check in for one night!!!!!
otherwise the hotel is excellent, the day manager very helpful and gracious, the breakfast woman terrific

We were very pleasantly made to feel welcome and there was nothing that the staff wouldn't do to accommodate us.
Patty at the desk always greeted us with a smile and was more than happy to answer any question and to go to any length to fulfill our request.
The room was also very clean and satisfied our needs more than adequately.
We would definitely stay at this Holiday Inn Express another time.

When my wife and I arrived there was no mention of us being
Priority Club members. We could have walked in off the road and
the service would have been the same .... average
Why am I a Priority Club member if there is nothing in it for me.
and
I was never asked what car I drove, sign a registration form
or anything .... just give a credit card
Not a very warm, welcoming start to our stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BusinessTraveller354 Repeat Visitor to this HIE
I always return to this HIE for my business trips because it is convenient (right off highway), close to local restaurants and chain restaurants (Tim Horton's, McDonald's), and staff is always very helpful. On this trip, HIE had updated their TV system and I encountered issues with the sound on my TV. It took about half an hour for Sharon and I to figure out how to fix the internal controls, which was annoying, but Sharon was very friendly and you could tell she tried very hard to figure out the system. This HIE tries to recognize my PC membership and on occasions, I have been lucky enough to get an upgrade to a suite. Checkout was easy-peasy as usual - receipt was slipped under my door. On this stay, I left really early, so the breakfast wasn't fully ready when I went in to dine. Not a big deal, and I will certainly return again. Keep up the good work!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Marce Our 55th Anniversary
My wife and I celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary on February 8/13. We enjoy the casino scene and often go to Gananoque to gamble. We decided on this very special occasion, to stay at the Holiday Inn and splurge on a 2 room suite complete with Jaccuzy. February 8/13 will stay on our minds not only because it's our anniversary, but because it was the worst snow storm of the year and the highways were clogged with many accidents, many very serious. While it took us twice the amount of time travelling because of the conditions, we were determined to complete our trip which we did. We were very impressed with our accomodations and the friendlyness of the staff. The only thing missing is that the hotel does not have a dining room and we had to venture out for dinner. In the end, everything turned out perfect incuding winning a sizable jackpot at the casino. We would not hesitate staying there again.
