I have stayed at HIE several times but never have I encountered such incompetence as when booking and checking in at this hotel. Management had no interest in helping rectify the situation. The breakfast was the worst of any HIE breakfast I have ever had. The cinnamon rolls were hard and old. The air-conditioning was old and so loud that it sounded like a generator running in the room every time it kicked on. The refrigerator had something nasty stuck to the front of it when we checked in. Yuck! I spend a lot of time traveling for my job and I will NEVER stay here again.

The internet service was very slow. I was very surprise the room did not have a mircowave. I assumed all Holiday Inn Express Hotel rooms were equipped with mircowave.

The biggest roach I have ever seen crawled up on our bed. We checked out at 2:30am. The clerk said he wished there was something he could do. Hahaha!!! Be careful. Paying money for roaches.

I am a Platinum Rewards Club member and frequently travel to Raleigh. I typically stay at another HI property in the area but selected this location because the daily rate was lower. In a nutshell, you get what you pay for! This property is average, not great. They don't acknowledge platinum members in any special manner, they don't offer a weekly customer appreciation event (like many other hotels I visit do), gym is outdated and last but not least I was placed in a room next to the smoking section on the first floor. It did not appear that the hotel was fully booked, so it is perplexing that I was given this room.

Have stay here many times over the last few years, never once have I been offered an up grade or been given an AARP discount. Rooms have recently been refurbished, and the breakfast is always good. The problem I have is with the front desk and the customer service from them. This was my 67th night in the HIE chain this year so I have plenty of other places to compare with. The night before was spent in HAVELOCK, NC and they were unbeliveable with their service....
Maybe next time I'll drive a few more miles to the next place,
