Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not very Happy My daughter works for IHG that is why we have stayed in several as we travel verus other hotels. We have always been happy before, however this time we were left with a very bad impression!! Our daughter made the reservation online using her discount as an employee, when we approched the front desk there was no one there (realize it was 10:00 pm but still think this was odd) sign on the desk said to go over to chair in lobby and by the lamp pick up phone. Girl who anserwed phone asked if we were in the hotel now - if I was calling from her phone where else would I be? She came up and I told her the reservation was online as my daughter was an employee, she called her manager to see if they could honor it and was told yes as long as it was done online. When she pulled it up, she said it says STD room - and I can't override that code. I was speaking to my daughter on the phone at the time and Icily said can I talk to you daughter as they use ophera also correct? I handed the phone over and they spoke. The next thing I knew she said tell your daughter to go back in and re-book and pick another room not a STD as those are ghost rooms for us they don's exist. So my daughter did and picked a king, front desk agent said she could override the price and put in the employee price that way, turns out she couldn't. She called her manager, and it took him over 45 minutes to call her back (while we were standing there along with another couple behind us#, she also took a personal call during this time frame. When he did call her back he told her they could not honor the employee discount as they were almost at full occupancy. We would have to book a regular room, which we did at that point using our military discount, however why didn't they just tell us that to begin with!!! Also, the shower ceiling was molded all the way around the top, the breakfast was horrible #almost like it had been reheated several days in a row), there was no shampoo in the room and the lotion was opened and half empty. Being in the military we travel a lot, we have seen and stayed in some bad places before, this was one of them! August 12, 2015
