Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Barking dogs kept us awake My husband and I stay primarily at HI when we travel for leisure. We asked for rooms away from others, if possible, because we are light sleepers. We were told we had 1 "neighbor", the other room was vacant. We were awakened by the sound of a baby screaming and dogs barking. We are grandparents so certainly understand the crying baby in the middle of the night. The hotel seemed to be empty...saw no one in the elevators and the parking lot was half full. Hearing the dogs barking did not provide for an enjoyable stay or a restful night. December 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good things sometimes come from bad thingd Upon arrival at the property I found my fridge was not working properly. The staff quickly got me into another room and settled in. At a hotel my experience is not what happens when there is no issue but rather how well are issues handled if they do happen. The staff here seems to be focused on guest service and comfort and their actions proved it to me. The ladies that assisted me were named Michelle and Charlene I believe. Enough said. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express just one night. Booked two rooms. It was a pleasant stay, clean rooms, good customer service, comfortable beds. Breakfast could have been better. They called me on the day of my reservation and asked if I would be willing to switch my two queen room reservation to a king and I could so I agreed to the requested change and they offered to discount the reservation for the inconvenience, making our stay even more affordable. Even though the area near the hotel was a bit industrial I never felt out of place, unsafe or uneasy. Easy access to our event in Charlotte. Positive experience at the HIE. December 7, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Bed and Great Service with one big flaw at Breakfast Everything about the hotel was great with the exception of one morning breakfast. At 9:14 am, my Daughter wanted eggs and the attendant refused in a very rude way that it was 15 minutes from closing and she would not make more scrambled eggs. She began closing down the breakfast area. That is the only flaw in the entire stay. I felt she could have accommodated my Daughter - I would have made her a scrambled egg had I been in charge of the breakfast area. It would not have been too much trouble - that is true customer service. My Daughter reported it to two of the desk clerks immediately. . December 3, 2014
