Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Gaylord This past weekend we traveled to Gaylord, MI and stayed at Holiday Inn Express Gaylord, MI. If you are traveling to Gaylord this is a a hotel we highly recommend. The hotel and staff are great! We enjoyed using the pool. hot tub and workout area. The rooms are clean and very update in décor. The deluxe room with 2 queen beds has a sink area, microwave and small fridge. the AM breakfast setup and food selections were really nice. It was busy staff offers a tray for to go breakfast if you prefer that. We have stayed at many hotels throughout the USA and this is a very nice property. August 25, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved our night My family and I wandered into the Holiday Inn Express in Gaylord, Michigan at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th, hoping for a reprieve from the road. We were heading east hoping to drive all night to our home in Toronto, Ontario, but found that it would be just too tiring to drive another 6 hours. I was greeted at the front desk by Amanda who advised me that unfortunately there was no availability at the Inn. Apparently there was a Farm Fest in Gaylord and everything was booked. She did, however, proceed to phone five or six other hotels in Gaylord but with no success. I think she could see the dark circles emanating below my eyes and then very kindly offered to call other hotels as she put it "a little farther down the road". She then proceeded to phone long distance to hotels in Grayling and then in Timberlea, but again, everything was booked. I thanked her so much for her assistance and then left the hotel. While I was discussing the situation with my husband in the parking lot of the HIE, Amanda came rushing out of the front door of the hotel and advised that she just received a cancellation and would have a room if we still wanted it. We were overjoyed and, of course, booked the room!!! We just wanted to say thank you so much to Amanda for her dedication to weary travelers and saving us from a long, dark drive ahead. I would like to say that even if Amanda was unable to secure us a room at the HIE, she went above and beyond any hotel we have ever had the opportunity to stay. Staff like this need to be rewarded and we hope you are able to recognize Amanda for making our last night of a family vacation a very memorable one. It is because of valuable employees like Amanda that we will include the Holiday Inn on our itinerary for future business/vacation travel. August 21, 2014
