Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice staff and clean hotel I travel quite often, I spend at least 50 nights each year in hotel rooms. Most of these are in northern Michigan - I love my beautiful state and having a job that allows me to see so much of it. I have stayed in Gaylord several time and the people are all so friendly. This was my first stay at the Holiday Inn Express - I immediately noticed how very clean the entire hotel was. I did not find one area that was neglected, no hidden dust bunnies :) The staff were all very friendly, this will be my new go to hotel in Gaylord. Great Stay. February 7, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Service The gal working the front desk must be related to the owner. No one would hire someone with a zero personality like she has. I was greated by a stare, no conversion what so ever. I told her I wanted to check in, gave her my name, no response, and was given the registeration to fill out that was highlighted in blue, again no conversion. She did ask if I need the internet password, and was given that along with my room key. No conversion on best way to get to the room, nor was their any information on breakfeast in the morning. I would suggest sending this person to charm school or transfering her to the maid service to keep out of the public areas. January 22, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Only one staff person at front desk and pool out of order I booked this hotel so I could do some skiing with friends nearby. We were looking forward to being able to come back after skiing and relax and warm up in the hot tub. The pool was out of order, and even though the hot tub was still working we were not allowed to use it. There was also only one person working the front desk, so check in and inquiries were very slow as she would answer the phone even though there was a line. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but overall only an average (if not slightly below average) stay. My status with priority club was also not recognized. January 2, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Old with a new set of sails They did their best to try and update this old hotel. The rooms are clean, mattresses are fair, linens aren't as nice as the new HI properties (scratchy), bathrooms are nicely updated (some of the showers have soft spots in the tub), some rooms have newer A/C units, common area carpets are really worn, great internet. Best choice in Gaylord since there isn't really anything else around. Pricey for the quality of room you get compared to other locations. November 7, 2012
