Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Brand to Trust But Hit or Miss Somtimes In general, I really enjoy the value and quality from the various HIE's. As far as the quality of customer care, breakfast area, and personnel attitudes, it's hit or miss depending on the location, but typically every stay is consistently great. Unfortunately, recently I had an unusually poor experience at the Jackson, MS location while trying to use my new IHG rewards perks which I signed up for ahead of time to specifically use on that trip. Staff including management seemed to not care what best price guarantee meant as published online even when I showed them or how to even apply the points from my stay since they said they did it that evening at check in (but come to find out they did not on the morning invoice which they charged me the walk in rate for despite my sign up ahead of time). Better training is needed for sure in IHG and customer communication at least. I was treated as if it was my fault that I did not get the points and told to do everything myself online instead of get customer service conveniently at the desk since I was there. By the way, there was no one in line but me and they did not appear to be busy other than chatting to themselves and texting. Completely unimpressed. Otherwise, I generally have a good experience with this brand which I typically seek out for stays - but will never stay at the Jackson one again. There are several other options nearby which I would choose to avoid the rude welcome I received this first and last time. I deal in customer service for a living and was completely appalled by the treatment at the desk by the shift manager. January 7, 2015
