Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reception Desk Personnel Outstanding I have traveled a great deal during the years before my retirement and stayed at hundreds of hotels and motels all across the country and beyond. During that time I have had many very good experiences and been impressed by some very good service. The reception desk personnel here was the very best I have had without exception. The receptionist (Kathy) when I checked in greeted me as well as I've ever been greeted, checked me in quickly and efficiently, and followed up with a telephone call shortly after I was in my room to ask if everything was alright and if I needed anything. Later I found that the commode was plugged and sought to borrow a plunger to unplug it. Instead Kathy called a maintenance man who came to the room and, after having to get different equipment, solved the problem. Within a few minutes after the maintenance man was finished, she called again to be sure everything was alright. I was impressed by the follow up. I was registered for three nights lodging and had breakfast three mornings. Each of the three mornings, a different lady was tending the breakfast area and all were friendly, on task, and a pleasure to talk with. They seemed to care about those of us eating our breakfast, something I have seldom experienced before. I highly recommend this place. In fact, I'll be back in a few weeks and look forward to it. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast Lady I have stayed here at least once a month for the past two years and my day gets off to a great start because the breakfast lady always greets everyone with a huge smile and a warm good morning. I will not be staying here anymore do to circumstances beyond my control and I sure will miss my good morning smile. Kevin January 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by services are excellant, friendly, very efficient I would recommend this HIE to anyone traveling in the Goldsboro area. January 7, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by High Traffic Property, dirty room This HI Express gets a lot of military patronage due to proximity to a base. I was placed in the last available room (suite with a whirlpool tub) at increased cost, despite making the reservation weeks in advance. The room had some brown lumps on the wall (something more than dirt) and the back of the bathroom door obviously needed maintenance. There were stray hairs in shower, but I've decided this is just normal. The cushions on the chair (for the work table in the room) were worn out, making the chair pretty uncomfortable to sit on. That said, The TV, toilet, lights, fridge and heater worked. Coffee, sausage, artificial eggs (poorly prepared) and Cinnamon Rolls were available for breakfast. The breakfast room is crowded, making it difficult to walk through the lobby to the door. December 18, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Worn out bed & worn out hotel I first stayed at this property(as a HIE) 16 years ago - I seriously believe much of the furniture is that old. I hadn't stayed there in a while; and made a "special request" for a firm bed. No such luck - bed was soft and uncomfortable; HVAC unit was extremely noisy & started & stopped with additional noise all night. Planned to stay for 2 nights; but couldn't take it and moved to a nearby property for the 2nd night. I know that this hotel has been thru several renovations; but they didn't address the guests comforts. "Holiday Inn" needs to seriously address this property - it is a prime location in Goldsboro; but it has to be losing out on a lot of business. I - for one -will not be staying there again; and would NOT recommend it. December 4, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No HBO On Monday 19 November, upon arrival at the Holiday Inn Express in Goldsboro, NC I had no audio signal on HBO. All the other channels seem to work fine. I contacted the front desk customer service person who said “Yes, a customer mentioned that to me this morning and the cable company hasn’t fixed it yet.” You are a world known, huge organization, with millions of customers. I can’t believe the local cable company can’t provide you with better service than that? I live in Whiteville, NC. Ten miles from nowhere and I get service within 24 hours. However, I can’t afford HBO. One of the perks that I enjoy about traveling, and staying at your motels is to have a nice HBO movie after a log day at work away from home. I can’t understand why the local Time Warner would not provide you with a better service agreement than this? The employees here are top notch and in no way do I want to bring discredit upon them however, the manager should do a much better job of motivating the local Time Warner to provide the same stellar service provided here at their hotel. Two days without HBO, multiplied by 5 floors of customers, equals? Maybe you can help the management team here with some tips on how to motivate the cable company? November 27, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A/C Rattled All Night When I checked in, people were crowded around the front desk socializing with the staff glancing at my check-in paperwork I had to sign. I didn't appreciate it b/c it stated personal info about me. The staff didn't seem to care that people were gathered all over the desk listening as I stated my name, address, etc... The whole night the control panel to the a/c rattled. I tried to put heavy objects on it, even leaning the chair against it to help stop it but it got worse half way through the night. The people I was traveling with had the same problem. October 29, 2012
