Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by check in I tried 2 x to get a card to open the door to my room (229) on SA, April 19, 2014. The lady at the front desk (blond) was behind in her work (papers littering the front desk). She finally came to my room to open the door with a "master" card, promising to come back with a new room card (key) later. She never came. I kept my room doubt-locked I have stayed in this hotel often -- always a good experience. Not this time!!! April 21, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel I have stayed in this hotel before and I have no hestitation going back again. We left a phone charger while checked out and the manager agrees to mail it back to us. Great customer service. However, the only criticism during this stay is the hotel forgot to clean our room on the second day. We left for visit at 11am and returned at 5:30pm and the room was not cleaned nor replaced with clean towels. It was immediately taken care of after we notified the front desk. March 27, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by noise level was beyond believable I have stayed at this hotel 3 times before, and always had a wonderful stay. This time however was horrible. I was staying at this hotel because my mother was undergoing surgery the next day. We had loud noise from the room above us from about 9:30pm until 2:00am. The noise sounded like children running and jumping on the beds. Being a mother myself I did not complain about the noise at first, thinking the parents were out of the room for a time. However by 11:30pm, I had had more than enough!! I called the front desk and complained. I know I was not the first person to do so because the front desk clerk did not even ask me what room I thought it was or any thing else. After that the noise continued until 2:00am. If this surgery was not so important, we would have checked out then and left. I will think long and hard before I stay at this hotel again!! March 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service! The staff at the Holiday Day Inn were awesome! I stayed for a week and required shuttle service to Genesys Regional Medical Center for clinicals. I am an out of state student and attend University of Michigan-Flint. The staff were very accommodating to me and were very pleasant. The room was comfortable and had a small fridge and microwave. I did not have time to use the pool or weight room however, it appeared clean. February 4, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Above the norm This was my third stay at this hotel for business in the nearby towns. The breakfast ladies are very friendly and the night desk-staff are very helpful. We're impressed, considering the lower price. The first visit (M-F in Aug.) was great. We had our infant twin girls with us, and the staff was very accomodating about letting us wash our bottles in their kitchen. We were only able to use one of their cribs, which was inconvenient but acceptable. The hotel was packed, and the cribs are 1st-come-1st-served after all. The second (T-W in Oct.) was sub-par, but not bad. The elevator was out, and we were on the 2nd floor with a stroller and lots of luggage. I can't blame them for that. They didn't seem to know where the cribs were, so we got (only) one on our last day. The third stay (M-W in Dec.) was the best so far. We actually had a closer Holiday Inn we could've stayed at, but this one was only 20 minutes away, so we chose to stay here for the friendly staff. When booking the stay, we were offered an upgrade to a suite for only $5 more, which was a great idea for making baby-food and spot-cleaning behind the girls. I wish we'd known before it was only $5 more! The girls were sick, but our time there was still relaxing. December 20, 2013

When told it was seven years old I was surprised because it does not look. The staff is very friendly. The price is incredible for the area and the convenience. The assistant manager, Courtney Neely went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and happy with our stay. We also noted how helpful she was to other staff members (helping housekeeping, dining room staff and willingly staying over to cover someone who called in sick). We spent four nights here, Our room was always kept clean and replenished. We will definitely look forward to staying here again. September 25, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Overpriced for the area Was told there were no double queen options when booking, so booked a king suite for $20 extra per night instead. When we got there, they had the double queen, but without the price adjustment. Pool light is on a motion sensor that does not sense at pool level, so the light turns off every 10 minutes. When we complained, they said they had been giving this feedback to management for months. We stayed in our room late one morning and the room was not cleaned at all. They had apples in the lobby and when we took one, the core was rotten. This is already at the top of the price chain for the area and I would expect it to be top notch; the hotel is nice, but the experience was motel like. August 26, 2013

The staff and management have made it most enjoyable - friendly folk who go out of their way to accommodate us. We travel as a large group of classic car owners and attend the famous Back to the Bricks show in Flint for these four days. Saturday morning the lady who provides breakfast arranges to be there for 5:00 a.m. as some of our car owners have to be at their site location by 6:00 a.m. Above and beyond the call of duty. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional service We recently stayed 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express in Grand Blanc. Staff were very helpful and friendly. A staff member opened the pool and exercise room early when we asked to use them one morning. The people cleaning the rooms asked when it would be convenient to clean our room. The staff offered cookies, etc. to our grandchildren. Most importantly, the desk staff offered to mail a charging cord we left in the room to our home address. Our trip was a success since we had an enjoyable stay. August 13, 2013

The nice wide countertop provided enough space for our personal bathroom items. The 2 different lightng options were nice for applying make-up, shaving or a midnight bathroom visit. It was roomy enough, so we weren't knocking elbows on the door or walls when drying off after a shower. August 11, 2013

We did not even have to worry about drinking and driving from a family wedding we were attending, the free shuttle took care of that.....and the driver Mary was both a friendly and sociable person.
