We checked in on our way to the Grand Canyon in mid-January. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Somebody had smoked in the n/s room we reserved and they immediately changed us to another room. It is COLD in January here so the window heat/AC unit was on and it was actually pretty quiet. Only hitch was that we couldn't be upgraded, despite being platinum elite because the better rooms were getting new furniture - maybe next time. A special hat tip to Eustasia [hope I spelled that right] for getting our room straightened out post-haste. Breakfast is the standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast - not luxury but solid and quite tasty. Our room was very clean - my only suggestion would be to put brighter light bulbs in the lamps - this is a common problem in hotel rooms in general, bad enough that I've considered bringing my own so I have enough light to work by!

Not a new hotel but still very comfortable and clean. Great location for visiting the Grand Canyon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast options.

At the Grand Canyon, everyday a mass of people wait to watch the sun set over the Canyon. And then they depart to check into their hotel. This happens everyday. So why was the front desk staff so ill equipped to handle what is an everyday occurrence? I had stayed at this property just one month prior and had an enjoyable experience, prompting me to make another reservation for my visit this time. It could not have been more different - a 20 minute wait to check in. I am a Platinum IHG Rewards member and my room request was not honored. When I went to the room, housekeeping had not cleaned it. Back to the front desk to get another room and when I entered that room it was clean save for one trash can which had not been emptied. It seemed as if hotel management just doesn't have its act together. Difficult to understand as they must anticipate that the check in crowds will assemble just after the sun goes down.

Way too busy to enjoy the breakfast; typicall HIE fare....OK, but not the best
Disappointing overall; obviously it's the location that matters....that is great for seeing Grand Canyon

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night during our road trip through several National parks in late December. The hotel was completely full and there were a lot of people in line when we checked in, however, agents at the front desk were doing a great job of getting people in quickly. My sister had made a mistake when booking her room, but the manager was able to assist us to get her squared away. The front desk staff and manager were so friendly and courteous and just great! As a Platinum member, I appreciate being acknowledged and given that "little something extra". Our room was not in the main building and was nice and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I even had a bag with water and snacks waiting for me in the room. They even have two breakfast areas, which is great because we all know how annoying it is when 6 people are trying to make toast at the same time... I would definitely recommend this place to anyone travelling to the Grand Canyon.

1st impressions mean a lot. After driving all day and arriving at 3:15 we were told our room wasn't ready. I get that this was during the holiday season and there was a spike in activity for the Grand Canyon area but it couldn't have been a shocker to the management team when they knew they were sold out?
I don't think they care about loyality programs at this location as well. As a platinum member i was told there were no upgrades available for the entire stay and that my room wouldn't be ready till after 4pm. Meanwhile the guy next to me checks right in with keys in hand. He wasn't even a Priority Club member? Seems like they would attempt to make the Platinum members rooms available 1st? Typically I don't care about the upgrades because I travel alone for business most the year. From time to time when you have your family with you it would be nice to have a little extra room.
Location can't be beat. It's right by the park with easy access. if you have a ATT wifi card bring it. Hotel internet is worthless at most times. I contribute this to heavy usage i guess but either way it was bad.
Kids indoor pool is a nice touch.
Breakfast team did an exceptional job under the demanding circumstances. I take my hat off to that crew. Always friendly and displayed a "can do" attitude every morning.

great access to the grand canyon, the amenities for our twin grandsons were perfect. Three TVs in a two bedroom suite; variety of restaurants near by; comfortable chairs & beds.

We went there in December, it was very cold outside and the A/C system is very bad, you just have High/Low Hot/Cold.
We didn't sleep very well because it was too hot at the beginning then too cold then back too old etc...

Hard to connect to internet through the hotel wifi. Also, cellular 3G/ 4G data service is very slow irrespective of a service provider. So, if you really need internet during your stay, please make sure before checking in.
Also, the restrooms are very tiny to even close the door while getting inside.
But, rooms were maintained clean for us. Breakfast lady was very welcoming even though there were lots of people on the days we stayed in this place.

Excellent value, terrific location. Literally 5 minute drive to South Rim entrance. Terrific breakfast, complete with a pancake machine. Highly recommend slight upgrade to the suites -- lots more room, separate breakfast area that's never crowded.

Everything was great. Only negative was that the wifi was very weak in our room which was at the end of the hall. But we just walked down the hall toward the front lobby and all our emails came in.

The beds were very comfortable. Generally 1/2 of the front desk staff was friendly. The other 1/2 was disinterested. The housekeeping staff was ABSOLUTELY terrible. Good breakfast and atmosphere. Very close to the GC park.

For the price expected better. Mattress was not great. Sheets were cotton/poly blend and were pilling. Poly blend sheets make me itch and after 3 nights my skin was really irritated. On the plus side breakfast was excellent! Best free breakfast I've ever seen, it included more than just empty carbs.

This hotel suited our needs perfectly. We slept 2 adults and 2 kids in the one room making it excellent value. Good heating in the room. Beds comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was enough to fill us up and get us going to our early flight over the Canyon. If you are going to be out sightseeing all day then this is the perfect place to book.

My favorite part of the hotel was the staff. Very friendly and helpful. They seem to really love their jobs. The location was perfect as well. So close to all we wanted to see and do. Reasonable rate and nice accommodations. We would stay again.

The beds were comfortable. Our room was next to an ice machine, but after 10 pm no-one came for ice so that was nice. Upon arrival, found a dirty towel on the back of the bathroom door. Deliveries come to the lobby and twice there were boxes and boxes of items such as toilet paper surrounding the lobby. The cleaning staff places the dirty vacuum cleaner on top of their carts which is also on top of the clean towels! If you enter the door to the hotel from the parking lot to the right of the hotel you'll notice that anyone can enter the hotel as the card key reader door is always open. Expected more for the price. Stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in Surprise, Arizona the following two nights and had a great experience.

We were taken back by the kindness of all the staff. We were there for a few days. Each time we passed any member of the staff, they always greeted us and made sure we were comfortable! Elizabeth from the front desk was a joy to work with and we really appreciated her kindness! Would definitely recommend this place!

Our family in I had 2 nights at HolidayInn Our experience was great love the indoor heated pool Brks in the morning and friendly staff really comfy staying and only 5min. drive to south/west entrance of Grand Canyon which was perfect also only couple feet away from Visitor Center stores and gas station which was great I would defiantly recommend staying here plus i would stay again ")

Had a great stay at the hotel. Enjoyed the complimentary upgrade which was given unprompted by the front desk staff. The room was very clean and had a very comfortable bed which we appreciated after hiking for 4+ hours in the Grand Canyon.
