It was hard to find this hotel, since on a side road by Meijers! but we were greeted warmly and received a treat package.
The room, pool and breakfast was great!
We were advised we qualified to leave our car and could utilize van service to and from the airport. On our return, we had an issue with pickup from the hotel. We were let stranded, since van driver had already gone for the night. So had an unexpected cab fair expense and extra wait time to obtain a cab to get our car.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Catservant Great service
I used the park-and-fly, arriving the day before my very early flight the next day. The room was very nice. The shuttle driver was prompt and friendly, both when taking me to the airport, and when picking me up a week later. I was very pleasantly surprised when I got back to the hotel to find the snow brushed off my car! That was above and beyond, in my opinion. I will definitely use the park-and-fly again whenever I have an early flight out of Grand Rapids.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JoBa A relaxing and comfortable place to stay
Our stay's have always been great at this particular Holiday Inn Express. We travel with our dog who loves staying in the room with us! The staff have always been personable and helpful. Our room has always been a clean, comfortable, and relaxing place to stay. The fridge and microwave have come in handy and are always clean. We utilized the pool and hot tub during one of our trips and found them to be clean and refreshing. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ruinedmyNewYearsEve Disorganized!!!
We made reservations for New Years Eve including the shuttle service, and convinced 4 other couples to do the same. Check in was fine, room was clean, then we had to reserve a spot on the shuttle to take us downtown. The desk clerk gave us a shuttle voucher and told us that we needed to show that to be able to take the shuttle downtown, as well as get the shuttle back to the hotel. As soon as we got on the shuttle, the driver, who we also found out was the general manager of the hotel, took our vouchers and said that we wouldn't need them to get back on. Well, at 12:30 am there were probably close to 50 people waiting for 2 9 passenger shuttles to get back to the hotel. We ended up having to wait until 1:30 am to fight our way onto the shuttle, which had 17 passengers on it!! The general manager again was the driver and kept telling us that the problem was that so many people booked rooms with 6-8 people in a room and the shuttle service was for 2 per room. Well, if she wouldn't have
taken the vouchers from everyone, and those that did get a voucher had to show one to get back on the shuttle, there probably wouldn't have been such a problem. We were very upset when we got back to the hotel, and the desk clerk said that there was nothing that they were going to do about it, we booked it with the offer of a shuttle, we actually paid extra for the shuttle, so it wasn't an offer. It was so disappointing, and I felt really bad that we had convinced 8 of our friends to stay as well. Next year we may have to consider a different hotel that isn't affiliated with that General Manager!!!!!! An apology would have been nice, but instead she had a mouth full of excuses!!!

CheerdadMICHIGAN Excellent
Everything at this hotel was nice, from the lobby to the swimming pool. The only downside to that was you could smell the chlorine as soon as you entered the hotel and could hear the obnoxious screams of the dozens of unsupervised children echoing through the lobby and hotel hallways, even with the security doors closed. There is no type of ventilation in the pool area and the amount of chlorine used should be illegal, other than that it was clean and stocked with fresh towels and moderate seating sue to the cheerleading comp. The suite was spacious and clean, two nice hdtv's but with a limited channel selection, It covered the basics. The breakfadt was par at best, could tell the eggs were powdered and all of the bread, muffins, bagels, etc. were dry and hard. There was also fruit and milk which was nice. The pancakes tasted like plastic...lol but for "free" thats what you can expect. It was a nice stay and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Crisper59 Great Hotel but terrible pillows!
I love staying at this HI Express...friendly staff and comfortable rooms, the only miss are the lumpy uncomfortable pillows. This seems to be a standard issue at all HI Express hotels. I am ready to buy one of these pillows and mail to their CEO and ask that if he/she would sleep on this pillow!

Got settled in my room. Went to warm some food up in the microwave to find it not working because it was unplugged. After plugging it in all it did was beep. When I went to go to the bathroom room I raised the seat and found a very large surprise under the lid.
Most of my issue are with housekeeping

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 247bay No hot shower
Shower water or any other water outlet would only get luke warm. Also, the heating/cooling system did not operate at or in a comfortable range.

King suite wonderful. Bed very comfy. Enjoyed having the kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. Large bathroom. Lots of places to eat in this area. Meijer next door - easy access. Last night of a business trip and this was a great way to end it. Was able to relax.....Thanks. I needed it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by zingo Old hotel, nowhere near HI Express Standards
The second, and last time I will stay at this property. This is an older property that must have been acquired by Holiday Inn. The evening I arrived there was water lierally dripping from the bathrom ceiling over the tub. Not just one small drop, but almost like the tub above was overflowing. Carpet in the room between the bed and bathroom was also soaked. When I asked to be moved to another room, they put me in the room next to my original room...and although there was not a leak the carpet in this room was also wet. I gave up and went to sleep.
This property is nowhere near the HI Express standards! Very run down and in need of a complete makeover.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by utahjake Very Clean, Comfortable Hotel
The room was large, clean and conveniently arranged. It was just off the road so quiet. We just chose the wrong weekend - there was a huge soccer/football tournament and there were a zillion kids running up and down the hall til midnight. Not the fault of the hotel tho. We would stay there again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JazzyJ Had a wonderful time! They were sooooo accomodating:)
I stayed at the Grand Rapids Holiday Inn Express and had a wonderful time. They were so accomodating. I ran the Grand Rapids marathon and they gave everyone a late checkout of 3:00 pm and that was soooooooo nice! Some hotels do not do that and I am so very grateful that they were accomodating. They also had a nice shuttle van to the start line and they had the best breakfast I have seen at a hotel!
Thank you Grand Rapids Holiday Inn Express! You Rock!
