The reason we picked the room we did was to use the jacuzzi ...however that was a problem, My husband sleeps in longer than myself.and so my plan was to use it bright and early ( while he sleep in ). That was not to hot water ! From 7 am till 830 am no hot water. I was bummed ! So..I got in the shower..again ..only warm water ! By the time there was hot water..we had to leave. I wish we didnt spend the extra to upgrade to a jacuzzi room ( no hot water ).The bed and pillows were very comfy. The room set up is nice. May 5, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Another Wonderful Stay As usual a wonderful stay. Even with the lacrosse and soccer teams. Kids were running up and down the hall and told John and he shut it down right away. Don't know where the parents are that say they will watch things on these trips. The staff here is awesome, always friendly and helpful. This property is close to everything. April 2, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jacuzzi suite nice but... The jacuzzi suite was nice to stay in, but felt like it needed a facelift. It was alright for a night. The rest of the room was decent. It was overall pretty clean except for a clump of hair near the base of the tub and lots of dust on the potted plant. Overall, I'd stay here again, but most likely in a standard room. The breakfast was decent. Standard offerings for free breakfast. The biscuits and gravy were good. Didn't try the pancakes. March 26, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and clean Staff needs some improvement. Comfortable bed staff had some issues.The night manager woke us up at 2am because we had a 12pm wake up call WHAT?! That woke up the baby and other children. I've seen better breakfast choices. When we called the hotel direct because the express way just close due to a bad storm and accidents the hotel staff quoted us a $40 higher rate than the 800 holiday in #. Over all I liked the hotel just issues with the staff. February 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Slipping fast I stay at this property about 8 times a year. February 10 was my last time. All my flights were late and I got to the hotel at 10:00pm. The girl checking me in was on the phone the whole time she checked me in. She wasn't talking a lot, but it was in her ear the whole time. I had a long rough day - a smile would have been nice. This isn't the first time the check in has been poor. Neither side door key lock worked. So when I went out to my truck using the side door, I had to walk all the way around. It was 4 degrees out. I moved my truck to the other side and that side door key lock didn't work either. Come on..... I realize MI received a lot of snow this year. But the game plan for plowing the parking lot has created fewer parking spots and no side walks. Finally, there has been a gold Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy parked on the West side of the parking lot for over 2 years. Some of the tires are nearly flat. With the limited parking due to snow, it really irked me - it is parked right in front of the side door. No exaggeration - it has been there at least 2 years. I just booked another night in Grand Rapids and chose a different hotel. This one has been slipping down hill fast and I won't stay there again. I have plenty of choices. . February 14, 2014

This time however, the staff accussed me of potentialy stealing extra towels and pillows which I always ask for and said i would have to come up to the front desk to get toliet paper, later bringing it to my room and apologizing, after my room wasnt serviced! Yep new employees perhaps?? Change in manamgement over the last few months??? Maybe a bad weekend for them! February 12, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointment When I call for pick up at the airport, I was informed that 10 minutes the driver would be there. Earlier in the evening, I was told by another agent that the shuttles runs every 10 minutes till midnight. After arrival about 10:30, I called for the shuttle. After 40 minutes in the cold weather sub zero I called an another agent said she call to see where the driver was. It took another 20 minutes waiting in the cold before the driver arrive. The other Holiday Inn shuttle and Crown Plaza shuttles past me at least 2 times a piece. I was so sorry the reservation was made at the site. The "excuse" from the driver, went to another site to get other partiers and return them to their "hotels". Would have been nice to have that information while in was in the cold. January 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Room and Friendly Service We stayed at for my daughter's cheer competition and although there was a VERY horrible grp of ppl there for the same competition (different cheer grp then ours) and caused a LOT of problem for the hotel staff and patrons, we found ways to avoid them and enjoy our stay. Our room was at the end of the 3rd floor and was VERY NICE, clean and quiet. I was VERY impressed with how the entire staff handled the unruly, extremely rude and loud families who were drinking in the hallways, bad mouthing other teams and just letting their kids run wild. I truly feel this property is a very very good place to stay and will most defiantly bring my family back. Whatever we needed the staff was very quick and very friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfy!! Whatever bad comments are left on here, are not the way we experienced our two nights. You get what you give! January 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday spirit First time we used this facility. Husband and I flew from Grand Rapids to Dallas over the Christmas Holiday. This year was a particular challenge for me as my husband has been diagnosed with memory loss and his mobility is difficult. The staff couldn't have been more helpful to my every request. We had a room on the first floor, we had parking while we were gone, our room was clean and orderly. Desk personnel assisted me with printing boarding passes. Staff assisted me in the workout room and were immediately there when I called. The morning breakfast was wonderful. Staff was constantly cleaning and replenishing. I felt the hotel was clean and well managed. On our return flight we arrived late and decided to stay over again. We had a first floor room that had a couple maintenance problems. I left this information at the desk and they were grateful for my input and I felt they would be handled. The shuttle to and from the airport was an added benefit. We shall return. January 11, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient and Clean We stayed here three times in the past two weeks while shuttling from the airport on various trips. Being across from Meijers grocery is quite convenient. We always have a fast check-in, easy shuttle to airport and back; great value for the price. Very comfortable king size bed. Nice to have the suite option with a small fridge/microwave and the separate room to relax and watch tv. We will continue to use this hotel after having tried several other hotels on 28th Street in Grand Rapids. January 8, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Holiday Inn Experience We stayed New Years Eve, They offered a package that included a shuttle and party bus that drove back and forth from downtown GR to the hotel. It was such a great value, not to have to worry about traffic or driving on such a fun holiday! The hotel and rooms were clean and welcoming, Very nice and up to date, the staff were all friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable, I would 1000000% love to do it again next year. Special thanks to MONIKA! She was nothing but helpful during our stay! I only wish she didn't have to work til 3am so she could have had a drink and enjoyed her new years like she helped us too. I only had to deal with one hotel staff and you could tell he "loved" his job. He didnt acknowledge that I was standing face to face to him at the desk watching him do something at the computer...but oh well everyone has bad days and maybe that was one for him! January 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by It's a Holiday Inn Express so I mean... I pretty much knew what I signed up for when I booked a room here but there were a handful of things that could be improved. For some reason, house keeping came at 9am; I'm not even awake by 9am. The breakfast thing downstairs closed by 10am everyday, which is ok I guess since it's just breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express but at the same time like why 10am that's too early. Also the sidewalks were never shoveled which was kind of annoying. Beds were fine I guess, really springy though. Idk out of all the options in Grand Rapids this seemed pretty ok. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very clean and spacious room I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room which included in a sitting area with its own TV and couch, as well as a kitchenette equipped with a microwave and small refrigerator, sink, counters, and cupboards. The room was very clean and well equipped with towels, coffee maker, and other amenities. The only downside to our stay was the combination of thin walls separating our room from the next and a large group of noisy teenage girls in that room. I was prone to be forgiving of the noise having once been a teenage girl myself and because it was a Saturday night, until they carried on through the evening past 12:30 a.m. I telephoned the front desk, they responded immediately with a knock on the door and then a telephone call both of which were ignored but succeeded in achieving the result for which I was looking: blissful quiet and a good night's sleep. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by no crib I requested a crib for my 1 year old granddaughter when making this reservation on the phone. When we arrived to check in I asked if the crib was in the room, and the girl checking us in had no idea. She asked another girl that was also at the front desk and then made a phone call. She assured me that a crib would be in the room shortly. We took our luggage to the room and then we left the hotel . We returned at 9:00 pm only to find that the crib was still not in the room. I called the front desk and was told that the maintenance guy who has the key to that closet was no longer on site and they would see what they could do.We decided to use the pool and hottub to give them some time to get the crib. When we returned from using the pool there was still no crib. The front desk called to say they would be going to one of their "sister" facilities to get a crib. The crib finally arrived at almost 11:00 PM. I had to make another call to the front desk to get a sheet for the crib. The manager on duty did tell me that he had contacted his manager and they would be giving me a 30% discount off the room rate for that evening. It was disappointing that the crib was not there in the beginning, since I reserved it at the time of making the reservation. What a hassel!! December 29, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great living space for a family. We had 3 grandchildren, under 4 years of age so the divided living and sleeping areas were perfect when it was time for them to go to bed. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Beds and pillows super comfortable. Kids had a great time at the indoor pool. This is one of the best Holiday Inn Express' we've stayed in - thank you. Pool was nice for the kids, and breakfast was ok (powdered eggs are not my favorite, but the kids loved the pancake machine!#. Took shuttle many times back and forth to down town. Not great communication between shuttle drivers and front desk. Desk had sign-up for times to leave, but shuttle drivers did not have #or check) list, so others not on list got on before the people that had actually signed up. Not a huge deal, but very inconvenient when having to arrive at a venue at a particular time. Overall good experience and we would stay there again. December 4, 2013

The bathroom was very clean. The continental breakfast was okay. There was a lack of tables in the eating area. The staff was friendly, but they weren't exceptional. the pool looked clean and was good enough for my kids. I loved the free wi-fi. December 4, 2013
