Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service and spacious rooms This was our very first visit to the Berkshires and a host hotel chosen by our Nephew for his wedding block. I checked out postings on Trip Advisor about the hotel and found numerous comments about a friendly and dedicated breakfast attendant. I had to find out for myself. Since I've been in the hospitality field for over 20 + years I wanted (no needed to meet him). So on our first morning I was excited to find out that everything that has been posted is absolutely "TRUE". Frank is a shining star. So attentive, he even took the time to show me how the pancake machine operated. On our last morning I opted to sleep in and did not have breakfast, when Frank saw me come into the room to meet up with family members, he actually came over to me and offered to heat something up for me. He gets my vote for Employee of the Year/s. Of course you can tell he is a military man, so as they say, "It takes one to know one". He thanked my husband for his service to our country and you could see the pride in his face as he shook his hand. Our accommodations were more than ample and cheerful. Beds were comfortable and we appreciated having a microwave and mini frig in the room. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Fresh cookies gave a homey touch and greatly appreciated by my 4 yr. old grandson as well as his Grandfather. We all enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again one day. Thank you. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed room not clean First let me say we were not unhappy with the front desk and breakfast staff, they were all very pleasant and accomodating. However, we were very uhappy with the condition of our room. The first night we noticed our kingsize bed had a ripped queensize flat sheet on top of the streched out mattress pad. Not a very comfortable situation. We were told the next morning that they had run out of the proper size sheets. The next evening we had a kingsize flat sheet and no sheet between us and the comforter.. The room obviously had not been vacuumed or dusted (had cobwebs near the windows on the floor and crumbs on the floor) before our arrival or during our stay. The toilet seat was chipped and had scratch marks which is really inexcusable because it is so inexpesive to replace a toilet seat. We had stayed at this location before and enjoyed our stay but not this time. The one thing that should be the top priority is cleanliness and cleanliness was the major fault. July 23, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Going Back! I have been a long time fan of the Holiday Inn Express since they saved the day for me on my first visit in 2002. This visit also "saved the day". After a long day of driving I decided I could not make it the final 2.5 hours home. I checked in late around 11pm. The front desk staff was VERY nice. He gave me the best available rate! It was easy to see I was exhausted and some hotel staff may have taken advantage of the to charge me top price! I walked in the room which was clean and comfortable! I feel right to sleep on the comfortable bed and awoke at 6:30 am well rested and ready to complete my journey. (I had a 10 am appointment and needed to be on my way). I had enough time for a nice shower and breakfast before I hit the road. The breakfast was as usual at Holiday Inn Express! Eggs and sausage gravy, coffee and a piece of fruit to go. The "breakfast guy" I wish I remembered his name was friendly and accommodating! I will be returning again this weekend. I had time to find a "cheaper" hotel, but my experience with the staff at this Holiday Inn truly made the decision for me. They were worth every penny. After this weekend I will be able to speak more about the pool and the fitness room which I did not have time to check out before. July 12, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No wall insulation and untrained staff You can hear every little thing between the walls. There was hair on the bathroom floor. I put the "Do not disturb" sign out at night and at 8:30am the housekeeping staff knocked on my door until I finally opened it and pointed to the sign. Pretty basic stuff that could use improving. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service We only stayed one night but the staff was very welcoming. Couldn't get the AC to work in our room and someone came within minutes after we called. Enjoyed the TV on demand in the room--free. Room was clean and comfortable. Didn't eat breakfast so can't comment. The workout room was more like a glass closet...this would be my one negative. I am sure they could find a roomier area to exercise, not much equipment either. For our purposes a great stay. June 5, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Don't pay for jacuzzi room Paid extra for husband and I to relax in a jacuzzi room. The jacuzzi had several jets that didn't work. Paid waay to much for a room when I only got a bath. Notified staff on check out....oops...sorry. That's all. Never again. March 3, 2013

I go down to the desk and the manager said you must be in room 230, we have been having trouble with that one. Just take a quarter and twist the knob and you can get in. The television did not work, so I just read. The breakfast was poor, and the pancake machine was broken. January 8, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never visit again I have stayed in this hotel a few times in the past few years, each time hoping it's better than the last time. The first time I stayed, I had to ask to be moved to a different room because my first room smelled like there was a dead mouse in it. This last time I stayed, all of the washcloths were stained with yellow who knows what, I had to kill a few large bugs, and the room did not feel clean. The rooms had also not been updated since the hotels switch from Holiday Inn to Holiday Inn Express. I stay at Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Expresses religiously when I travel and this hotel location does not stack up to the rest. I am always very pleased with my stay, but never at this location. I will not be giving this location my business any longer. From now on, I will stay at a local hotel or inn when I visit the Berkshires for work, which is a few times a year. When I checked out on October 9th, I was not surprised to find a woman complaining to the front desk people that she had to have the manager come in to the first room she was checked into because she was so disgusted by it that she needed him to see it for himself. She was moved and was not charged for the night. October 24, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Free HBO on Demand I am always staying at Holiday Inn's for business trips so I am usually alone with nothing to do the night before I have to go to work so I find myself in my room at night winding down watching some TV. I was surprised and really pleased to find that you had HBO on demand for free. I thought for sure it would require a fee but it did not and that is certainly a plus in my book. I definitely think you should advertise that the HBO movies on demand are FREE. Most people assume they have to pay for any sort of cable movies they want to watch that's not on the basic cable channels you offer. I think that would appeal to other business travelers like myself who find themselves with nothing to do while they are winding down for the evening. October 23, 2012
