Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and good food. The staff were all very friendly and willing to help where ever needed. They went out of their way to help us. I thought the food was good. Wished for regular bacon instead of all turkey sausage, but that is just my personal preference. September 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cleanliness, price, and location My husband and I (both in our 60's) like to stay at Holiday Inn Express and Suites while traveling because of the cleanliness, the price, the location off the interstates, and the quality restaurants surrounding the hotel. After traveling all day we like to enjoy a sit down meal at a good restaurant. We also use the pool and hot tub for some exercise. The one thing I would like to see all hotels do is replace low toilets with the new high rises. September 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Could not sleep due to hearing walking in room above ours Everything was great until my husband and I went to sleep. We were tired from traveling all day. We checked in around 9:30 pm. We asked for a quiet room not near an elevator. We got to bed around 11 to 11:30. We soon began to hear pounding from the room above ours. It sounded like someone stomping back and forth intermittently. I was shocked to hear this type of noise at a Holiday Inn Express. We've stayed in several over the years and never experienced this before. Around 12:45 I called the front desk person and told him about us hearing people walking above us and not being able to sleep. He said he would take care of it. About 5 min later he called us and said he spoke with the people in the room and their children were running back and forth, but were getting ready for bed soon. I would expect such poor quality of building construction in a less expensive hotel, but not a Holiday Inn. I cannot ever remember hearing people walking in the room above ours in any hotel. This will effect our staying in future Holiday Inns or we will make sure we stay on the top floor. We were on the 2nd floor. We had poor sleep quality and left later the next day that we had planned. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My Experience At This Hotel! During this stay, the hotel didn't have the ice machines working on the 2nd or 3rd floor. During the night, I had to go to the lobby and get ice because the refrigerator wasn't working. This is not what I want to do in the middle of the night. In addition, the air condition unit in the room wouldn't cool the room lower than 72 even if I set the thermostat lower. Based on this, I would think twice before I stay at this particular hotel. I have been a rewards member for years and I must say I was very surprised to find a Holiday Inn Express in this matter. Thank you for letting me vent, but please know that the front desk was told about the refrigerator. The A/C issue is something that is set by the hotel attempting to save money. If I am paying the published rate for an evening stay, then my comfort should be determined by me when it comes to the room temp. The ice machines, again, set by management for some reason not to be operational. September 2, 2015
