Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lights Out Arrived in room to find that one of the bedside lamps was dismantled. Reported this to reception and was assured that it would be fixed. Left a note for Housekeeping pointing out the problem. When we left 3 days later light still had not been fixed. Apart from that, the room was OK. Breakfast was as expected. August 15, 2013

Great welcome and very helpful staff, even ordering a taxi for us to get to the church in Greenock. Excellent breakfast but was too late for bacon. Would definitely stay again. August 7, 2013

My wife and I spent 8 nights in the hotel which was very comfortable and, although busy, very quiet. We found all the staff pleasant, helpful and friendly at all times and they could not have done enough for us. All facilities were first class with rooms/showers/toilets very clean and adequate supplies of everything required. We have stayed in the hotel many times during the last few years and will be returning again without any doubt. August 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great Hotel and Staff We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Greenock, from the Friday to the Monday. Upon entering the holiday it was spotless and well presented. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh. We were provided with tea and coffee making facilities for free. The breakfast was free and we were spoilt for choice, as there was a lot to choose from, with no charge. We will most definitely be returning again next year, in which we will be staying longer. We would like to thank ALL the staff at the Hotel for making us feel so welcome and for going out of their way to help us with any questions we had. If anyone is considering staying at this hotel, we would urge them to do so. Many thanks Holiday Inn. See you next year. July 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel and staff good but evening meal poor. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a good selection of food for breakfast which was of acceptable quality. The only thing that was disappointing about our stay was the evening meal. It was bland and over cooked and for £49.50 for two it was not good value. When I pointed out my disappointment to two members of staff I got no response at all, not even an apology. I would stay at this hotel again but I would certainly not eat there. July 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by all over experice horrid, , arrived unable to open door to room, 45min, later still not in, long day to get there, not young people, staff also unable to open, asked to have another room, after another 15min, into another room, room made up for 4 only 2 of us. manager went read booking, yes 2, bathroom, would never use shower, I cleaned the loo and basin, not any cleaners in hotel!!!!. bed seen better days, glad to be only seep in it for 1 night, went down for a drink table never been cleaned all day I would think, manager helpful, staff not pleasant, breakfast, not any health options,,,glad to leave, we have used your hotels before, and never had to write anything like this,... We found the room very clean and comfortable, although the breakfast was nice it lacked a bit in variety, but then again that is just personal choice.The staff were so friendly polite and helpful and nothing was a problem to them,it made it the perfect start to our holiday, i would recommend this hotel to any one staying in greenock. once again a big thank you to all the staff. The room was great, the breakfast was good, and it was a fast taxi or nice walk to the train station. We would recommend this hotel for singles, families, couples, girfriend getaways .. everyone. If there was one area of disappointment it was the absence off both bacon and mousli at breakfast, this however is a minor niggle and over all I would highly recommend this hotel. May 9, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable short stay We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Greenock for 3 nights on 11 April as we were attending a family funeral. Overall the hotel was good. Rooms comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast average but as it was complimentary this was excellent value. We would stay again as it was very good value for money. April 22, 2013

The rooms I've stayed in are always clean and tidy and the rooms that have been refurbished are very comfortable and cosy. The free internet access in the lobby area is great. Had a problem with door card on my last night but this was quickly rectified by the pleasant girls on reception. Will be staying again as always on my next visit. April 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 HELPFUL,FRIENDLY STAFF AND COMFORTABLE ACCESSIBLE ROOM We were a party of 3 in 2 rooms,one being an accessible room. We were given ground floor connecting rooms without any requests, the rooms were both lovely,clean and spacious and quiet at night. The main room with the free wi-fi was a bonus for our daughter to use her i-pad and update her friends on her visit to a local TV drama set and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were all friendly even suggesting a local curry house called Saffrons within walking distance as we wanted a walk in the fresh air after a long journey. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and the Greenock location was much more scenic than we had expected. April 10, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for To be honest, we only stayed here because it was £10 cheaper than other hotels in Greenock as it was a last minute booking. When we arrived we had to wait for someone to go behind the desk to check us in. This was done swiftly and efficiently. However when we got to our room, one adult with two tired children, we found that the sofa bed wasn't made up. So a trail back down to reception where the man on reception apologised and allocated us another room. Unfortunately this was one with an adjoining door to the next bedroom, so was quite noisy at times. However, since we were all worn out, this didn't really bother us. Breakfast the following morning was complimentary and was extremely poor. Food was scarce, staff were disinterested and although we were in the dining room at 9.35 (breakfast finished at 10) there was no hot food to be had. A lady complained, and we were told that more hot food would be brought out in 10 minutes. At 9.50 a platter of sausages and scrambled egg was brought out. At 9.55 the waiting staff were clearing away clean plates and at 10 am the remaining hot food was whisked away regardless of the fact that we had only 10 minutes access to it. I wouldn't bother complaining as some people did because it was free, and if this had been my only experience of Holiday Inn hotels it would deter me from staying in a Holiday Inn again. However I have stayed in others, notably the Lancaster Holiday Inn, therefore I think this one (Greenock) is not of usual standard. January 10, 2013

We stay in this hotel at least on 4 occasions each year over the past few years and it never ceases to amaze us of the friendliness of the entire staff, nothing is too much bother from them. The rooms are always clean and fresh, this also applies to the whole of the hotel.I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone visiting the area. January 8, 2013
