Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service #1! I recently stayed at this location while traveling on business and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Even though this location was under construction, it was very clean. My room was nice and clean, I had a very comfortable bed and was very pleased with my stay. The staff was so friendly at check in and even the next morning when I went down to the front desk in desperation needing a safety pin. The front desk clerk was kind enough to sacrifice her own pin for me. By doing this she saved me from having to make an uncomfortable stop at a store to purchase pins and would have made me late for a meeting that morning. I love the breakfast options that are offered and will make the Holiday Inn Express locations my preferred choice when traveling. Thank you to the staff for putting the customer back in customer service!! March 13, 2013

Morning breakfast was hectic due to large group of students staying there for singing competition. Overall the breakfast staff seemed to have everything well stocked. Checkout was smooth. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Service was not up to standard There was one friendly desk employee the whole week I stayed. Most of the people could'nt give of their rear to help or be friendly. The breakfest area was disorganized and the pancake machine was out of order with no idea when it would be fixed. February 28, 2013

The front desk changed my room to nonsmoking without hesitation and very quickly. The room was clean and comfortable. February 6, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible cigarette smell. Staff not knowledgeable of hotel policies. I'm a gold member with the Holiday Inn Express. As we're walking to our room which was on the 3rd floor you could smell cigarettes the minute you got off the elevator, down the hallway and inside the room. The room had a peculiar smell as if something was put in the room to cover the cigarette smell. The room was non-smoking so we couldn't figure out why it smelled. After awhile we realized that we were staying in a half smoking and half non-smoking room floor. I thought the HIE were smoke free. I have asthma and so do my kids we cannot afford to be anywhere near cigarette smoke. It was very disappointing and the staff didn't even ask me if it was ok to stay on that floor. The front desk lady Lisa told me that I couldn't have a cot in the room so they did upgrade me to the suite at no extra cost, but my husband is active duty Navy and we had to cut out stay short the hotel refused to reimburse us the remaining of the stay we had already paid for. They gave me a really hard time I had to call corporate, they contacted the hotel and straightened it out and got us the rest of our money back. Come to find out Lisa the front desk staff member didn't know the hotel policy well yet she argued with me about it. After much effort on my part things got corrected but rather than verifying the policy she argued with me and when I asked and call for the manager a couple of times she was not available. Not my best experience at the HIE. January 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy We went to grove city for getaway before the new year 2013. We were put in a king room nice for the price right. First night was ok,second night the bathroom toilet breaks. Ok thing happens . They put us to a new room. Ok fine. Next night the new room bathroom toilet breaks same way as first room. Go up front desk and tell them again with the toilet, no there to fix it would l like to move again. I say no just give me a plunger she does it works. Ask I speak to manger none around sorry. Also there seem to be a maid working there with her kid not sure what that about. All in all not happy with my stay. January 2, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NO Visible Sign Only go to this Inn if it is daylight and not raining!!! YOu can only see a small sign if you look at the right time....there are no large/high signs to show where it is. It is hidden on a farback from the street behind other hotels. Even the locals did not know where it was...use your GPS if you have one. It took us OVER AN HOUR to find it ...only after we called the main desk and had turn by turn directions. I emailed the company about the trouble finding the Hotel...they said they woud get back to us....5 days later...we have not been contacted :( We called ahead for this room ...later asked for them to cancel it but they would not :( We left at 5:30 before breakfast ...if there was one. we were charged full price for staying 4 1/2 hours. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Below average for HIE standards As a Platinum member of Priority Club, I stay in many HI properties, and this was not up to standards. The following items were found not acceptable: 1. No desk--just a small round table with a lamp--no room to work 2. Very few electrical outlets--had to unplug a lamp to plug in my phone charger. Not a very business friendly room. 3. The property provided food that evening, but did not advertise this to us staying there. I ran into it on my way out for dinner. I did not see anything posted in the lobby, either. 4. My check-in reservation had me listed as "Gold", but have been Platinum for over 2 months, and was recognized as Platinum at other HIE's prior to this stay. 5. TV channel guide in room guide book did not match actual channels on the TV--only 3 of over 60 channels were correct. On my future visits to this area, I will not stay at this particular HIE.
