Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Moldy rooms and Horrible Service as soon as we pulled in the parking lot the place looked very sketchy. There were strange people drinking in the parking lot. the parking lot was very messy, the outside of the building looked rundown and dirty. when we walked in the front desk attendent was lounging in the lobby watching football, i didnt even know he worked there until about 5 min later when he came behind the counter. the lobby smelled like cigar smoke and mold, but looked clean. when he assigned us our room he acted like he didnt know what he was doing. While on our way to the room the hallway were very smelly and showed signs of neglect. As we walked in our room you could tell that it hadnt been cleaned very well, the bathroom was smelly like poo. black mold was around the acunit and on the celing. there were black hairs all over the pillows and the sheets were very nasty. we had our infent with us and i was not about to let him sleep in anything like that. we checked out 30 min after checking in. the front desk attendent wouldnt even give us a refund on our room. i even tried calliong the hotel manager multible times with no answer. I had to call IHG to get my refund. This hotel should not be part of IHG. I have been a club member since 2004 (which was Priority Club back then) and i have never had an issue like i had at this hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you like cheap nasty living conditions. No GM to address concerns, just the fill-in sales director. requested a call back from issues with points and the man is too lazy to pick up the phone. However, you'll see a generic response posted as though they really are taking my post here seriously and looking to improve continually......Save your typing and pick up the phone when your customer has an issue don't leave it for your staff to waste my time. AVOID THIS PROPERTY THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHERS IN THE AREA! January 14, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Price is not bad but the hospitality is lacking The AC in our room did not work, the front desk worker was pretty condescending and implied that we did not know how to use a thermostat. The next time I am in Gulf Shores I will stay somewhere else. there are several hotels in the area for about the same cost and hopefully working air conditioning. This was the only issue that we had, everything else was OK January 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice HIE - great location for Mobile Bay Ferry Very nice, new hotel. All the same amenities as other newer HIE's. We stayed one night and chose the hotel because we wanted to take the Mobile Bay car ferry to Dauphin Island early the next morning. It is a very easy 25 minute drive from the HIE to the ferry loading area. My only criticism of the last 2 HIE's we have stayed at is that they have gone to sconces next to the mirrors and, with the new energy saving light bulbs, the bathroom lights at the sink is very poor. In my opinion this is a poor choice by HIE. Perhaps it is the wattage chosen, but I think it is the sconces that contribute to the dim lighting. I would have rated it higher, if not for the bathroom lighting. January 5, 2015
