This Holiday Inn was so easy to find, right down from the Coliseum.
Charles, Darrell, SHARON, and everyone else made my stay so good. Sharon really worked with me to get me good directions back to the other state I drove in from for business. She and Darrell were better than TRIPLE AAA!!!
Breakfast was great, real eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. Room was modern, clean, quiet. I was on the second floor. Parking was plentiful. Everyone is so friendly here, I really enjoy coming here. My company actually has an account with a different chain, but I only stay here when I am in town.
When I was checking out, the lady in charge of Housekeeping had a brand new group of employees starting their new jobs that day. As a Human Resources professional, I was thrilled (as I ate breakfast) to hear her really get to know the new staff, and she provided great team spirit and a sense of integrity and caring to the group. That was wonderful to observe. If you have to housekeeping work, which is very hard work, you want to work for this lady. It was the first time in my life I saw a boss treat housekeepers with respect and joy. This is the place to stay folks-where the rooms are modern, there are no hidden fees, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the housekeepers are treated well.

Staff is great with quick check in. Hotel is clean and quite. The location is right in the heart of a newer shopping center and everything that Hampton has to offer.

The only negative thing I have to say about my stay at this Holiday Inn Express location was the bed. Initially when I sat on the edge of the bed, I thought "this is a good firm bed". Once I moved over to the middle of the bed I sunk in it like a sink hole in a street. It was a very uncomfortable night for myself and my mate. I tried to stay on the edge of the bed, but sometimes I did roll over to the middle on my mate. During the night I found myself crawling out of the hole to the edge of he bed. Good thing we didn't have a child sleeping in the middle of us.

Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating.
TV had minimum channels, but was HD.
Breakfast was good and plenty.
Hotel was having some maintenance going on. One elevator was down, the other noisy and dirty. My bathroom sink and shower didn't drain very fast. Standing water for 3 minutes after using.
Maid went in my room when I tagged the door for no service, took my used towels and didn't replace them.
Other than this, it was OK

This hotel is tolerable for a one night stay on the road however 4 days is way too long. Here are my reasons;
-elevator was broken for the entire (4) night stay which is totally unacceptable. Guests, maintenance staff and cleaning crews all used one, VERY SLOW elevator.
- white tile floors in hall and by elevator were dirty and had not been mopped.
- carpet in elevator was worn out and very dirty
- the king bed room was VERY small compared to other hotels.
- cleaning crews cleaned rooms until 8:30 at night on my first night. Why, if the check out is 11:00 am?
- there is a huge, nasty, dark, vacant lot behind the hotel where anything can happen. Safety issue!!
- the hotel is next to Interstate 64 and (8) lane Mercury Blvd. so very noisy, jammed and distracting.
This was the worst hotel experience in years and I travel a lot!

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express - Hampton Coliseum Central for business. Overall, it was a nice stay. The hotel appears new and very well maintained. The staff was wonderful, very attentive and pleasant. The free wi-fi and breakfast every morning were very nice touches. The only downer to the stay was the fact that there was only one elevator working. Being on the fifth floor with bad knees, caused me to have to wait often. But still, it was a good stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The drain on the tub and sink were extreemely slow. The heater/airconditioner was loud. And only one elevator was in service.
Rooms were clean. Elevator was not.
I left the "sleeping - Do not disturb" tag on my door while I was away for the day and came back to find my room gone thru. Housekeeping emptied my trash, took my used towels and bath mat - and didn't replaced them. Ran out of toilet paper.
