Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smoking Rooms I am not a smoker but there were only 2 rooms left and both were smoking. The odor was unbelievable---the pillow, the room. My clothes still smell of smoke! All other services and staff were absolutely great. Also, there were air purifiers or odor removers in the 3rd floor hall so staff are trying to assure removal of smoke odor. The staff member on 3rd floor on Sunday am and the staff in the breakfast area could not have been nicer, or more friendly and service oriented. THANK YOU!!! August 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smell We stay at this hotel every year, however this year there was a smell throughout the hotel as if the rugs were wet and not properly dried. Although the hotel seemed clean the smell of wet dirty rug was on every floor. August 13, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Smoke odors but responsive staff Requested a non-smoking room and received a room on the 3rd floor, which we found out was a majority smoking floor. The entire hallway was thick with cigarette odor, which had seeped into the room. Even the elevator and hotel vestibule (for some reason) were smelly. We contacted the front desk staff, and they were very responsive. We were immediately moved to a different room on the 2nd floor. This room actually smelled worse than the one on the 3rd floor for some reason. The staff again was responsive and explained that the smell might have come from the room's proximity to the 3rd floor. They couldn't move us until the next day due to availability. They gave us $10 off the night--not great but a nice gesture. The next day we were moved to the 1st floor--musty but smoke-free. The staff was quite friendly (as were we) throughout the whole process, which we greatly appreciated. Rooms were always clean and comfortable. BTW the breakfast was among the best we've ever had. The bedding is absolutely superb and rooms are inviting and quiet. Breakfast is good choices, and offered on a time schedule that works well for us. Staff at this facility are SUPERB!!! I left an item in our room and only discovered it two days later - called in the middle of the night and was reassured that it had been found and turned in and would be mailed to me. I enjoyed my time in the clean gym. The breakfast was hot and fresh. My husband enjoyed the pancake machine. We were able to visit the nearby UTZ potato chip factory tour and the tour of Snyder's of Hanover. July 18, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Place Everything was excellent, the staff, room, and breakfast all except the entire 3rd floor smelled strong of cigarette smoke. Wish they hadn't put us up there. Once we got into our room we were fine. We stayed there with my daughter and her husband who's room was on the 2nd floor and that was fine, when they came up to get us they also agreed the hallway stunk! I think that if they allow smoking it should be contained to all one floor rather then half and half on the same floor. All in all a nice place. July 8, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a pleasant stay but... My stay at this Holiday Inn Express was mostly pleasant. However, the breakfast area has no room around the serving setup to put down a plate. The continental area had room for one person to put down a plate. It makes it difficult to try and get something in the toaster. The hot serving area is the same. Very difficult to maneuver while getting breakfast. The room has a dresser with the TV on it. Beside the dresser is a tall stand which holds the refrigerator and the microwave. Then the desk is beside that. While working on my computer at the desk I cant see the TV because of the big stand. The TV is bolted down so I could not move that. I tried to swap the desk and the big stand but the cables are too short. I had to roll the desk chair back and forth just to adjust the volume every time a commercial came on. Either raise up the TV or rearrange the furniture. This will keep me from staying there in the future. June 30, 2014

The desk staff is great; check-in is easy, and my bill is always ready when I leave. The room is always clean, and I have never had any problems of any kind.
