This location holiday Inn had a large amount of teenagers from a baseball tournement in house all weekend and the staff here did not think to seperate them into one wing and leave a quiet area for adult traveling guests whom would like to relax. So many times at stays at holiday Inns the location managment determines the atmosphere at this one the leadership did not care. The teenagers created havoc and caos and were allowed to run free in all areas and the breakfeast area was filthy with the juice machine busted and the staff were at the point were they tried to act like they did not notice the disfunction of the facility due to unsupervised large groups of teens. I would not reccomend this facility and location to anyone....

The complaint that I have is that the maid was very upset that I had a late checkout and wasn't leaving until 2PM. I had walked to the front to get coffee and her and the gentleman at the front desk at the time were discussing this very openly saying that I should of been gone by now and not waited to leave until late.
I am a platinum member and I thought I could have this courtesy. Everywhere else I have stayed I am granted this without any problems and/or nasty remarks or complaints.
I did approach the gentleman at the desk regarding this and again he thought it was nothing and she was entitled to what ever she wanted to say.
I didn't think this was right at all and after a good stay this turned into something regrettable.

Located just off the highway but still quiet. A short drive 10- 15 minutes to Hershey attractions. Several good resturaunts ( red Lobster and Applebys) are close. Less that a half hour to several Amish attractions. Clean and comfotable rooms and a good breakffast all in all a great place to stay

NIce, clean hotel. New(er) rooms, lobby, etc. Always clean. Great location right off Rt. 81.
BUT - very poor service and attitude from staff. Stayed here for the 3rd time in 4 months (for convenience) May 30th. Checked in at 10:45pm. Front desk clerk was sitting on hood of friend's car smoking outside front door when I walked up. Had to wait for him to come inside and check me in - smelling like an ashtray!
Checked out at 5:45am. And just as with last 2 times I stayed here I could not get a receipt!!!! Crazy!!! Always have to call the hotel later and speak with 2 different people just to get a receipt emailed to me. They couldn't find my reservation at first and took too much effort. Left a voice mail for the manager - never called me back.
Won't stay here again because of the staff and service.
If you're looking for a nice room at a great rate and don't care about service this is a good stay. But not for me.

Was not able to have the free breakfast in the morning of our stay.
The place was packed with lots of children. No place to sit down at all.Could not even get to the coffee pots. Tried again an hour later and was still packed solid. Decided to go across the street to the Perkins restaurant and finally had a breakfast that was not free.Also the room had the sink in the bedroom area not the bathroom area. Was not comfortable with this option. It was only one night. When staying longer would rather have the sink in the bathroom where it should be.

I came with the family for the Memorial Day weekend. As expected the hotel was very busy and full. However, this didnt take away from the hotel experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and modern. Parking was plentiful and you are just a few minutes drive from Hershey Park. The free breakfast is an added plus and there was a wide selection of foods. The children loved the swimming pool especially after a long day at the park. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitley return next year.

I can't stress enough how impressed I was with this property and with the kind lady working the late night shift at the front desk. My disappointment and negative review is based upon my second, failed attempt to try to stay at this hotel, which did have rooms available.
While recently travelling on vacation with my family I had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Harrisburg, PA, on the 5th of May, 2013. We were travelling by car and pulled up to the hotel late at night. The staff member on duty was extremely helpful and kind. When I explained that I was travelling with my wife and three children she was able to put us into a room with two queens and provided us with a cot. She explained that that option was only available in some of the rooms as most would not accomodate a cot. We thanked her and enjoyed our brief stay as we were continuing our journey to Florida the next morning. We stayed in another Holiday inn the next night and were well taken care of again. Each night HI continued to meet and exceed my expectations, for which I was greatful. On our return from Florida we arttempted to repeat the pattern. Our first night went well as we visited the same hotel in South Carolina. On the second night of our return journey I tried to stay at the same Harrisburg hotel. It was late in the evening when I contacted the hotel, after trying unsuccessfully to arrange for a room through the priority club hotline, which was the first unsettling event of the night. When I did contact the hotel I was informed in no uncertain terms by the gentleman who answered the phone that no such room existed (wherein I could use a cot for my 6 year old daughter). I tried to explained that we had stayed in just such a room not two weeks previously, to no avail, and a unseemly amount of brusqueness, I might add. It was close to midnight by this time and raining fairly heavily. My frustration level was quite high and I was extremely disappointed with Holiday Inn at this point. I use HI hotels quite regularly as I travel extesively for work.. I was forced to look elsewhere and was greatly relieved when we were warmly greated and taken care of by the staff at a competing hotal in Harrisburg who could not have been more helpful. This experience was greatly upsetting as I feel greatly disappointed and let down by a brand that I have grown to trust and frequent, as evidenced by my patronage over the last couple of years.

This looks like a brand new hotel, but it ends there.
Priority Platinum members get no recognition, no thank you for our loyalty, no water bottle, no wake up call! ( they missed mine at 5:45 am only to say....oh, sorry....)....at check in, the man at desk seemed bothered that I wanted to check in. I actually asked him if he liked his job or not. ....The other desk clerk ( woman) would not stand up to recognize arriving guests......chowing down on her dinner seemed to be more important. later, she had to remove her headphones to hear what I was asking her .not a good experience, desk clerk stated that owner doesn't recognize priority club guests, doesn't care because people will stay there because of their proximity to Hershey Park. Yes, he actually said that!
.The next morning after my missed wake up call, I found the desk clerk outside smoking with head phones on bouncing his head to music .......asked about the missed wake up call....he said..." Oh....sorry.......He missed my morning wake up call, but sure didn't miss his cigarette....

The room was spacious and clean, tghe breakfast especally the buns is a real treat.
My wife and I always look to book first at Holiday Inn Express.
Keep up great work and don't get rid of the hot buns.

The room was so clean..... I was very happy to see the clean rooms the halls lobby pool area all clean .....great location we had a great time.... we had only two concerns everyone was great except on lady at the desk at 1st we thought maybe she was just having a bad day let it go then the bad day led to another.... I asked her about breakfast and food allergies for my daughter not helpful at all would not even get us the ingredient of the breakfast food...All is all we had a great time everyone else was great.... Have never been in a hotel were they did not make the beds tho.... not a problem just have never seen that.....

The hotel is a completely refurbished property and is very modern and comfortable. The furniture and amenities are up to date and the bed was very comfortable. I got a walk-in coupon rate which was a great value. Even at full price the hotel is a good value. The staff was friendly and we had a great stay. There is a mall a few exits down the Interstate where there is a choice of good restaurants.

My stay at this location was a very good experience. The staff were very helpful. I had a little trouble connecting to the internet with my personal laptop. The staff, including the manager, came and helped me by phoning the internet service provider. I was soon connected. I was impressed with what they did for me.

After driving several hours from South Carolina. My wife, daughter and I were pleasantly surprised. Check-in was speedy. Breakfast the next morning was a delight. Plus with the proximate to Hershey Park, we have already made plans to return next year.

We stopped randomly at this hotel on our way South. We are Platinum Priority Club Members who normally plan our stops, but we were being adventurous. We were not greeted as such after I gave them our Priority Club number, nor were we upgraded. In fact, our room smelled like it had been smoked in and when we complained the manager said it had been treated. When my husband asked the next day about the Priority Club (since they had a sign on the desk which said "Welcome, Priority Club members!") he was told that this hotel did not participate in the program. Funny, seeing how I have now checked out my account and found some points credited for staying. This hotel seems like it was nice when it opened, but it is not being kept up to the level it should be. Personally, I think all IHG hotels should have to participate in the Priority Club program, and held to the high standards of the hotels I frequent because of the IHG branding.

I absolutely loved my stay at the HI Harrisburg. The room looked great, fresh and clean. The decor is contemporary and looks good. I didn't at all mind the smaller vanity... There where lots of room on the shelf below. One constructive criticism though. If I owned this place, I would have a good talk with the guy working at the reception (4/19th at 6pm) so he can great people in a nice genuine way. I want to add that his female colleague was of good help to answer my questions and needs (while he was the one checking me in..)

Found vanity very small - no place for toiletries for this couple. How many people bother taking the hairdryer out of the bag? I guess we'll downsize to toothpaste and toothbrush next trip.

This hotel is on our way home from the south. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is great. I like to use a workout room and this hotel had one of three machines not working. The workout room was warmer than the hallways with no visible way of controlling the temperature. We are priority club member and didn't get any "token" ex. free water or a cookie. However, I still think it is a place I will still aim for on the way home. The staff have good suggestions for the nearby restaurants.

I left my one hundred dollar mirror in the room, called back later to ask if they found it and of course they didn't . Told me the cleaning staff never saw the mirror . My problem now is I stay with you often .. can I feel safe that no one comes in my room when I go out to eat or to a meeting . Very disappointed will not feel safe coming back .

I have stayed here twice and both times it was very pleasant. Very close to the hersey attractions. The only draw back and its minor no welcome like package in the room, with things to do in the area, there is however a big display rack in the lobby area.

Only issue was key card not working. Room was at end of hall and I had to walk back and forth 4x's before he fixed it and it happened 3 times during stay.
One thing I did note was pool water looked green.
I still have not received the service I did at the New Haven, Indiana location

We stayed at this hotel on the night of December 20, 2012, on our way to New York for Christmas. We had an excellent experience and will definitely be using it again when we travel to visit with our daughter in Manhattan. The price was great, and it couldn't have been squeakier clean! Everything was perfect! See you on our next trip north!
