Although promised did the hotel not take care of special allergy needs in the room and for breakfast.
A bad way too soft bed with too many layers of padded items and plastic!
Check-in and check-out staff was rude and impolite.
No service in matter of eligible bonus points.
Hotel stays unwilling to "repair" their mistakes.
The highest qualification for the breakfast is "poor"
Too may sweet items. None healthy items.
Unacceptable to give plastic cups, plates, bowls and silverware, in any hotel guests eat from glass and stoneware with metal silverware.
The hotel fully fails to take care of the environment.
Use of business center did not work.

we had 17 in our group and we stayed here for one night going to Mexico (on a missions trip) and then 2 nights on our return. It was absolutely wonderful to be so close to LAX and also a few other places that we wanted to travel to. The rooms were spotless and two of our rooms were the larger with a pass through door and a small kitchenette, perfect when we wanted to eat pizza and chat. there was a large basketball tournament and you would NEVER have known... it was so quiet. The weekend staff was so helpful even after my 8th question... as soon as they saw me they'd start shaking their heads... I appreciated their humour (you know who you are!) and the fact that they had all 5 rooms ready for me!
anyway I would recommend this hotel 100%!!!!

This is the second time I have used this loction when I have had out of area guest flying out of LAX. I live a couple hours away and to come into the city, have a meal, visit some sites and give my guest a chance to nap or rest before there flight, and then spend the night myself and take care of things in the city the next day. I will likely use this side o several occasions.

some improvements can be made on breakfast buffet. I found the cereal to be a bit stale. Gym can do with some free weights.

I sited at this hotel for one night before the oscar night. City was full and packed so the hotel was nice and matched to me. The only thing that I disappointed from is the parking - It's out side the hotel in external garage, But Stuff was nice and allowed me to put the car near the main looby for suitcases.
Breakfast is nice as all Holiday Inn Hotel so you can find yourself fast. I got an upgrade (Gold Member) for nice and good room.
Nice place!

Stayed 3 nights on our tour around the US. As a budget hotel, its a lot of value for the money. Comfy beds, free indoor parking, free
wi-fi, and even a pool, that we didnt use due to the rather cold weather. Furthermore there is a barbecue station available for the guests.
What I must comment on the bad side is the breakfast arrangment. It has to be my first hotel ever to serve food on cardboard, and only have plastic utensils. In my opinion, one either serve breakfast with normal glassware, or none at all!
Either way, for a hotel close to an airport I can surely recommend it - be warned about the breakfast though.....

We spent three nights at the Holiday Inn Express Los Angeles Airport Hawthorne in February. The hotel is about 20 minutes from LAX but it offers complimentary transfers to/from the hotel. The property is located on Hawthorne Boulevard and is about three blocks away from a Ralph’s super market (which comes in handy if you want to pick up items to enjoy in your room; in addition to food, it also sells liquor, beer and wine).
The hotel has a very spacious lobby and all rooms are accessed via this entry. Located on the first floor is a small business center (two computers with printers) as well as a fitness center. A very large breakfast room is located off the lobby. All rooms have microwaves, a mini-frig and a coffee maker. Our room had a work desk with lots of work space. Wifi was free and very fast.
The Holiday Inn Express breakfast is always good with lots of choices. A nice extra here was that kids were given a plastic drinking cup and a collection of colors and other items to keep them busy while enjoying breakfast. The buffet included hot items – cooked eggs (one morning was cheese omelets, another was scrambled eggs and the last was vegetarian omelets), breakfast meats (they rotated between sausage & bacon), biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes and cinnamon rolls. Cold items included cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs and a variety of breakfast breads & muffins. Coffee, various juices and milk (regular and fat free) were available. Everything was kept full and fresh and it was a great way to start the morning.
We enjoyed our stay at The Holiday Inn Express Los Angeles Hawthorne. We enjoyed being able to walk to Ralph’s (although we might not have done so in the late evening hours). All staff members were friendly and professional. The hotel offers an affordable stay and access to food shopping that isn’t available at many properties closer to the airport. We will use it again when we next pass through Los Angeles.

Stayed two nights between flights. Shuttle was prompt for pick up to/from airport- only short drive away. Breakfast choices were excellent- pancakes, sausage links, egg/cheese "patty" for sandwich plus the usual fare. Room very comfortable. Walked to neighborhood restaurant early in evening and felt quite safe. Definitely a "keeper".

Had a great time! Not in the best location but easy to get anywhere in L.A from the hotel. The room was large and the beds comfortable! Had a fridge and microwave and flat screen T.V. Gated parking for the car at no charge. Pool are and spa was nice to relax in. If we come back to the L.A area again...I would Deff. Stay here again.

Spacious rooms, good beds/matress, free wifi, free parking.
Rather poor breakfast: american way served on plastic which then all goes to garbage, for European absolutelly missing vegetables (few cut tomatoes/pepper/cucomber would not certainly cost that much - we bought some and brought it to the tble), no ham, no sliced cheese (just spread). Just one kind of no-taste bakery (toast bread) on contraty to several choices of sweet (rether oversweeted) bakery. Ladies staff on breakfast rather annoyed/bored lookout. Limited space - sometimes people waiting in the coridor to free table (but breakfast area is large, 5more tables would fit perfectly).
Generally good staff, BUT one thing is still on my mind: we were waiting to delayed luggage which eventually arrived aroud 9pm. We were called to pick it up from reception. After we took the suitcases from cart we were annoyedly said by one of the male-receptionist to return the cart to its parking position 2 meters to the doors! This quite worsened the impression of hotel staff.

Do not leave the hotel property on foot for anything! I walked to McDonalds on the corner and felt I was sized up by more than one person. At McDonalds I was hit up for money. I'm done with this HI at this location

Everything was excellent, pup at airport fast, all the staff very friendly and answer any question. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. The rooms are comfortable, very clean, spacious. It we are ever again at Los Angeles we'll choose again this hotel. The staff is mostly bilingual.

Great place and easily accessible right off the highway. Easy parking as well. The front end staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was extremely clean as well. Could use the better pillows other holiday inn express have. Other than that would recommend.

Everything about this hotel is great - especially the price. Except, the Internet service. It is really important to me, and really horrible. They have a ton of WiFi access points, all with low signal rates. They are constantly fluctuating, and when it is connected, the connection is unbearably slow. The network cord in the room didn't work at all.

The room had a horrible Febreeze old smell. The carpet was wet and we had to wear our shoes the whole time since the carpet was wet. The air conditioner was blowing right on the second bed making a very uncomfortable stay. If you shut the AC off, then you had to deal with the musty smelly wet carpet. YUK, Never again at this property !!

I stay here routinely for business (>6 times in the last 3 months) and couldn't say enough nice things about the staff, the rooms and the great breakfast. Everyone of the staff is helpful and though the location is not a "resort destination", I'd readily stay here if I had an early AM flight at LAX... very safe, very dependable.

I've stayed at the Hawthorne Holiday Inn Express quite a few times over the past four years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are very clean and staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive. The cost to quality ratio is unbeatable for LA, especially for lodging near the airport.
Some worthy features include:
Wonderful Hot Tub and Pool that is the correct temperature, not overloaded with chlorine, and usually available after hours. This property actually lets one enjoy the facilities without kicking everyone out at one second after 10PM.
Excellent and abundant towels in the bathroom.
Paper plates, knives, forks, and spoons supplied in the suites.
Close proximity to the the world class Toyota Sports Center, where one can work out on the ice, watch NHL practice, or perhaps meet a Olympic skater.
and FREE, Secure parking!!
And one more thing: be sure to Google the term 'Cockatoo Inn' and read the totally amazing history!

I thought that area of L.A. would be a little unsafe. Much to my pleasure it was not. It is a little oasis of comfort. I was really impressed how breakfast was mamaged. It was outstanding!.
I really liked the private parking garage. The furniture could be upgraded a little as is is a little old and worn.
I would stay again because of the service and value.

We had an early morning departure before the continental breakfast would be offered. The staff at the Holiday Inn offered to prepare some breakfast bags for us upon our departure from the hotel. What pleasant surprise to have these when we checked out!

We enjoyed our time at this location. I only stay at H.I. properties.
We have been around the world and stay from 80 to 100 nights in H.I. properties. We liked the location and liked the private parking garage.
The breakfast was nomal food but the manager of the breakfast service was outstanding. It was spotless and was always attended to in an exceptional manner.
