Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Stay! First off, the place is spotless! Our room itself, the common areas, and the dining room were all like that. You never forget that first impression and the Holiday Inn Express in Hays made a wonderful one. Secondly, kudos to the staff. They were very, very friendly and accommodating. The young man who checked us in gave us a killer recommendation for one of the local restaurants (Gella's!!), and then provided us with a discount card as well. We had a wonderful dinner and the whole experience made for a great stay in Hays! Will definitely use this hotel again August 20, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised at the noise level First, I was greeted as a rewards member and offered choice of welcome gift. Thank you. My room was on the first floor which is not ideal for me, and usually my room requests of high floor are honored. That being said, I understand that requests cannot always be honored and the room location was only a mild annoyance. There was a piece of a chicken tender in the middle of the room when I walked in and the room smelled very strongly of cleaner. A bit ironic there, eh? Not sure how chicken survived the cleaning but it did. I was more concerned with the overly aggressive cleaner fumes in my room. Again I appreciate a good clean room, but there has to be a few moments to allow the room to air out before the door is closed. The pool and hot tub was nice and welcomed. My room was 6 away from the front desk, but I heard every time the phone rang or a guest was arriving. The hotel was busy and people were arriving well into the early morning, so I was awake most of the night. This is not the fault of the staff, just bad planning by developers, as the sound carries far through the hall. Overall, the outside and lobby of hotel are nice and updated, but the rest of the interior and rooms are not on par with that of the lobby, which is odd given the newness of this property. There was a large dining room for breakfasts guests. August 18, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Nice Stay Our preferred place to stay is an IHG property.Why? Because they are consistently clean and comfortable and The Hays location did not disappoint us at all. Room was spotless and clean and breakfast was very good. Based on our experience you will enjoy stay there as well. August 9, 2015
