Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by we always stay here when traveling in this area The only thing I would like to see change is to increase the temp in the pool and hot tub. This is a really classy place and we have never had anything but the best of stays here. We always try to time our trips out and back so we can stay here. It is at the top of our favorite hotels and couldn't recommend it more highly. September 6, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel to stay in Hays I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Hays for a weekend when I was visiting a family member. I selected this hotel because it seemed to be one of the best in Hays and overall met my expectations. The comfort of the accomodations, cleanliness, amenities and service were all to my satisfaction and I would recommned this place to anyone who might visit Hays. The only mild disappointment was the quality and choice of the breakfast offered. It was very generic and very similar to other average chain hotels with no variety of hot foods for the two days that I was there. Quality of the hot foods was also not up to the mark. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Building design flaws Two things were disappointing - 1.) slow elevator 2.) adjustable shower head is mounted so high that an average size person could not reach it. I'm 6' tall, and I had trouble stretching to adjust the spray. If my wife had showered instead of bathing, she would not have been able to reach it. September 3, 2014
