Baltimore is a major center for both business and tourism in the Mid-Atlantic region. And thanks to its close proximity to Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, as well as Maryland’s capital city, Annapolis, it’s become an ideal destination for travelers seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, favoring, instead, Baltimore’s charming neighborhoods and endless historic sites. Make one of our great Baltimore hotels your base for exploring this fascinating waterfront city.
The harbor is the heart of Baltimore and where you’ll find the majority of the city’s attractions and entertainment options. The National Aquarium and Maryland Science Center are popular with families, while a tour of the USS Constellation or Fort McHenry is sure to please any history buff. There are lively restaurants and pubs up and down the cobblestone streets of Fells Point, and your Baltimore hotel stay just isn’t complete without trying some delicious Maryland crab cakes or the area’s lesser known specialty, the Coddie (a cod cake covered in mustard and sandwiched between two saltine crackers). Delish!
Baltimore also offers a variety of cultural pursuits. There’s performing arts in Midtown, as well as the lauded Walters Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of 19th century European masterpieces. The neighborhood of Mount Vernon has been designated a National Landmark Historic District; be sure to see the original Washington Monument, which was designed by Robert Mills, the same architect who later went on to build the Washington Monument in D.C. Round out your tour of the area with a trip to quirky Hampden and the famous – or infamous – Café Hon. If you’re staying at our Baltimore hotels in the summer, try to time your visit during HonFest. This one-of-a-kind festival celebrates all things Baltimore, including the distinctive Bawlmerese accent, and features some seriously big beehive hairdos.
No matter which part of the city you find yourself in or which of our Holiday Inn Express® Baltimore hotels you choose for your stay, we’re sure you’ll be enamored with Maryland’s Charm City.

This property is well located, within walking distance of the stadiums and the Inner Harbour. The hot breakfast offers varied options including fresh fruit in addition to hot and cold items. Overall,[More]
the breakfast experience was good and there are enough tables to accommodate the guests. The only negatives were that the hotel was under renovation. Hence, the lobby area was not as attractive as it will be when completed and check-in took place in an office behind the front desk. If there was someone else checking in you needed to wait in the hall. The renovations started promptly at 8:00 am and it was quite noisy in the bedroom.
When entering through the back parking lot, it would appear at first glance that this was not the best of neighbourhoods. Close to the bus station but beside the casino, there would be people hanging around the street from which you enter the parking lot. That being said, I did not feel overly unsafe,
Overall, my stay was fine and the will be even better when the renovations are completed. [Less]
