Spent two nights at the hotel while visiting the Texas A&M campus. This hotel had open rooms and was priced far less than the hotels near the campus. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. There is a nice Mexican Restaraunt next to the hotel. A nice Priority Club benefit was a voucher for a drink and candy/chips at the little hotel store.
The only problem with this hotel is that it is across the street from railroad tracks. The train went by several times in the early morning and at night and always blew its whistle/horn at the railroad crossing near the hotel. I was awakend several times and had a hard time getting a good night sleep.

I stayed at the location to attend a funeral in College Station the following morning. The location was great in association to where I had to be the next day, the staff superb, comfortable bed, great breakfast but there was a very active railroad track across the street from location of hotel and my room was on the street side of hotel. It seemed like once an hour a train made use of the tracks across the street and the operators of the locamotives were not bashful about sounding the air horn when they were approaching and right in front of motel all thru the night and early morning.Result: minimal sleep!

On a road trip to Port A, stopped in Hearne for the night. Amas (a great Mexican restaurant) located right next to the Holiday Inn Express made the stay even better.

Breakfast service was poor, no food was put out, had to ask for the server to bring food out. She would bring out about 1 serving of eggs and two pieces of toast at a time. It wasn't even busy at the time we were in the breakfast room.
Holiday Inn Express is my hotel of choice when I travel, this one is overpriced for the area. The people at the desk were freindly, the rooms were clean, and there is a great Tex-Mex restraunt next door. Unfortunately, this hotel is in the middle of no where but comes with a big city price tag.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Nice & not to far from College Station and Student Bonfire
Staff was exceptional! The room was very clean and comfortable. The tall firm bed was just right. The a/c would cycle off & the room would become a little stuffy, but not uncomfortable. The bathrooms were slick with clean, literally. My foot slipped as I was getting out. Next time I will take advantage of the the rubber matsthey offer, available at the front desk. Will definitely stay there again.
