Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worn down and dilapidated hotel In contrast to me expectations and other past experiences with this brand in different cities, this hotel was disturbingly unkempt, worn down, and looked like no one was even trying to make it look presentable. Our room looked dirty, with various "stuff" on the floor, the bathroom tiles moved around, there was old soap in the shower, the drains never emptied, and there were stains on the walls. Unfortunately, we chose to stay there as we had two small kids and it was a very late night arrival, but I would never stay there again. The hallways had paint falling off the walls, the wall paper was peeling, the ceilings had noticeable water stains and cracks everywhere, and I am simply surprised that IHG would even allow this hotel to operate given its conditions. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room in need of vaccuum The floor had beer caps on it in plain view. The toilet in the bathroom was not sitting in the place that it was installed in. You could hear the neighbors through the walls. The staff was very nice. The breakfast choices were few. February 27, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet and comfortable We always enjoy our stays in Henderson Holiday Inn Express. Everyone is always nice and helpful and they smile at you. There are a lot of contractors that stay there but you don't hear any noise late at night or early in the morning. The location is central to most of Henderson. February 1, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bad stay Didn't greet me as priority at check in, and didn't do express checkout. It took me 45 minutes to check out. Beds were outdated and very springy. Very loud all night with people screaming and beating on doors drunk. Very disappointing!!!! November 29, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel Service and Staff This hotel has the the very best service and staff out of any hotels that I have ever stayed. I have stayed at very many hotels .. both in the U.S. and overseas. The courteous staff always welcomed me each morning and they made sure that I was comfortable in the evenings on my return back into the hotel. Just down right good hospitality that You don't find in many hotels. Even the hotel manager (Susan) was extremely nice and always took the time to say hello and ask if she could help with anything. That doesn't happen at very many hotels. Thank you ALL at Holiday Inn Express Henderson for everything. Your "hospitality" is the very best in the world !!! October 7, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not your typical Holiday Inn! I'm a loyal Holiday Inn user. This place was unusually poor. It's very old and dirty. The room was smelly. The room had an air freshener and that didn't even help. The common areas and room was in poor condition. I wouldn't use the Fitness Center because it looked dirty. September 1, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old and run down I stayed at this hotel two years ago and I don't remember it being in this bad of condition. It is now very run down and my room had a bad smokey, musty smell that they tried to cover up with a bad perfume. I had to go and get some frebreze, spray the whole room and open both the door and window to air the room out. This made the room bearable for the one night stay. If it would have been a longer stay I would have changed hotels. August 19, 2013

Something wrong with AC but we notified front desk and I am sure they will fix it. Great people on front desk and breakfast bar and means the most. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Management and Accounting Practices I spent the night at this property on 7/31/13. After standing at the desk for three minutes while the night clerk was writing notes on a pad she asked "What can I do for you?" There is some Fast, Friendly Service. My corporate office has a direct billing account set up and all charges should be sent to them. This is the second time the Henderson location has billed my personal account for the stay. One time I might understand. Two times indicates the management at the motel is incompetent. To add to this issue, the General Manager at the Henderson location was not quick to offer solutions until I contacted their corporate offices and made a complaint. Other problems at this location include the following: Facilities have layers of paint, air fresheners, and caulking covering up the older/worn out property. The beds are spongy and do not offer support. Mold/mildew in the bath. Carpets are dirty. Wear slippers. I used to get a little IHG Rewards goodie bag with water, candy, and crackers - none last two visits. On a brighter note, the chocolate chip cookies were good. August 2, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by In desperate need of upgrading and unprofessional staff I am a Platinum member and was not recognized as a Priority Club memberl. The 1st floor hall is dingy with wallpaper peeling off. The rooms are very small and have not been upgraded except for a flat screen tv. I had to say hello to the front desk person twice before she said a word to me when I checked in. It must have been very annoying to have to get up from her seat to check in a customer. I will only stay here as a last resort if there are other hotels available. I'll be back in town next week again on business but will not stay here. June 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Work on the front desk help and things will be perfect Been staying at this location while we get our property ready to move onto. Only issue is the front desk. There is one lady that is real nice, but the young one and older one need some grooming. The younger one is rarely at the front desk in the morning. The morning my wife was in the lobby, she noticed she wasn't there 20 minutes. She found her at the breakfast area sitting and talking to her friends. When I went up to tell her there was four in our room ,but was only given two sets of towels, she said she would let houskeeping know. When we returned later that evening, only two sets of towels. Went to the front desk and the older one was working. Told her the problem and she wasn't sure if she could give me two more sets as there were limited. If i wanted extra towels above the number in my party, that is one thing, but when they know I have four in my room, there should not have been any excuses. The one good thing is I didn't have the issue with checkout like last time as they did rapid checkout and had my invoice so I didn't have to hope a front desk person was there. June 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent front desk and housekeeping staff. Very courteous and nice Stayed about seven months, practically every week and got to know the staff very well. Outstanding service, made sure my room was taken care of right away if anything ever came up. The staff became my second family since i was tthere every week more nights than I was at home. They were REALLY REALLY NICE, especially Micah and the front desk staff, and Florence and the Housekeeping staff. The breakfast ladies were also very tidy and nice, making sure the tables were clean and the food refreshed. Will certainly go back whenever I visit Henderson, NC. Kingsley May 2, 2013
