location is good ...near Dulles airport and main attractions.
the only elevator is slow and generally crowded with tourist groups and families.
outside noise is significant when tour buses keep their engines running
Breakfast room is smaller and crowded compared to other HIExpress hotels

The staff is outstanding, from front desk to Service technician. They went above and beyond to accommodate me with my needs. I enjoyed staying there on my business trip, I came in for a week and ended up staying there for 12 days.. Will be back.

No sausage offered for breakfast on weekends, greasy bacon was part of the menu instead. Quite disappointed. In addition, the dining room is too small to accomodate the staying guests. Hardly found an empty seat especially if there are tour groups staying at the hotel during breakfast hours. Otherwise, overall experience staying in your hotel is pleasant, I.e. clean room, quiet floor, friendly staff, efficient check in and check out process. Will be back soon.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at when flying out of Dullas. The staff treat you like an old friend. They go the extra mile to make sure you have everything needed and always offer a friendly smile. The rooms are always clean and well appointed.

I needed to stay near Chantilly, Va due to work. I chose Herndon Holiday Inn as I have stayed there before. A wonderful manager on duty worked wth me to get the most out of my points and got me a slight reduction on one of my nights. She was so accomodating, that it was totally refreshing. I have stayed there in the past years and I think that I remember her from before. I know you can pull her name from my records. I stayed there Feb 9th,12th and 13th. She initially checked me in.How lucky you are to have such a wonderful employee.

Our first night at the hotel we noticed certain channels we liked to watch on TV came in but with no sound. We called the front desk and they said they were aware of the problem and that it was a server issue that was to be remedied soon. The next evening still no sound. My husband called the front desk and they said they would send some one up to exchange TVs. He started to explain that he did not think it was the TV but a service provider issue (cable or dish). He was explaining why he thought that and the person at the front desk hung up on him. The maintenance person came to the room exchanged TVs and tested the new one. Still the same problem. We explained what we thought the issue was and he agreed. We kept the original TV and I called the front desk back to let them know the replacement did not solve the issue. The person acted very annoyed and asked me what I expected them to do about the problem. I started to tell her what we had tried to discuss with her before and she told me to stop yelling at her. Yes I was talking in a raised voice by now but I was giving her the correct solution to the problem. She then offered to give us extra priority points and I said I did not want extra points I wanted good service and to be able to watch the TV station with sound that I had planned to watch that evening. She hung up on me! She did not even acknowledge that we had a viable solution to the problem. Bottom line. Yes I would now like my extra priority points for the hassle of going through a very rude conversation with a person who is supose to try to help the guests. I did not appreciate someone refusing to listen to me. Yes, by the time I got on the phone I was frustrated. But this was after the front desk had hung up on my husband who is used to working with problem situations and in NO way raised his voice or was rude in any way!!! We stay at this hotel location about every other month. We give them a lot of our business and expect to be treated with respect. In this instance we were NOT.

Most of the staff were friendly. Three days without water was inconvenient, especially the third day when we did not receive notice of the water being turned off and had to take a shower at another location. Breakfast was great.! The ladies that made sure breakfast was available did a great job. On our last survey we expressed that the towels and sheets could be whiter or newer. We were previously pretty satisfied, that's why we returned again to stay at the Holiday Inn.

I have stayed in this hotel twice this year: one in March and this one in August for business. Overall experience was good. It is a small hotel with limited amenities but most employees were courteous. However, I never received the bonus points they promised this time and the previous time. This was not the bonus points nation wide that Holiday Inn offered. The "bonus" I mentioned was the points (500 points each time I think) as compensation for not using the gym they offered that was outside the hotel. This is not a big deal as the bonus points offered are not much but it negatively affects the relatively good image of the hotel. I think the "missing" was intentional as it happened not only once but twice. I have written inquiry earlier when I realized the missing points previously but no response whatsoever was received. It is sad to see such incidents happened to "value customer". If they could not afford the points why would they advertise them? It is better not making promises that making one with no intention to keep...

Worst night I've had at a HIE. Noisy guests out in front of the lobby entrance woke me up at 1:30 AM and they kept talking, yelling and laughing past 2:30. Then started up again at 5:00 when I guess they were heading out to the airport. In retrospect I should have called down to the front desk, but I half-suspected that it was the front desk staff or the airport shuttle driver making the noise. When I complained to the desk staff in the morning, they said they hadn't heard the noise.
The hotel is convenient to IAD and I have no complaints about the facility itself. I will note that other HIEs often offer Priority Gold members water or something from their snack bar and no such offer was extended here.
