An older property that is very well kept. The convenient shuttle service gets you to and from Dulles very easily.
A host of restaurants are right across the street, and a Safeway grocery store is right next door.
The general manager, Mr. "Satch" Singh, was a great help in getting me to the airport. On my first visit to this property, I had missed the shuttle, and I was asking the desk to call me a cab, when Mr Singh, after overhearing my conversation, offered to take me in another vehicle. Now thats what I call service.
It was because of this first experience, that I stayed at this hotel again, when I revisited DC

WE HAVE STAYED AT YOUR FACILITY MANY TIMES AND WE ALWAYS ARE PLEASED BUT, WHEN WE WERE THERE IN APRIL WE GOT THE ROOM RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE ELEVATOR. SO.....WHEN WE RESERVED IN MAY WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED NOT TO GET THE "ELEVATOR" ROOM AGAIN. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT APPROX 9:00 PM, GUESS WHAT ?.... WE GOT THE ELEVATOR ROOM AGAIN! NOW, BEING PRIORITY CLUB MEMBERS WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED.....NEXT, WHEN WE WENT BACK UP TO THE ROOM AFTER BREAKFAST THE CLEANING PERSON WAS ALREADY IN OUR ROOM ! WE HAD TO BRUSH OUR TEETH WHILE SHE CONTINUED TO CLEAN THE BATHROOM INSTEAD OF EXCUSING HERSELF FROM THE ROOM.
I FEEL WE SHOULD BE COMPENSATED 1 NIGHTS ROOM CHARGE.

I enjoy staying at this property beacuse it is centrally located for my work. More imporatntly, the staff is friendly and outgoing. Always ready to help out.

This was our second stay. The staff was very welcoming both times..
Areas for improvement: ice maker on each floor. more non-fattening breakfast choices. allow one welcome treat from the welcome basket for each arriving Priority Rewards guest instead of just one per party..
I was disappointed that my 500 Reward Points offered at this hotel never showed up in my Reward Balance.

I asked for the Government rate and was overcharged. I called the manager to dispute the issue. He stated he would call me back and never did. I called him, and once again he blew me off. Some of the staff are not very knowledgeable of the rates either and don't handle questions very well.
Hotel was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, however, people were smoking and it came thru the bathroom vents and woke me up. When I called the front desk, he claimed to not be able to find the culprit.

King bedroom small room, bathroom small, toilet right up against wall hardly room to close door.
Closet space small had to take luggage rack out of closet to put luggage on.
Breakfast packed one morning with baseballers couldn't find a seat so left for fast food chain down the street.
Quite at night although doors slamming shut woke me up in the morning
Safeway next door easy walk to grocery store.
Close to Reston, convenient
Reasonably priced for business
Cookies out one day none existing the other days.
Free water and snack on arrival

Chose the Holiday Inn Express in Herndon while attending a Memorial Service for my 98 year old Aunt. The location was convenient with lots of restaurants near by. It was not the nicest Holiday Inn Express, bathroom was quite small, but it was clean and the price was a bargain on the weekend.

I booked this hotel for the shuttle service they say they offer 24/7 ,but that isn't true. I call them within 2 days in advance to our arrival and they assure shuttle service to be provided at 12:45am they said we just have to make a phone call from Dulles airport and they will send the shuttle, but the real experience was that when I called them on our arrival,they asked us to take a taxi and that they will cover the cost,but amazingly,there were no taxis or shuttles availables at our arrival time which was 12:45am on the 19 of may 2013, so I decided to take a car rental agency shuttle to rent a car,but surprise happened, the cost was very expensive,so again I had to call the hotel and after I got angry at them they decided to get a taxi for us,probably because again I told the receptionist of the hotel that I was traveling with my wife and daughter who is on wheel chair.At least they paid for the cab and charge us have of the rate,taking into consideration that we were just going to be at the hotel for 5 hours rest.

confusion with desk. reserved for three nights canceled after two nights,thought they fixed the last night but came back later that evening and didnt have a room. they found the last double in the place that smelled and the tv didnt work properly,told the person at the desk,same person who i talked too after the second night, she tryed too push the mistake on someone else.

My toddler and I stayed the night on a layover. It is very near the airport; it was exactly 10 minutes each way ( at 6:30pm and 6:30 am). We were treated very well. The room was clean and quiet. The staff was helpful and able to tell me a few dozen nearby eateries. Breakfast was very good; there were plenty of options for myself and my toddler. If I ever find myself in the area for the night, I will definitely stay here again.

My room was right next to the elevator so each time someone used the elevator the walls in my room would shake and I heard the humming of the elevator. The doors in the hotel slam way to loud so that kept me up during the night. The housekeeping staff began vacuuming rooms at 7AM... which was frustrating given that I didn't get a good night's rest. The food was OK. It was nice to have free wireless and parking.

I travel a lot. The staff made me feel welcome. I did not notice anything wrong with the room. This means that the hotel delivered what I expected: a good, clean room. Easy check in-check out and a pleasant atmosphere. In short, exactly as advertised.

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn a few times now when leavig out of Dulles Airport...the staff is very friendly and helplul. The rooms are very clean and it's a good location, out of the "hussle and bussle " of DC. We leave our vehicles parked at the motel and are shuttled to the airport, how convienent!!

there are limited resources for business requests
printer is unreliable and a business center is not available
location is good ...near Dulles airport and main attractions.
the only elevator is slow and generally crowded with tourist groups and families.
outside noise is significant when tour buses keep their engines running
Breakfast room is smaller and crowded compared to other HIExpress hotels

No sausage offered for breakfast on weekends, greasy bacon was part of the menu instead. Quite disappointed. In addition, the dining room is too small to accomodate the staying guests. Hardly found an empty seat especially if there are tour groups staying at the hotel during breakfast hours. Otherwise, overall experience staying in your hotel is pleasant, I.e. clean room, quiet floor, friendly staff, efficient check in and check out process. Will be back soon.

I needed to stay near Chantilly, Va due to work. I chose Herndon Holiday Inn as I have stayed there before. A wonderful manager on duty worked wth me to get the most out of my points and got me a slight reduction on one of my nights. She was so accomodating, that it was totally refreshing. I have stayed there in the past years and I think that I remember her from before. I know you can pull her name from my records. I stayed there Feb 9th,12th and 13th. She initially checked me in.How lucky you are to have such a wonderful employee.

Our first night at the hotel we noticed certain channels we liked to watch on TV came in but with no sound. We called the front desk and they said they were aware of the problem and that it was a server issue that was to be remedied soon. The next evening still no sound. My husband called the front desk and they said they would send some one up to exchange TVs. He started to explain that he did not think it was the TV but a service provider issue (cable or dish). He was explaining why he thought that and the person at the front desk hung up on him. The maintenance person came to the room exchanged TVs and tested the new one. Still the same problem. We explained what we thought the issue was and he agreed. We kept the original TV and I called the front desk back to let them know the replacement did not solve the issue. The person acted very annoyed and asked me what I expected them to do about the problem. I started to tell her what we had tried to discuss with her before and she told me to stop yelling at her. Yes I was talking in a raised voice by now but I was giving her the correct solution to the problem. She then offered to give us extra priority points and I said I did not want extra points I wanted good service and to be able to watch the TV station with sound that I had planned to watch that evening. She hung up on me! She did not even acknowledge that we had a viable solution to the problem. Bottom line. Yes I would now like my extra priority points for the hassle of going through a very rude conversation with a person who is supose to try to help the guests. I did not appreciate someone refusing to listen to me. Yes, by the time I got on the phone I was frustrated. But this was after the front desk had hung up on my husband who is used to working with problem situations and in NO way raised his voice or was rude in any way!!! We stay at this hotel location about every other month. We give them a lot of our business and expect to be treated with respect. In this instance we were NOT.
