Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst motel experience ever! My wife and I stayed in room 307 last night (11/8/14) and it was the worst motel experience ever. The mattress was the worst that we have ever encountered and should have been replaced years ago. The window AC/Heat unit sounded like a concrete mixer when it ran. The desk wall light did not work. Only one of the plugs in the desk wall outlet worked. The entry door was very hard to open with the room key. The entry door was cut too short and there was a 2" hole at the bottom, which allowed us to hear a pin drop anywhere on our floor. When the housekeepers arrived early this morning they seemed to work in 2 person "teams" and conversed non-stop in loud voices that came into our room through the 2" crack at the bottom of the entry door. They had replaced the shower curtain and left about 6 large holes in the wall at each end of the original rod. I addressed all of these concerns with both front agents before checking out and they said the motel opened in 1998 and it was "due" for a "renovation". I told them it was OVERDUE. I asked them if the mattresses in the rooms had ever been replaced and they said they replace them one at the time, from time to time. I told them I could not understand why they would not replace all of them at the same time since they "rotate" the rooms frequently to experience the same level of wear and tear throughout the facility. I explained to them that I had not reported all this to the front desk sooner and I explained that after we unloaded our cart, put everything away, showered, then went to dinner, it would have been a great inconvenience to move to another room, and the desk clerk probably would not have known which room had the newest mattress, and chances are that room would have been occupied anyway. We have always had Hampton Inns at the top of our list, but my sister recently stayed in a NEW Holiday Inn Express and suggested that we try one. This turned out to be a very bad idea. No offer was made by the motel staff to adjust our bill, which was outrageous under the circumstances. I will be going back to HAMPTON INNS in the future. November 9, 2014
