Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very clean property with great breakfast After a long flight from Western Canada we were tired and pleased to find a clean, modern facility waiting for us in this hotel. The breakfast was super and the front desk staff were very helpful in giving directions to the nearest public transportation. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends. It is a bit far from the centre of Amsterdam but we enjoyed the ride on the train and meeting local people enroute. January 9, 2014

The hotel is very tidy and comfortable, as well as being convenient to Schiphol airport. We enjoyed our stay and am sure we will return. Thank you!! December 14, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job of a city/airport hotel really well I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hoofddorp many times, and other HIX too. The one at Hoofddorp is excellent - welcoming staff, spotless rooms (always), big double bed (I'm tall), easy access via rail to Amsterdam or shuttle to Schiphol, couple of restaurants around (though nothing in the hotel)... Value for money is good. Maybe the breakfast choice could be a bit more extensive and imaginative - and the coffee and fruit juice aren't special. But overall a great place for what iyou go there for. November 15, 2013

We stayed 2 nights (October 31st and November 1st). The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are clean and very comfortable. This iis our second stay at this hotel (we stayed one night last year on the way home from Amsterdam to Vancouver) and we would highly recommend this hotel. The location is very convenient as it is about a 15 minute walk into town with lots of shopping and restaurants. November 5, 2013

The staff helped my husband pack up our belongings, helped him with phone calls - even rebook our flight home to the states. Very helpful. Very thoughtful. We remain most thankful and grateful. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect except for one small thing! I stayed here with some friends visiting Amsterdam. We arrived at Schiphol at 9am and took the courtesy bus to the hotel, where we explained that we were going to the football and expected to return very late in the evening. We were expecting to just drop off our bags, but were given the keys to our rooms - which were clean, spacious and very comfortable. The staff advised about the nearby train station (5 minutes walk) and changed notes into coins as the ticket machine doesn't accept notes/cards. A very good nights sleep was followed by an excellent breakfast, with plenty of choice and efficient staff keeping it well supplied. Overall, I found only one niggle, which was the 7.50 Euro charge to take the shuttle bus TO the airport - but this would not stop me returning to this hotel if I return to Amsterdam (I would just walk to the station and get the train!!) Shuttle bus is really useful, but you need to pay 7.5EUR to go from the hotel to the airport the other way around is free of charge. October 27, 2013

There is an added bony that it is only a 10 minute walk from Hoofddorp and it's excellent shops and restaurants, a real bonus. The only dissapointment would be the breakfast which had slightly less choice than would be expected. October 24, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Was once my favorite, but not anymore For my travel to and from Europe this was one of my favorite places to stay, but there seems to be a lack of upkeep in the rooms. The walls were dirty with marks all along the sides and carpet didn't look clean. There have been several complaints about the heating and air-conditioning system posted and personally this is the 2nd time I experienced it. The room temp was set at 19 degrees C, (66 degrees F), but my little clock said the room was at 25.5 degrees C, (78 degrees F). I know from past experience that this is not resettable at the wall or can the front desk change it. Odd to me as if there is a main system control why bother with individual room controls. So all night long you are hot. Maybe ok for some people, but not for me. Too bad as the location is great and the staff excellent. Breakfast is weak with nothing hot and all the food is packaged in little baggies. October 7, 2013

Comfortable room, with space to relax and finish my work for the day. Bathroom very spacious with a great shower. Breakfast choices were very good. Checking in could have been smoother as initially the wrong room number was written on my card, but this was rectified quickly. October 1, 2013

The room was nice, although the double bed was a bit soft for my taste, and was against the wall on one side which made access for one of us a bit tricky. The shower was particularly nice with plenty of room for two. There was no bath, but that didn't bother us. There is no restaurant at the hotel so you have to eat out, but there are places within up to 15 minutes walk. September 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient, but not great My wife and I stayed overnight on our way home from Greece to the States. The bed was placed butt against a wall so that it was very awkward for two to lay in the bed. During the night my wife complained severe headach and I went to the desk to get some pain killers. The staff was very simpathetic and helpful. My biggest beef was that the shuttle bus from the airporrt to the hotel was cmplementary, but the other way was not. Their borchure does not say so and very confusing. September 26, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy to stay here again I stay regularly at the Holiday Inn Express in Hoofddorp and I'm very happy with both the service and the quality of the rooms. The staff are always very friendly without being over the top. There is rarely a queue to check-in or out. The staff are also very responsive to any requests or suggestions for improvement to the hotel. I'm still waiting for an iron and ironing board that can be brought to the room though .. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average I stayed in a twin bedroom. The space is relatively small compare other hotel I stayed in. It is 10~15 min by shuttle to airport and it cost 7 euro on the return trip. Parking is 15 euro per day, I don't think other hotel charges that. I would not want to stay there again unless necessary. September 23, 2013

Some nice eating places within 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Hotel staff especially Brandon was very courteous and helpful. He readily ordered dinners upon request. Shuttle service from the hotel back to the airport was late by 30 mins. So plan ahead and give yourself enough time to reach airport. September 19, 2013

El transporte del Aeropuerto al hotel es gratuito (el regreso no los es) La muchachas de Recepcion son muy amabales... en el desayuno le falta un poco de variedad pero para un desayuno ligero es muy bueno esta cerca una estacion de Tren que te lleva a central station la cama no se si iba muy cansado pero se me hizo muy comoda.. en fin una estancia muy buena September 19, 2013
