Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible mattress The staff was wonderful and the room was clean and appealing. The bed as well as the pillows were the worst I had ever tried to sleep on. My husband and myself both kept rolling into the middle of a terribly soft bed. Pillows with no support at all. They were even labeled as firm but certainly were not. I don't think either one of us got an hour's worth of sleep. Absolutely the worst night ever. November 10, 2012

A slight glitch with customer service when i wanted to take the train into Amsterdam, and i spoke to the supervisor on duty the following morning, and she would review my suggestions, an excellent over-all experience. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable rooms, excellent srevice The hotel is conveniently located close to Schiphol airport, so when coming in late or leaving early it is an excellent choice. The service was exceptionally good with speedy service with a smile and all the help and advice you might ever want. The room was practical and comfortable, though those of us wanting a cold room at night are a bit put off by air conditioning being heating only. The included breakfast is basic in a positive way. It includes all you need for a good start of your day but nothing else. Decent restaurants are found close by,- but why not have a meal in Amsterdam. It is only 20 minutes away (Bus+train). Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Temperature Control Room and breakfast were great, but we spent two nights sweating an an overheated room even after repeated calls to the front desk. The air conditioner in the room needs to be turned on by the front desk, but the first night it took three calls to the desk and on the third call they just told us to turn the control off. In the morning we realized if we'd turned it back on the air conditioner was on, but we spent the whole night sweating. We hoped they'd leave our thermostat alone during the day but the next night the air conditioner was back off. We called front desk again but it was never turned on, so it was another hot night. You either need to be able to control the air conditioner in the room or the windows need to open. October 27, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice for hotel near airport I booked with this hotel because of it's proximity to the Amsterdam - Schipol Airport, and my affiliation with Priotity Rewards through Holiday Inn. Another important factor was their free airport shuttle pick-up. The airport shuttle came very quickly and we were at the hotel within 20 minutes of our pickup. Check-in was fast and easy as well. After check-in we asked for directions to the nearest train station for a trip into the city center. The young lady who checked us in was very helpful, giving us directions and a map. She also came outside to point us in the right direction, when she saw us headed the wrong way. Good customer service. The rooms are quiet, clean and the beds very comfortable. There is temperature control, a nice flat-screen TV and ample light and storage. The bathroom contains a large shower with modern details. The breakfast buffet, which was included in the price, has many options and the food was plentiful. There were plenty of fresh crossiants, meat, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, and coffee, tea, milk and several juice options. It is probably one of the best breakfast buffets that I've had in a hotel offering. The only thing that I would have an issue with is the hotel shuttle service back to the airport. Upon check-in we were advised to put our name on the list for the time we wanted transport back to the airport, as the shuttle fills up fast. We added our name to the 7:30 AM shuttle, and changed it to 8:00 AM before having breakfast. After finishing breakfast, we were ready to chek-out and take the 8:00 AM Shuttle, but the shuttle was full. They apparently did not follow the "sign up sheet" list. I expressed this to the front desk, and they said that a shuttle was coming shortly from the Crown Plaza Hotel in a "few minutes." That did not happen, and we ended up waiting for the shuttle to return to the hotel from the airport. Also, we were charged 7,50 Euros pp for shuttle service tickets, but no one collected the tickets, and we wondered if others paid for the service, or just got on the shuttle. Overall, we ejoyed our stay at this hotel, and would book again and recommend it to others. October 26, 2012

Unlike the other hotel in Airport areas the hotel is changing for the Hotel Bus to the airport. Even it is mentioned (only in the hotel and not on the reservation pages) that this is a return ticket they will not charge half for going one way to the airport.. October 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Quality of Things The room was exceptionally clean and tidy, and as requested, a nonsmoking room. The shower was excellent. The breakfast options were more than expected and more than adequate. The desk personnel were courteous and concerned. We would have preferred a firmer mattress, since our mattress at home rests only on a bedboard and not a boxspring. We definitely will book again at Holiday Inn Express-Schiphol during our visits in Amsterdam. October 12, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location close to Train Stop It's was a great location and will be a great hotel once they address some issues. First you must buzz in to open the gate for access to the front lobby with your car to unload. The desk tells you to go park in the garage across the street. You need to be able to park at the door to unload!! Second the lighting in the bathroom might have been a great design idea and it looks cool, but you can't shave or put makeup on with it! You can't control the temperature in the room and the windows won't open. Staff needs to know something about their hotel. Each time I asked for assistance with an item they had no solution or help. Even that note that says if you forgot a toiletry item they would provide it, (it gives a list of item) when I asked for a toothbrush they said they don't have them. October 5, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay! Very nice new hotel with great staff and very good breakfast. Comfy bed with choice of pillow types, tea/coffee making facilities and more importantly very quiet. Staff recommended a restaurant in the area of the hotel (5 minutes walk) and it was one of the best restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of dining. The hotel has a regular shuttle service from the airport and a small fee for a journey to the airport. I would stay here again! September 30, 2012
