1, I was placed in a room (517) where it was not ready. There were used items on the floor like shoes, razor etc.
2. Flush in this room was not working.
After raising the issue, I was shifted to room 514. Next day morning, the there was water all over near fridge due to defrosting issue. All of my food in the fridge was drowning in water.
I again raised the issue and they got it fixed. I did raise all these issues and reception desk said they will talk to the manager. I did not hear anything from anyone and so I followed up with reception desk. There was new staff who had no clue what was going on. So he checked with manager (who was sitting inside). So it was decided that they will take 50% for one night and reimburse for pizza. However, when I got the final bill, there was no discount and I had to again remind them about the issue which was then corrected.

We were in Houston to visit one or our children and 3 of our grand children.
We were greeted with a friendly smile upon arrival, the room exceeded our expectations, the staff always greeted us with a smile and when the kids/grandkids came to visit, I took two of the grandkids to show them around the hotel, when we were at the front desk, the person at the desk was awesome in interacting with them (a 7 and 11 year old) ...
We liked the fact that the gates were closed and not accessible to non-guests after a certain hour, we have a fairly customized car and felt much more comfortable with it in the parking lot at this hotel.
Not only did they supply a good breakfast, there were places (What-a-burger, Cracker Barrel, Popeyes Chicken and more) within walking distance from the hotel if you wanted something close...
We really enjoyed our stay and if we were going to recommend a hotel to someone staying in the North Houston/Spring area ... this would definitely be the one...

We were catching a morning flight out of IAH. So we drove in and stayed overnight at this hotel.
It was comfortable, clean, and the staff was courteous and helpful.
