I stayed at The Holiday Inn Express in Houston while the East Coast was dealing with Hurricane Sandy. I was delayed three days in getting home and the staff was excellent during this very trying and stressful time. While spending hours at the airport trying (unsuccessfully) to fly stand-by, it was wonderful to return to the hotel and rest in a clean and spacious room. I was really missing home in NY, but they made me feel very much at home while in Houston.

Property convenient to convention center, a special event complimentary dinner upon arrival, cookies, Halloween candy, helpful staff, very clean, very quiet, comfy beds, free parking--can't ask for more!

Always stay every year that we come down to Houston Quilt Market. It is the best I think. Staff and accommodations are excellent. Would highly recommend. We love the comfortable beds and especially the pillows. Always very clean, the breakfast is wonderful and the staff are the greatest!!!

My 10 year old daughter and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express - Downtown Convention Center on October 25, 2012. We had tickets to see Madonna at the Toyota Center and this property was conveniently located. We got caught in traffic prior to our arrival so it was beyond wonderful that the hotel offered a complimentary lasagna dinner that particular evening. And Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and milk!!! We were able to park our vehicle at the hotel and walk the one city block to the Toyota Center. The staff was just amazing and so incredibly friendly. We were even given a complimentary upgrade because we were Priority Club members. There is not one negative thing to say about this hotel and we are definitely going to return in the near future!!! To quote my daughter, it was the "BEST HOTEL EVER".

Needed an affordable place to stay close to the venue with a breakfast and parking for a visit to Houston for a Blood on the Dance Floor Concert. The HIE was the perfect choice. From making a reservation, check in, getting advice and directions, breakfast and check out the experience was great, and almost effortless. All together it was a great place to stay and get a nice quiet night’s sleep at a great price. Highly recommend as a place to stay in Houston in the Convention Center area.

My wife and I stayed in Houston Texas one night. We arrived early, they up-graded our room to a suite due to the priority club with no charged.The staff were very friendly. The hotel is located in downtown, the location is great.
We enjoyed the complementary buffet breakfast and later we went to the pool (indoors). The water was clean and warm.
Overall we enjoyed our stayed!

My two daughters (age 10 & 6) and I spent one night. We were allowed to check in at 10:30 am when we arrived early for an event at the convention center. My girls loved the complementary cookies, milk, and lemonade that were out when we arrived back that evening. They had a great time in the indoor pool and breakfast the next morning was great. Lots of choices. The room itself was clean and comfortable and quiet. We would stay here again if ever back in the area.

Hotel prices always increase dramatically when a convention is on, but the Holiday Inn Express offers good value for money nevertheless, especially as the rate includes breakfast and internet access.
Rooms are spacious, plenty of room to work, and lights in the right places. Air conditioning is effective if a little noisy. Bed comfortable with good selection of pillows. Only criticisms - the carpet looks dirty with stains in a few places, and the air vent in the bathroom really could do with cleaning ! And as there's very little within walking distance nearby, a small bar would be good !
Otherwise, the hotel provides everything a business traveller could want to a reasonably high standard at a good value for money.

This hotel was perfect! Free parking! We walked to the astro's game two night in a row. Everything you need for downtown Houston entertainment is right out the front door of this Holiday Inn Express!

is next to convention center but there is nothing else around the
hotel if your walking....downtown houston is totally boring.

Enjoyed my stay tremendously. Hotel located in great proximity to convention center. Nice walk daily. Rooms clean and comfortable. Access to internet available on demand. Better yet, it was free. Very nice appearance. Easy access to I-45.

This hotel was fabulous. The pool was heated perfectly. They offered complimentary cookies, milk, and lemonaid each evening (which my kids LOVED). Towels were very soft. The only complaint I could make was that our carpet was a little worn and our pillows were a little too firm. VERY pleased overall!!

This reasonably priced Holiday Inn is in what is called "mid town Houston" although significantly cheaper than other downtown and midtown hotels. Even better, if in town for the basketball arena (Toyota), convention center (Brown) or baseball (Minute Maid) it is an easy and safe walk to all of these sites. Typical Holiday Inn Express...there is a hot (but not gourmet) free breakfast every morning, free wireless access all over the property, and more importantly for a downtown hotel, free parking (highly unusual and valuable) and the beds are very comfortable and the shower is excellent (in the end, aren't these the most important things?) This is an excellent value for the money and convenience.

The A/C leaked in the room, It had been leaking didn't notice till next morning! staff acted like they didn't care. No help moving from room to room and I hadmy Great Neice a 4 month old. I did a survey on this before and got no responce!

We attended a Youth Conference down the street at the Convention Center. Just a block's walk. Great place to stay. Shopping and eating close by at an indoor mall. Personnel went out of the way to make sure our stay was pleasant.
