Decent value; the biggest plus for this hotel was it's proximity to the location where I had business which was just inside the 610 loop. I was able to avoid most of the typical traffic snarl.

Professional management staff. Check in / check out was easy and billing was correct. One elevator was not functioning during our stay making getting to our room quite difficult. On the morning of check out, we went out for a short walk and planned to depart at check out time with our friends occupying another room. By the time the elevator got us back to our floor it was 11:30 am. Housekeeping had already cleaned the room and our key would not allow entry, although it was 30 mins. before check out time. A housekeeper cleaning a nearby room was notified, but would not allow entry because room was cleaned. Not making a final inspection a picture was left in the room which we had to have a relative retrieve. If check out is 12pm, rooms should not be cleaned unless occupants have physically checked out.

I ENJOYED THE STAY HERE, IT WAS QUIET, CHECK IN WAS QUICK BUT THE OFFICE LADY LOOKED ANNOYED WITH WORKING. HER SERVICE WAS A BIT RUDE. I HAD TO ASK WHERE MY ROOM WOULD BE AND SHE JUST SAID UPSTAIRS. I WAS SHOCKED BUT IT SURE DIDN'T RUIN MY WEEKEND. THE PRICE I PAID WAS FAIR BEING A SUITE BUT I'VE HAD FAR BETTER STAYS AT OTHER PLACES FOR CHEAPER PRICES. BREAKFAST SAME AS USUAL BUT IT WILL DO FOR THE BABY SO I DIDN'T PUT UP TOO MUCH OF A FUSS. THE BEDS WERE HARD AND ONLY HAD SHEETS NO BLANKETS.
OVERALL THOUGH IT WAS GOOD, I WOULD DEF CONSIDER STAYING HERE AGAIN.

For the past several years, I have frequented this hotel every few months. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. During my last stay, there were some unpleasant surprises. As a frequent guest and long-time rewards member, I have become accustomed to the little things that make me feel welcome. One of these, of course, is the complimentary breakfast that Holiday Inn Express is known for. There is also complimentary coffee for those who enjoy a hot caffeinated drink all day. One perk I've always enjoyed in the past was the complimentary bottled water. Water is my beverage of choice, and, seriously, a 24-pack of the generic kind is $3.00 at Wal-Mart. I was charged $1.00 a bottle for water (generic brand). That's a pretty blatant profit of $21 for a case of water. Especially since I was not told ahead of time that the new management had implemented this change. New management: you're not winning customers this way. It makes you look cheap and run-of-the-mill. Instead, New Management, focus on fixing the dripping faucets in the bathtub and make sure to turn on the hot water at night - another issue I won't get into here. The complimentary water is one those things you do NOT want to change. Give this some thought.

We were in town to attend a football game. We were able to relax in a comfortable bed and enjoy a quiet room. The breakfast choices were good and the food was good. The fitness room was well maintained and I was able to get a good cardio workout. Although we were close to the freeway it was not noticeable within the hotel.
There were not enough nearby places to eat.

I have stayed at numerous HI EX Properties but this one is by far one of the top 2!! This Inn is perfect for Downtown, Memorial Park and the Galleria. I mean, you literally do not have to get on the frwy to go somewhere. The hotel is quiet, lots of room to park and the breakfast is AWESOME!! The only "concern" I would have is the space for the breakfast. It's kinda tight but I managed.
I arrived earlier than planned and the front desk was already for me. Of course we are promised an early check in but they had my room ready and it was nice...Smelled good, clean and everything was working...I literally can not say enough about this Inn. I will certainly stay here again...Thanks HI Express...Great job!!

Our experience at this hotel was positive from the moment we walked in the front door. Registration was quick and easy, the room was large, clean, and comfortable, and staff was friendly. Abundant breakfast choices, and the cinnamon roll was warm and tasty. We will stay here again the next time we visit Houston.

I expected that my room had an iron; it did not. Perhaps I was expecting too much? It did have an ironing board so I believe my expectations justified. I called to the desk for an iron. They acted as if the call was odd because there was no way an iron could not be in the room. They said they would send one up, they did not. I then went downstairs to the front desk. They said they would send an iron up, they did not. The next day, on my way out I again stopped at the front desk and asked for an iron. They apologized and the woman at the desk told me she would bring an iron to my room personally, she did not. I can't believe everyone was so put out with my request to satisfy me with an iron. Customer service is not a key aspect at this hotel.

We stayed a full week in Houston to visit our son.The Holiday Inn Express was the closest place to stay near his apartment. The rooms were clean comfortable and roomy. The staff was excellent and our stay was very enjoyable.

Only stayed one night on our way to the Texas coast, but the hotel was clean, is in a great location to access Houston, and our room was very spacious. The breakfast in the morning was as expected for HI Express. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your Houston travels.

There were a few problems during our stay. One elevator didn't go to the 6th floor(our floor) and remained broken for the 4 days we were there. Also, all 3 soda machines were dispensing incorrect drinks. You would not receive the drink selected. Finally......After 2 days our key cards stopped working and we had to have them replaced in order to gain access to the room. We have stayed in this hotel many times. We were disappointed with our stay this time

Had a very enjoyable stay. The front desk staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. The room was clean and the A/C worked great. The pillows were soft. The furniture was in great shape, and the room was furnished so elegantly, like the wall hangings; the drapes and the lounge chair with ottoman were in a gorgeous fabric. And the breakfast attendant did such a good job, she even cleared our plates for us, just like a restaurant. Just loved it!

Everything about our stay was perfect, that is why we choose this location and will continue to do. Friendly check-in staff address you by name , housekeeping and maintenance greet you in the hallways, and breakfast bar attendant welcomes you to breakfast with a "Good morning".
Also, the complimentary gift bags given at check in make a person feel special and that we matter to you.Thanks.
I will continue to recommend this location to family and friends because the staff here is second to none!!!!

As usual, our HIE experience was a great one! From the moment we checked in, I felt like a valued customer and Rewards Club member. The front desk staff member who checked us in and out was very friendly and personable. Our room was clean, cool, and relaxing. Our restroom was adequately stocked with clean towels and toiletries. Every employee we encountered was friendly and offered their assistance. The location was great, too. Easy access to Memorial Park, Washington Ave/Montrose, The Galleria, and West University. Great experience - will continue to stay at HIE!

At breakfast I was made to feel guilty for asking for additional hard boiled eggs. I don't pay the rate that I pay to be questioned as to why I would want a certain amount of a breakfast item.
I will not be returning to this property.

We were able to find a room quickly without prior reservation, room was superclean. I especially appreciated the quietness of the room, especially since the hotel is right on the highway. Very little road noise leaked into the room.
Staff was extremely helpful, espcially the manager. She truly had a servant's heart.
We were able to rest comfortably, eat a good breakfast and head back home.
This experience was especiallyy helpful because we had to cut our vacation short because I had fallen at a restaurant and sprained my ankles.

Bath light would not work. No one even tried to fix it. We were told: "We don't have on site maintainance". Pretty interesting night with a totally dark bathroom. We were disappointed. Seems like they could fix that.

I DO NOT recommend the Memorial Park hotel.
Very disappointing experience.
We were there early June 2013.
Room was not clean.
No cold water 1 day (try to take a shower!!).
Air cond broken (Fan on 24-7) and extremelly noisy.
WiFi signal not stable.
I mentioned the issues to the front desk they sent the service person, but it made no good.
Overall, I found that my room was not even close to the standard of quality that I have been used to at other Holiday Inn Express.

When we checked in we were greeted by the friendly front desk staff..we were given our priority club welcome bag which was a bottle of water a granola bar and a map of Houston but the very best part was opening the door to our room and feeling the blast of cold air. Anyone that has been to Houston knows how big a deal cold a/c is!
The next morning while getting breakfast a man ask how our stay was going and I told him everything was wonderful. I ask him where i could get water for the hot water dispenser and he said he would get right on it. It was refilled in under two minutes and he came back around to make sure that it had been taken care of.
Friendly staff. Clean room. COLD room. We stay at a lot of Holiday Inns and this one has top notch customer service.

First of all I stay in a king jacuzzi suite room. We went there for a romantic getaway. I loved it. Customer service was wonderful both times check in and check out. They were two different girls. Very friendly staff. I felt with a warm welcome. I wish I could of gotten the two girls name to recommend them. My boyfriend and I loved the room. Also we were able to sleep really good. Plus I booked the room a lil bit early and I got it for a very good price. We are definitely coming back because of great customer service and the comfortableness in staying at that hotel. Thank you so much for your wonderful experience!!
