Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service. Pros: Check in and check out was quick and simple. I liked the security of a key needed to open the first floor elevator. I arrived a little before check in time (1500) so the room was not ready but I can live with that. The room looked updated as did the hotel. The wireless internet was always easy to work with. I slept great and had a great overall experience. Cons: Poor channel selection. For the price I paid, I was suprised to see a channel lineup with about 20 channels, 3 of which were ESPN, so really about 17 channels. The hard boiled eggs for breakfast tasted like they were prepared maybe 3-4 days before my arrival. I saw the bacon for breakfast and assumed there would be some scrambled eggs. Wrong. Maybe some scrambled eggs to go with the bacon could have made up for the bad tasting hard boiled eggs. February 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall very good experience. Comfortable bed. good service. Nice staff but very noisy while making the next door rooms. They forget the other rooms can hear them. Some like or need to sleep in sometimes. Overall very good experience.Thx. February 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best HI Express We've Stayed At This hotel was really wonderful! We almost always stay with HI/HI Express. Some are better than others, obviously. This one was really top notch. It's a beautiful hotel. It's 10 minutes from our son's house. The bill came out $30 less than we thought it would. The breakfast was really excellent. And the staff even called up 20 minutes or so after we checked in to ask if everything was satisfactory and if we needed anything. That was a first! This is our Houston hotel from now on! Excellent job, y'all! December 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not stay here! As the other reviewers have pointed out, this is a very poor hotel and the worst HI you are likely to visit. The issues are well covered but here are my 2 cents... Expect to get the room you reserved? Forget it. Expect a helpful or even sympathetic staff. No way. Bothered by sleeping in an ashtray? Too bad. Have questions on your bill? Save your breath. This hotel's location may be convenient for your needs but the area is not good. There is a fence around the property but dont expect your vehicle or belongings to be secure. November 27, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Security Issues however front desk people were friendly I would not recomned this hotel to women traveling alone or men who do not wish to be solicited to. The hotel from the outside is attractive and the lobby is average, however, the rooms are dated and not up to the cleanliness of most HI Express. The smell when we got off the elevator smelled like bug spray mixed with mildew. It was very uncomfortable being in the breakfast area if you spoke only english and were female. The front desk people were very friendly and efficient. November 13, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst HI Visit Ever Despite making a reservation for a King bed, non-smoking unit, I was stuck with a double bed smoking unit that stank to high heavens. I spoke to the manager who refused to admit she made a mistake and claimed there were no other rooms available. The reservation line however claimed there were two more King bed, non -smoking rooms available. The worst Holiday Innn Expereince ever! I received no recognition as a Priority Club Member. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Was charged Double After i checked out and received my receipt for one night that showed paid in full. Three days later I got charged for another night. After several calls to the Hotel, where I was told the General Manager knew of my problem and would call me back, I called to speak with the General Manager who acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. She told me it was high priority . To date she has not contacted me. I REALLY believe I am getting the run around. Don't stay here, unless you like paying double. NOTE: I Checked out on the 30th. This Review Shows I checked out on the 31st. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! November 4, 2012

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience I have been stay at this hotel every 2 month, but my last visit on Oct first of the week make me sick, maybe their management changed. The front desk staff need to re-educate, they mess up all my reservation .... Terrible. !! October 19, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn to date after staying at over 100 different locations Where do I start? Hope this sums it up. If you're a platinum member, DONT STAY HERE!!!!For that matter, if you're just a regular business traveler, heed the above warning. This hotel is far below expectations and they treat the critters skittering around in their rooms better than their guests. From day one their attitude was hostile, rude and unprofessional. There was no recognition for being a platinum member and they stuck us in a handicap room to add further insult because we paid through a third party site. So in their books that means you don't even deserve a standard room. It was a constant battle, from trying to get the room cleaned since we stayed multiple nights, to chasing some death resistant black bug that managed to get a few bites in,(We left that in the drawer for housekeeping after we finally ended it's life, sniffle)to being told that we didn't have another reservation even though we mentioned that that the stay was extended even before we checked in. Towards the end after multiple calls to priority club headquarters, their attitude marginally shifted to a better position as we checked out. Now we are avoiding this hotel from appearing in bookings and enjoying our 4 star room in West Houston for the past week. We may not be platinum with them, but at least they treat us far better and with much more dignity and courtesy than this location ever could or will. This experience is enough to shift our loyalty to a competitor chain's frequent traveler program that is more consistent with their standards and offers far more to their loyal customers then a cold, dismissive shoulder. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Service Service Service Kindness Kindness Kindness This was the MOST friendly and helpful staff I have ever encountered at any hotel anywhere! As a frequent traveler I have stayed at many many hotels, mostly Holiday Inn Express. I felt more welcome and appreciated here than anywhere before. EVERYONE on staff was pleasant. EVERYONE! I have never answered one of these surveys before but felt this staff deserved a pat on the back! September 17, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for Family Vacation When my family and I travel to a city we have never visited - I spend a lot of time researching hotels comparing reviews, costs, location etc....My biggest fear is booking a hotel that "appears" to fit all our wants and needs on the Internet but upon arrival - It is a huge disappointment and/or the location is horrible! When we pulled into this Holiday Inn Express, the hotel was nice and the grounds were clean and well maintained. I did not like the fact it was located right next to the interstate and the location/neighborhood appeared questionable. Ohhh, how my first impression was very wrong! The Good: *We stayed 4 nights - Never heard a sound from the interstate! In fact, we loved having the interstate next to us! (Anyone that has traveled to Houston is aware the traffic can be a nightmare) *The location was PERFECT - It turned out the neighborhood was fine and there are plenty of restaurants near by. *Pool area was nice and clean (we have 2 kids so a pool is a requirement) *Our room/restroom was VERY CLEAN! *Bed was comfortable (4 pillows on each bed ) *We ate breakfast at the hotel each morning. It is a FREE breakfast, it is not a gourmet restaurant so we were not expecting a chef to cook our food for us! They had an assortment of foods to choose from; cereal, bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, pancakes, waffles, bagels, several fresh fruits along with juices and coffee. The area was clean, they kept everything stocked and fresh! If you don't like it, Denny's is within walking distance! The Bad: (This is all I could come up) *We wanted a mini kitchen in our room - or atleast a microwave and fridge. They are only available in rooms with 1 king bed which could not accommodate our family. *When we arrived, the carpets were being cleaned. The carpet and bathroom floor in our room were completely soaking wet. It made our suitcase, socks and feet wet and the bathroom floor was rather slippery the first night. But -- we were just happy to know the floors had been cleaned. Summary: If you are looking for a nice, clean hotel located in a great area with a friendly staff ---- this place will suit your needs! It is not a $super$ fancy high priced hotel---so do not expect the red carpet to be rolled out for you while your car is being valet parked. August 6, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of focus As a regular customer to Holiday Inn chain, I needless to say have encountered numerous hotels in different countries. As a result I have maintained platinum level membership to the Priority Club program. To be honest, this was easily the biggest disappointment of a hotel that I have stayed at within the IHG. : Lack of parking : guests drinking and smoking in front of hotel entrance : had to wait for key pass even though checked in. : no recognition of being a frequent stayer to Holiday Inn. : bathroom was not cleaned adequately : no USA today paper dropped off at room : no final billing statement dropped off at room : breakfast was limited (although free!) There are better hotels than this at a better rate per night in Houston! July 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Everything was so great, the staff was perfect.. the room was great. the front desk lady Annie was very very helpful. I will be coming back to the hotel. July 10, 2012
