Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hot tub -- average pillows Nice hotel. Clean. Breakfast choices were about what I expected: yoghurt, muffins, cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage links, make-your-own pancakes station, fresh fruit and such. Staff kept the breakfast room very clean, wiping tables often. The highlight was the excellent pool and hot tub. Lots of pool towels available. Comfortable atmosphere to relax in despite the pool/hot tub area being right in the front of the hotel next to the lobby. The only downside was that the pillows were not very accommodating. That is to say, that even though three were provided for each of the two queen beds in my room, and were labeled "soft" and "firm", there wasn't much difference and none of them was very squishable #that's probably not a word, but some picky sleepers may know what I mean# nor very firm. Heating unit was, as expected, a bit noisy as it turned on and off during the night. And the shower was nice, but there was a second hand-held unit that was completely useless since it would not spit out more than a few drops water. There was also a distinct lack of places to hang towels in the bathroom -- only one hook at shower - no bar behind the door or additional hooks on the walls. Had very little interaction with the staff, but check-in person was pleasant. A nice 'plus' is the slightly larger than expected refrigerator in the room. It could actually hold a 'to go' box form a restaurant plus beverages. Great location for Hudson area. I'd stay there again. November 21, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nightmare After navigating the obnoxious and offensive "safeguards" this hotel imposes on its guests to ensure their quiet and comfort, I found the staff and management of this hotel completely uninterested in any such thing. Unbelievable noise outside the window from shoddy snow removal equipment, unbelievable noise inside the room from one of the many alarm clocks waking us with a klaxxon call at 2:30 a.m. I was unable to get proper rest for an important business presentation the next day, and what I got from the staff was "we'll take care of it." Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel The hotel is clean and well kept. There were just some annoying little things. I wish they would stop serving "Lite" yogurt at breakfast. Healthy does NOT include aspartame or other artificial sweeteners. Couldn't they provide Lite for those who want to watch their calories and regular yogurt for those of us who want to eat healthy? At least give us a choice. Also, the morning staff on Sunday were not on top of things. They didn't release the back door lock from the evening lockdown so when we put stuff in our car, we couldn't get back in the building but had to go around to the front door. Also, there weren't trays out for breakfast and the staff were no where to be found. November 4, 2014
