Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room for Improvement Swimming pool changing room/bathroom was wet and messy. Towels were missing and we were told they did not have any towels and we should bring it from our rooms. That meant walking all the way back ( after we had changed to our swimsuits). Extra blanket was not sent to room for nearly 30 mins and finally on calling front desk was told that he was slammed and could not do it at that time. seems the owner is trying to cheap out on the use of towels,,, did not expect this type of service in a Holliday Inn Express. We are IHG rewards memebers and front desk clerk could not access our rewards account nor could he add that days stay to it. Very disappointing experience as compared to other Holiday Inn. It was such a relief to have a comfortable and clean room to rest in. The breakfast host on Monday morning was on top of the breakfast room, making sure it was clean and the food was restocked quickly. September 4, 2014

Yes, the bed here was more comfortable than many of the hotels I stay in, and the dinner recommendation to the Brick House just a mile or 2 down the road really made for a great evening. I did note that there was not a single hand towel in the bathroom and the toilet seat was loose... nether worth complaining about, but I did let the manager know in morning. Not too many hotel choices in the area, but compared to other Holiday Inn Express, this was decent, and again, dining at the Brick House was exceptional, and reasonably priced. September 3, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Free breakfast nice, but outdated smoky environment at too high of a price I had just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Holland, MI,and was impressed with the hotel and experience overall. So, I was disappointed when I pulled up to this Holiday Inn (visiting my son at the local college) and found it a bit shabby looking. We arrived late at night and the beds were comfortable, but there was the stale smell of smoke in the room and burns on the bathtub and toilet. It's great having the free breakfast in the AM, but it closed at 9:30am, which wasn't great timing for the two kids who were sleeping in a bit late on a Sunday. It seems like they are having trouble with smokers in the hotel as there is a sign posted at the check-in desk. I just felt like the environment was a little dirty all the way around. For paying over $100/night, the perceived value just wan't there. August 20, 2014

Most HIE I go to has news of some kind on in the breakfast room. I found this hotel the attendant liked to watch the old shows on TVLand channel in the morning. The breakfast associate is very friendly and keeps the place spotless, very helpful, The excercise bike needs maintenance attention, the electrical programs need to be checked, they do not function.I use to receive the USA newspaper at the door in recognition of being a Platinum Elite Member, for some reason this was discontinued. The claning sanitized wipes in the excercise room are frequently neglected, same as the towels. Just thought I would bring this to your attention,and make your hotel better. May 2, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Experience Had a 3-day stay. The first day we left (with the cleaning cart in the hallway), returning later that night to find the room totally untouched. (not cleaned) As we needed to go to the front desk to get fresh towels, shampoo, etc., we were told by the desk clerk that we should stop by again when the general manager was there, because they have a history of problem employees and our experience was not new. We were also told the general manager would want to contact us. (never happened) Over the next 2 days, every time we stopped by the front desk (multiple times as we came in and out), we were told he wasn't there. We can understand a room being missed in cleaning, however we cannot understand the total lack of response to the customer or the apparent lack of dealing with problem employees affecting customers' experience. Interestingly enough upon checkout, we were not even asked about our stay. We will have opportunity to stay in the area again in the future, but will not stay at this HIE based on the total lack of management response to issues. March 15, 2014

We've stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn Expresses and this one was average. This is good property with a nice breakfast, pool, hot tub and pleasant staff. We are Priority Club Members and were recognized when we arrived. February 22, 2014
