Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great desk clerk I would say that this Holiday Inn Express (HIE) is an average hotel overall and a below average Holiday Inn Express. I have stayed in many different ones (HIE) across the country and this one in my opinion is behind the other ones. This one did not have a microwave or fridge which we use and like to have in our room. The hotel was also a little dated. The beds were also not as comfortable as normal HIE beds. February 26, 2014

I've stayed here several times and like the Location for my Business Travel, the Two-Room Suites that allow Smoking, the Breakfasts and Manager's Happy Hour. However, during my last 2-night stay my room had a musty odor from the HVAC and the plumbing in one of the Bathrooms had a dry sump smell that wouldn't go away. I resolved it with a Candle and some Incense and told the Front Desk so I'm sure it will be remedied before my next stay. February 23, 2014

It was unseasonably cool and there was so much cold air entering the room that the first night I packed pillows around the unit. The next morning a USA Today was outside my room and after I read it I used it to seal around the unit to help keep the cold out. A huge waste of energy. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Internet and accessilility to room Overall the room was very good and comfortable, but I could not stay connected to the internet and I contacted tech support and was still not able to connect, I had no problem with my laptop at other internet connections on my trip. Also the building I was in, only had a staircase and you had to go to the rear of building to access these stairs, not very convenient for a Holiday Inn Express. February 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rocket City Marathon Hotel and staff were very well set to accommodate runners for Rocket City Marathon. Staff was very friendly and and knowledgeable about marathon. Shuttle service was available to start of race. Late checkout was available to runners. Breakfast bar was well stocked and opened early to accommodate runners. Overall a great experience. Also, our room was spotless( Room 351). Thanks. We will be back next year. December 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Very Pleased I walked to the counter and was promptly greeted by staff, check in was quick and easy, and I was informed of breakfast hours and internet information. I noticed it was an older Hotel, but well maintained. My room was in the same building as the check in desk, so that was covenient. My room was exceptionally clean, smelled good and the heater was set to 67 degrees, as it was cold when I arrived. The Hotel is right off a major road, so I was worried about traffic noise as I am a lite sleeper, but to my surprise I heard nothing at all. This is a good place to stay, and when I come back I will stay there again. December 17, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by time dispute for the breakfast time I have to say that while the front desk was very accomodating, I was quite disappointed that the front desk and the breakfast area were not on the same page when it came to times. The front desk was telling everyone that checked in that breakfast would be served until 10:30 am seeing as it was the Thanksgiving Holiday but when I arrived in the breakfast area at 9:25 am the woman in charge of the breakfast was already starting to pack everything up for the day. I asked her if there was a mistake due to the front desk notifying everyone that the breakfast would be open until 10:30 am. She stated that she always closes at 9:30 am on the weekdays and she makes no exceptions for holidays. She said that everyone should be up and going anyway and they wouldn't miss out. There were 4 more people that came as I was sitting and finishing my breakfast that all were turned away as she made the same statement that she never stays open until 10:30 for the holidays and that the front desk had made mistake in telling them so. As far as I know, she never called the front desk or the manager to confirm that they had not changed the time for the holiday and many of the guests went away angry due to her attitude towards the situation.
