Holiday Inn Express - great location. The breakfast was very good. There were 2 young ladies who did a great job keeping breakfast area well stocked and did not have an issue of running out item. They were very helpful too. The room was spacious and very clean.
We would highly recommend staying here & will be back again.
The only "negative" would be that the hot tub needs to be updated.

After a billing problem when checking out, the manager got everything straightened out. The breakfast was fantastic. The accommodations clean and comfortable. We really didn't notice any road noise outside. If you are attending a Colt's game, or the downtown convention center, this is the place to stay.

While this hotel was in a great location and our stay was favorable, the room needed some work. The shower curtain rod wasn't properly anchored to the wall so the curtain wouldn't stay closed and water ended up all over the floor every time we showered. While some of the front desk staff were attentive, a couple of workers were not. One didn't even acknowledge our presence while he took forever to order his dinner over the phone. While checking out we waited forever for the gal to complete her phone call only to answer another call while still making us wait while other workers wandered in and out. Since we weren't acknowledged, We chose to leave without talking with her. Very poor customer service!

Great location, right next to Lucas Oil Stadium. Close to shopping and dining. Downtown area felt very safe.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Raff24 Staff was a little rude
I have stayed at plenty of Holiday Inn Express and I always have a great experience. But at downtown Indy the staff was a little rude no one said hello no one smiled it just felt like i was being an inconvieniance to them I didnt get that welcome feeling I usually get.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jenandkids Great hotel, bad service at front desk
The hotel is great. Clean rooms, nice looking rooms, comfortable bed, decent breakfast and dining area, good price, and decent pool (though too much chlorine). The front desk left a lot to be desired. The minute we walked to the front desk I felt as though I was intruding on their time. My being there with my family was not as important as what appeared to be business men. My husband is a business man and wanted to get the points transferred to his account. But the woman watched him walk up to the desk and when he was within 2 feet she walked away. I guess because he was with his family?? When she came back to the front desk she ignored my husband and ask the guy to the left but behind him if she could help him. Needless to say my husband is disgusted and probably will think twice before using them for business again. We didn't feel very comfortable with asking them any questions about area restaurants with the fact that they acted like this. So that is my major complaint. Fortunately, we had been to Indy before and are pretty resourceful, even though we do like to find out so local flavors and kid friendly venues.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MikeFromWisconsin Overall, a good room, a good value
In addition to being right across the street from the stadium, this hotel is within easy walking distance of the Indiana Convention Center. We picked this hotel because its rates were a little bit better than other nearby "official convention" hotels, plus we have good familiarity with the Holiday Inn Express brand, so we knew what to expect.
The room was impeccably clean, with crisp, fresh linens. The breakfast each day was robust, though I wish they'd turn the TV down (or off).
I had a few issues (like a hotel-wide internet failure, and an anemic air conditioner), and after the first hot night was moved to an alternate room. As much as this was an annoyance for me, it also appeared to be a big annoyance to the staff. But the AC in the new room worked fine.
Another little thing was that the invoice slipped under the door did not include all four nights of my stay, just the first three. The final night was apparently added to my account after the invoice was prepared. I called the hotel the next day and was emailed a correct invoice... but there was no hint of an apology. It's as if this oversight was a regular occurrence.
Subsequent discussions with hotel management set everything right. I am looking forward to my next visit to this hotel the next time I'm in Indianapolis.
