When we arrived our cards would not work in the door and we had to get a maintenance man to change the batteries. That took a little time. Once in the room for a while we noticed the air conditioner sounded really loud. We turned the temp down to 65 and it never got cooler than 76. Loud AC unit and not functioning properly. The next day I filled the jaccuzi tub with water and the jets did not work. Tried several times with no luck. I spent more money on the room just to get the jaccuzi tub. What a disappointment. Staff was friendly though.

My visit to the hotel was during a huge conference at the Indianapolis Convention Center. During my visit, the hotel staff went out of their way to provide great service.

Great stay, but needs improvement!
We found the rooms to be clean but when we asked for new sheets we found they were just turned over. Beyond that little issue and the fact we had left trash in the room, that was not picked up.. ie they were in a garbage bag near the little garbage pails. Both of those could be explained as a lack of communication except we told the housekeeping staff about it and they said OK. Other than that, the stay was experience free, the shower had great running water that never went cold. The breakfast was great, and we never saw a lack of food (we usually got there before 9AM). There was room to eat, but since we ate in the room this was not a problem. The pool had a little too much chlorine smell but was clean and the kids loved it. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Overall it was good stay

As a priority club member, I always stay at Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express. While my family stay at this particular hotel was good overall, our full-size beds were not comfortable at all. One could feel the adverse impact of the spring in the mattress. I think Holiday Inn needs to change all mattresses to Pillow-Top type. Suffice to say that I have never had this level of discomfort with Holiday inn Beds before. Overall, the hotel is nice with great customer service. I will stay there again, but not in the rooms with full-size beds.

As a priority club member, I try to stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels as much as possible. This particular hotel was average - in not the best sense of the word. I booked online but even as a priority member received no benefit at all - standard room rate, no special check in speed, no little baggie with a cookie and a water. (Why did I bother signing up for priority again?)
The room was an average Holiday Inn Express room. The location was great with lots of restaurants and shopping near by and a quick trip to downtown Indianapolis.
The air conditioner was either freezing cold when on or stifling hot when not, which made for difficult sleeping. The fridge in our room made a clicking sound all night long as well. The internet stopped working half-way through our stay and never came back on. I was told the manager was working on it - not much help if you needed to download a boarding pass or something.
The ice machine didn't work on our floor so we had to go a floor down to use the ice machine. The hallways were stifling hot - as if the hallway air units weren't functioning correctly.
I was startled to see and hear barking dogs in the hallways, but was informed by the front desk that this was a pet-friendly hotel.
Only one of the treadmills in the exercise room worked properly.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful. But it became obvious to me that the problem was most likely the manager or management of the hotel. When so many things are in dis-repair, the problem doesn't lie in one particular thing but with the people that are supposed to be keeping all of the functions of the hotel up and running.
All in all, it wasn't the best Holiday Inn experience I've ever had.
If I had a choice of this or another Holiday Inn Express a few minutes away, I'd probably choose a different hotel.

Rude mgr observed as I approached the counter to check in. A guest asked for extra towels and wash cloths and was told rudely that he could have only two per room. Guest objected and mgr again refused before finally giving in. Guest looked at me in disbelief.

Let me start with the second I walked in as loaded with my wearyTraveling family. Jaclyn checked us in ASAP and turned her attention to the kids, not a usual blah blah hello kids but a genuine "hi" and went into her secret stash of Stickers that made weary faces bright and perky! The room was immaculate and was not only cleaned perfectly but our stuffed animals were often placed with love around the room and our pack n'play linens even folded! Breakfast was pleasant and accompanied by even nicer staff! The pool smaller but fun. If I had one downside, our room wasn't as large as some from Holiday Inn Express but who cares when a hotel goes above and beyond like this one does!

We booked our hotel through a third-party and they quoted us $100 under the true price. Since I confirmed the reservation with a front desk employee at the hotel the day before, the GM honored our low quote. In fact, he actually charged us $30 less than we expected to pay.
My only criticism would be that the pool gets extremely crowded every night. The hotel seems big enough to utilize twice the size of their pool.
But excellent service and price!

My partner and I recently stayed at this Holiday Inn Express and were very pleased with the service of the staff and management. We are from Ontario, Canada and were travelling through to Pennsilvania and decided to stop overnight in Indianapolis. The hotel rate was great and we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and modernized rooms. The two front desk girls were exceptional with their big smiles and efficiency of check in. We happened to forget quite a large sum of money in the room when we left the next day and realized this eight hours away from Indianapolis. We contacted the front desk and explained this to one of the lovely girls there and she remembered us from the night before. She told us the room was now occupied again but she would go and check to see if the money was still in the spot we told her about. 5 minutes later she came back on the phone and said she had found it. She put the money in the safe until the manager came in the next day. He then called us in Pennsilvania and said he would wire the money to us through the local Walmart. Within about 1\2 an hour he called us again and said it was there for us to pick up. We commend him and the front desk girl for their honesty and efficiency. A big thank-you to Jaclyne and Bill.

Found the staff to be very friendly. The bed was fine, but the pillows not particularly comfortable. Nice room. Appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. Nice large bathroom; good water pressure in the shower. My small dog was welcome, but with a $50 up charge. No doggie waste station, so bring your own bags. Breakfast is okay. Appreciated scrambled eggs; wish there was more fruit.

What a great motel, great friendly staff at check in and check out . The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable .Nice and quiet room. And the breakfast bar had plenty of stuff. My wife loves the pancakes . We will stay here again when we come up to Lndy. Again Thank You for a great stay

Can't thank the reception girls enough for helping us out with a drop in reservation. They were able to book us two rooms, the most important one being a handicap and also having the good sense of allowing pets.. Wish that more Holiday Inns would allow this..When your traveling by car, a handicap and a dog, when you come upon a Hotel that has a pet policy and is a nice, clean, friendly place you will remember it for the next trip traveling by Indianappolis.

My family of four stayed in a King-Sofa bed room. The room was much bigger than expected and the bathroom was huge!! Complimentary breakfast was nice, they just need a larger room to serve the food from. The pool was nice, my kids loved that part. I will stay here again the next time we visit Indy.
Location was great. 20 mins from zoo and children's museum. 15 Mins from mall, shopping and restaurants!

For a good, basic place to stay this is a reasonable hotel. I was very disappointed with housekeeping (their schedule and ability to actually leave the bathroom clean). When we checked in there were several long black hairs left on the floor of the bathroom, right in the middle of the floor where it was very obvious that they didn't care to pick them up. Another day housekeeping never showed up to service our room, the next day they hadn't shown up by 2:30 p.m. so I had to request service. They also forgot to leave us towels that day.

Advertised free WiFi. When it didn't work in our room, I called the front desk. She told me that I had to call a service provider and the number was with my WiFi access codes. I called them and after spending about 45 minutes on the phone, they determined that my signal was too weak and that they needed to reboot the system at the hotel. I called the front desk and told them what the provider had said. The person on said they didn't know anything about that and would see if someone else did. Nothing happened and I had no call back. Went to bed.
Also, when I was on the phone with the service provider, they told me I had the wrong logon. The instructions I got said to enter the word guest and the number given. It should have told me to enter the word guest and my room number preceded by a 0.

My review points:
HVAC system has thermostat on wall that also lets you control fan. I like the fan "on" always to mask any outside noise. (did not notice any noise)
HD TV was set up with channels properly inputted to allow surfing up & down the channels.
Guest Laundry was well maintained and reasonable. Front desk even supplied soap.
Attentive breakfast staff .

I have been staying at the Holiday Inn Express South in Indianapolis for the past month or two. Mandi and her staff have always been attentive to my needs, and always greet you with a smile, morning or night. The rooms have always been clean and spacious. Great job everyone!!

We stayed here during our grandaughter's dance competition. We were given an excellent price for our room due to the number of families needing accomoditations. They went out of their way to make our stay stress free.
We were given a meeting room for the girls to use. Made make up and hair morning go a lot smoother. Usually they are crammed into someone's room. Here, everyone had their own table, with plenty of room. Believe me when I say hair spray and make up were flying all over. The little ones had room to run off some excess energy without bothering the other guests.
The staff was genuinely interested about the outcome of the competition which made the girls feel really special.
The room was clean, bedding, bath towels all up to,par.
We will certainly use them again!!!

Purchased the family fun package with the children's museum and the zoo. Excellent value. No problems with any of the tickets. Requested adjoining rooms and a crib - got both with no problem. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable, breakfast was really good. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Couldn't ask for more.

Staff in general were very friendly, and the room was ok int erms of size.
Property feels old, the bathroom felt very dirty, toilette all scrathced up, dirty tiles etc. The bed sheets and pillow covers were all wrinkled as if they had not been changed from previous guest, and made me feel bit uneasy.
I had called to check before booking and was told very easy to get taxi, i had to wait 20 minutes the first day.
Breakfast is only served to 9:30 and this to me is very poor service. When I arrived right before 10, the lady had already moved all the food into the kitchen. When I stood there and looked surprised about it being over by 9:30, and expressed the fact i was hungry, and the bagels and danishes sitting right in front of me, she didnt even offer that i could grab something.
Clearly not interested in satisfying a customers need.

Even if I sleep very well, I was not comfortable with the overall experience. This location feels very old, the renovations are ok, but there is something not quit right
Hard say exactly...felt like a good super 8 not H express.
Bed was very unstable, I had to switch to the other one that was not very good but better. I was happy that I book only 1 night
The second one I went to the Hampton in just 15 minutes away.
Now that was a good place to stay!
Also no hot water for about 10 minutes in the shower. I was just about to give up when it arrived :(

When calling we asked for two double beds and cot which they stated they could provide, but when we checked in they did not have it available. They gave us King size bed with pull out coach to fit all five of us. It would have worked if the pull out coach wasn't so small. Very short and narrow. Not very comfortable. Other than that the breakfast was great and the room was clean.
