We had a minor problem whilst staying at the hotel and nothing proved too much for the staff. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends August 21, 2013

There is a great pub nearby as well where you can get food as the hotel does not have a restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again. August 20, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Could have been better, in truth Stayed at the hotel for one night, using two rooms - one for our selves and other for our grown-up son. Positives: handy for main routes, friendly staff, one room excellent in every way, clean and tidy. Negatives: the other room was not good ( a bag had been left in it!), breakfast was decidedly average and looked a bit 'tired' (fair enough, we took breakfast towards the end of the allotted times, but still .....) Overall - OK all in all, but not that great when paying what is really quite a lot of money! We've been here before and will probably visit again, and hopefully it'll be up to normal standard next time! August 16, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room was excellent with expected facilities and the bed was very comfortable We stayed for 3 nights and had an excellent time and would recommend to all our family & friends. This is our second stay and have been very impressed with the overall service received. This venue is only few minutes from the centre of Inverness which can be accessed by taxi or the local bus service. The rooms were cleaned everyday to a very high standard. Great meeting roon & now free wifi....back in january 2014. This is one of our many stop overs on an 11 week sales trip.& is one of the best August 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Another comfortable night's stay at the Holiday Inn Express. My friend booked this the first I stayed here. I was so impressed that I returned when I had to visit Inverness on a shopping trip for my daughter's forthcoming wedding. All staff are always very pleasant, rooms are spotlessly clean and above all, it's very quiet - great night's sleep on both occasions, with comfy beds. Good breakfast and nice pub across the car park which serves excellent food. Ample onsite parking, easy to find and a stone's throw from the city centre. I often visit Inverness for shopping trips, theatre, music concerts etc. and due to the distance from my home - 120 miles - I have to stay overnight. I will book here regularly now if I can. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice standard hotel handy for Inverness A good place to stay for access to Inverness centre but without the parking problems of being in the city centre Everything was of a good standard but the staff could have been more eager to help when we had trouble with the lock on the bedroom door. They came upstairs with reluctance to sort out the problem. Otherwise a good standard, clean, comfortable and a nice breakfast. July 27, 2013

I've stayed in the holiday inn express several times in inverness in the past & never had any complaint. its easy to get to, ample parking, breakfast is included, rooms are as you would expect clean & comfortable! however I do have a complaint in that I booked online for 4 nights, I had to extend my stay by 1 night which I did via reception as there was availability at the time. the night before I checked to see if I would have to change room & booking to be found! I did not receive even an apology for the error nor any follow up when I spoke to the gentleman on reception-I was simply told ' well we have no availability now,i can get someone to call you if you leave your number' #im still waiting# inverness is a busy place book online in advance! my experience is unfortunate but I have been back-not all of the staff are as rude as the gentlemen I spoke with July 20, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just one issue - at checkout A cautionary note for guests who are not from the UK and who are paying with a credit card that does not charge a foreign transaction currency conversion fee: Make sure you tell checkout staff upfront that you want to pay in pounds rather than in your home currency. Our Chase Priority Club VISA card does not charge any foreign transaction currency conversion fees. Before I could stop her, our checkout clerk set up our bill to be paid in dollars and hit the agree button for me, so we got hit with the only conversion fee we paid over our 23 day Scotland trip. I wrote it off as a mistake by an inexperienced staffer, but if you have had a lengthy stay the currency conversion fee could come as a surprise. Other than that, we have nothing but positives to say about our stay at this hotel. The location was excellent for us, easy to find right on the A96, nice pub right across the car park, small shopping area with a large Tesco within a very short walk. The room, amenities, cleanliness, and staff all met the standards we have come to expect from a Holiday Inn. The breakfast area was very well attended. We were a few minutes late for breakfast one morning, but the lady who was clearing asked what we wanted and brought it back out for us. While we were there the hotel got free in room WiFi (perhaps it was only for Priority Club Platinum members at that time), but free WiFi in the breakfast area had worked well for us. July 4, 2013

However I did not appreciate getting quoted an unfair price upon my arrival at reception. Once this was sorted out it was plain sailing for the remainder of my stay. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Least favorite Holiday Inn in Scotland We just finished a 2 week vacation in Scotland, and have to say that this was my least favorite Holiday Inn of the bunch. Holiday Inn is usually my preferred place to stay when on business or while on vacation. Platinum members are usually treated fairly well on top of that. but for one reason or another one of the male front desk employee was downright rude and snotty on more than one occasion during our stay. On top of that, the room was small and crowded (even by Scottish standards), and the double bed was a fold out twin, and one of my kids slept on the floor. The free internet that was advertised, wasn't free. Most US holiday Inn's provide free Internet. In several of the Holiday Inn's in Scotland, we were asked to pay stupid amounts for just an hour of internet. They would do well to adopt the US standard of providing something that is relatively inexpensive to them, and include cost in the rate, or just use it an amenity. At a minimum, don't advertise it as free, then try to charge what would be a months worth of internet cost in the states, for just an hour usage. Just so I don't sound like a whiner, most of the hotels were great (Holiday Inn's in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and my absolute favorite in East Kilbride (Glasgow)). Some of these were purchased on points while others were paid for. Why this particular employee was so rude, and this one hotel under-performed, I have no idea. June 19, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Challenging I normally stay at Holiday Inns and this is the first one which did not live up to normal expectations. The kettle in the room did not work. On telling the receptionist her response was oh I can't deal with that now. Later in the day found new large kettle in the room. The hair dryer did not work so used my daughters. Asked the lady in the breakfast area for some more coffee for my room to be told they only had decaffeinated sachets. The reception staff were lovely as usual but there did seem to be very few other staff. I twice met a cleaner with cart trying to get into the lift as I was trying to get out. The room was very dusty and not as clean as I had, had at previous stays in other Holiday Inns. Searched for the remote for the tv to find it eventually in the corner of the room on the floor. Did email customer service about things but have not received a reply as yet two weeks since my stay. June 15, 2013

Of the 4 different Holiday Inn Expresses that I stayed at while in the UK, this was the best. NEVER stay at the Preston, UK location. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for your money We arrived at the Holiday Inn in Inverness tired after a long day on the road. The bed was comfortable, a selection between a soft and firm pillow. We were close to the motorway but heard no noise from the cars. The front desk staff were professional and also recommended the restaurant across the parking lot from them for dinner. There was a variety of breakfast food, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold cereal, porridge, yogurt, fruit, etc. Easy check out. June 7, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for a Pit Stop! I needed a room after driving up from London and you can usually depend on Holiday Inn for a clean comfortable bed. I booked on line 12 hours in advance. The hotel was easy to find just off a busy road and it was just as I expected. Welcoming, clean and reasonably quiet. There is a good bar just yards from the hotel that serves meals and I ate there before turning in - recommended. On the basis that this was simply a bed/room for the night it was ideal. Minor issues; the kettle in the room did not work and the plug in the sink didn't either. On a positive note there was breakfast in the morning - hot and cold options from a buffet. Given the price, the flexible availability, the cleanliness, welcoming staff and breakfast I thought this was a very good deal and I would use this hotel again. I can't comment on proximity to the city as I didn't go. I drove straight back to London! April 18, 2013
