I really appreciate having a refrigerator in the room, but this one looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for a long time. The only other concern was that the tub & sink drains worked very slowly.

Other than the bathroom fan sounding like a jet plane taking off or just idling it was a good stay I was able to work and relax. The two best parts of the hotel were the breakfast in the morning and the pool/hot tub area! Very nice!!

The room had pellow top beds that were so comfy, and you can make any amount of pancakes fresh in the pancake machine.

Room was in the best condition it could be. They are slightly dated, but well taken care of. The breakfast in the morning is amazing. The staff was lack luster, however they met all of my needs. Overall I would recommend this Holiday Inn to any business person or any one passing thru.

The room temperature was a bit difficult to control with thermostat. I wanted to turn it off completely, which I could not do. The night was a bit chilly but, I did not want the heat on (dry issues) and I was not able to turn air/heat off.

the evening reception is a very nice touch. Good clean rooms, friendly people at checkin and the kind people working the evening reception and morning breakfast make this a welcoming place to stay. I always stay at the Janesville Holiday Inn when in the area. Nothing else beats it.

The service was really exceptional and the only negative area was with breakfast.
I stayed here for about 3 week this trip and didn't have the time to talk to the manager about these issues.
I've enjoyed the HI cinnamon rolls for over 12 years and feel I'm very familiar with their Continental Breakfast set-up. I've come to expect to find hot cinnamon rolls in their covered containers, side by side. Maybe if a large crowd is present, a third may be stacked on top of the two containers until the crowd is reduced.
However, this location chooses to stack five containers, three high, under the heat lamps which seemed to be quite excessive and causes quality problems. I found that when the top container was empied, another was placed on top. I didn't notice if they were rotated, but it didn't seem so. One mornings when I took a roll from the top container I found that the roll was crispy and so hard that my plastic knife had difficulty cutting it!
This seem to be a very lazy way to manage these rolls each morning-especially since there is a attendant. I've seen other locations manage breakfast activities, large and small, with just the two containers on the warmer-well managed by the attendant.
I find that the stacking of 5 containers, three high, causes those closest to the heat lamps to over cook and those lower to dry out which caused the quality to slump when again heated and served the next day.
I don't know if this procedure is a policy of the hotel or the attendant, but since other locations manage it, this one certainly could do so also.
Also, the cereal carousel was so wobbly that it seemed it was ready to fall apart. I made this known to the desk upon checking out last week. I can't immagine an attendant accepting the wobbly condition to be normal...especially with the two or three different attendants I saw over my stay.
