Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed Maid service was not so good at leaving towels. First day arriving we had 4 towels of each. Second day was only given 2 towels of each and another day they did not give us any handtowels. I would recommend giving 4 towels because most women like 2 towels, one for your hair and one for your body. July 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Renovation,But , forgot to check the work I've stayed here many times over the last 27 years. The renovation was badly needed. Looks pretty good.Had a frig and microwave. Nice. The breakfast area was great improvement added space gve more privacy and comfort. There were somethings that should've been fixed and inspected before our stay. And not rely on other guests to report them. Who whats someone in your room fixing stuff when you're paying for relaxation and comfort. Overall staff was nice. They're moving in the right direction. July 13, 2014

There was a issue checking in but was resolved and after that issue we had no complaints. The staff was helpful although it appeared to be a bit short handed. Over all if I am staying in Janesville I would certainly stay again. July 8, 2014

I am sure it will be fantastic once it is all complete :-) Fire alarm going off at 5:15 in the morning - not my idea of a great stay. No one knew what to do, we all just stood in the hall way. Approx 15 minutes until someone got through to the front desk and we were told to was not a fire. Could not get back to sleep :-( Staff was friendly. July 3, 2014

Now that the renovations to the rooms, lobby and breakfast areas are done, it seems like a new facility. The new furniture in the room is very functional and attractive. The renewed bathroom was very well done. We especially like the walk in shower, which for us older folks is a lot easier and safer than climbing over the edge of the tub. Thank you June 24, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't plan on staying here again. hotel was under contruction, glue or some sticky substance all over elevator floors and in hallways outside, in some cases almost pulling your shoes off. My room was apparently recently rennovated, but I realliy didn't like it. The color choices were funky, the hidden fridge was VERY annoying (have to open two doors to get inside, and it's not clear which side the doors open from. Apparently you are expected to sleep in broad day light because you cannot close teh light blocking curtains. The track for them only sits at the outside edges of the windows, so those light blocking curtains are only their for decoration. Furthermore, there is a very annoying lighted headboard that I could not find a way to shut off. I didn't get the point of that at all. And between the two light sources, the room was always too bright. The 3rd floor ice maker makes enough noise to scare the dead. The front lobby is a big open area that they don't seem to know what to do with. The first couple of days, it was just open (which is just fine). There is an electric fire place on one side that is kind of interesting. The next couple of days, they put patio furniture in the lobby, pretty much right in the way of traffic flow. None of these things really seemed to quality for things I'd contact customer service to try to correct other than maybe telling me how to unplug the headboard light, but it wouldn't have mattered with the curtain situation. The only positives I have at my stay are that my room was clean, the bathroom was VERY clean, my door keys worked every time, and the breakfast selection was good. I don't plan on staying here again next time I go to Janesville. June 23, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Check in poor, room dirty We were very disappointed with the check in commotion when we arrived. It was not busy but the staff was extremely uncaring if we were checked in or not. When we questioned why the rate was $20 more than when we stayed last year she said the renovations have to be paid for someway. Then, on to the room....last year was satisfactory. This year the room was generally unclean which was evidenced by dust on the furniture, especially the tv stand and the desk chair had so much junk on the seat we had to place a towel on it before we dared to sit on it. Truly not to the standards we have come to appreciate at Holiday Inn Express. June 22, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Remodel BUT!!! I liked the newly remodeled Janesville Holliday IN Express, but they were still having some problems that affected the guests. I went to get some ice on the 3rd floor and the machine wasn't working. I went to the 2nd floor and the ice machine wasn't working. I had to go to the 1st floor to get any ice. The outlets on one side of my bed weren't working. I guess during the remodel someone disconnected it and forgot to reconnect the outlet. June 17, 2014

They have a VERY large parking lot which was perfect for me as I was driving a 40' bus despite being directly adjacent to the interstate and my room being on that side of building it was very quite. I will say this there is a truck stop across the driveway probably 400 yards or so away it didn't bother me as I am a truck driver but just FYI over all great place and highly recommended June 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfort and convenience with great staff We stayed at this Holiday Inn Express in preparation for Fireside Play and it was excellent; outstanding staff, comfortable room and we felt safe; had some problems with TV, but staff solved to complete satisfaction.. Breakfast was better than most and was happy to learn that they had "happy hour in the pm". Overall, a great experience in a newly remodeled facility. Very comfortable and clean. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stay The stay was wonderful. My kids enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the hot tub. The pool temperature was perfect which made the swim bearable. Typically indoor pools are too cold. The breakfast wasn't exactly high quality but there were plenty of healthy options and the breakfast staff were extremely helpful. The only suggestion to make this stay even better (and for future customers): The happy hour (which includes free popcorn/beer/sodas/wine) was from 5-630 pm which I found to be a little weird since that is typically a person's dinner time. I would have found it a lot more helpful if the time frame was moved up a little bit from about 3-530 when people are checking in and it's a little too early for supper yet the stomach needs a little snack to carry over until dinner time. Regardless, the gesture of actually having free popcorn and drinks for people is wonderful customer service. The rooms were clean, updated and the beds were so comfortable. The overall appearance of the hotel was modern and beautiful. This new renovation is a huge change from the previous look. We stayed at this hotel approximately 5 years ago and had excellent customer service at that time as well. Thank you. June 9, 2014

The staff was very friendly, and even more helpful when we had questions about where to go for certain services. The hotel looks very elegant in the main entrance, and still elegant through out the entire hotel to the room. The breakfast is plentiful, and there are many choices to choose from as far as food an beverages. The hotel offered a "free happy hour" on the Monday we were there, and it was fantastic. They literally have a bar tender popping pop corn and serving wine and beer to guests. Unbelievably generous. June 5, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New hotel! Would recommend, convenient location I liked how this was a newer hotel. The bed was soft and comfortable. Convenient location for us. A couple of suggestions, simply because it is new and I don't think have been noticed yet: The hot tub water was uncomfortably hot. Like, VERY HOT. A few people couldn't stay long in it because of it being very HOT. I stayed in a King suite with a pullout sofa. The sofa was perpendicular to the bed. When having to use the pullout, can't do so because it bumps into the built in end tables. We had to move the couch to be parallel to the bed to be able to use the pull out bed. I would stay here again, friendly staff, especially those that prepared the breakfast. Convenient location, soft beds, great water pressure. It was still being worked on, but no noise really. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst ever If you don't want your card key to work more than 60 percent of the time making you go down to have it redone - go here If you like to not see out of a clean window -go here If you don't want your coffee maker to work - go here If you don't need your room temperature to go below 72 degrees - go here I you want a shower head to fall down all the time - go here. I needed to get PVC and cable ties to keep it up! If you don't want you door to close properly -go here If you want to be kept up until 0300 because of noise -go here On the bright side (the only one) the breakfast person and food were above average Honestly though this was one of the worst HIE I have been during my entire traveling career. Hopefully the management will make corrective action. May 30, 2014

They are so quick in replacing low items and actually pick up the guests plates for them...I expect to "bus my own table" at these types of breakfast but they are too quick! The pillows are way too long. Seemed difficult to get used to but once I did they were fine. Our air conditioner in the room went out and they were VERY quick to replace. Maintenance staff are wonderful. May 28, 2014
