Dirty, worn-out, scantily decorated. I was surprised. The outside looks new and nice except for the crumbling parking lot. The inside was very sub-par to other Holiday Inns I've stayed in. If this is a franchise, they should take it away because it's really bad advertising for the Holiday Inn Express chain. Gross, dirty,

I'm writing this review mostly because my family was staying at this location and when I read the reviews, I really wanted to go to a competitor. I booked so I could be in the same building as my family and wow the reviews I read were way wrong. This place was perfect. It is older but has been kept up. It is clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was perfect. The location was so easy to find and I felt safe. I would stay again.

I stay at this hotel when I am in Jonesboro on business. I have stayed here several times int he past and when they were going through the interior renovations. Those renovations have been great to the common areas of the lobby and dining room. I do not thing the rooms have been updates in awhile. The bathroom was in need of some updates with the tub/shower area specifically. The finish on the tub was peeling off and the drain seemed to be either rusty or dirty, or both. I will continue to stay here when in Jonesboro, but, hopefully, the bathrooms will be updated.

My parents live in Jonesboro and I visit them 3-4 times a year and stay in a hotel. I tried the HI Express for the first and last time. I can only really comment on the room I stayed in, room 302. The mold was so bad in the shower/tub that it went up the wall in some spots up to 4 feet. And it was consistant all the way around the tub. My wife refused to shower. I also had an issue the way employees and guest smoke at the entrance. There is a bench not 5 feet from the door to accomodate this. And there was always some one on it. The guests had to search cabinets to find plates and silverware for breakfast. I pointed this out to the young man at the desk and his reponse was "Gotcha". He made no effort to find the stuff, just went back to reading his book. .
