Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Complete lack of Professional Courtesy This time I am actually leaving a review as they outdid themselves with poor service. 1 - Upon entering the building, no greeting, no smile, nothing but a blank stare from the twenty something guy that was apparently very proud of himself. Note to facility manager, if they can't at least be friendly, they dont need to work the front desk. 2 - No upgrade to a suite even though 3 were still available to book online( yes I checked after I went to my room). In fact after giving him my membership card, not a word. I actually kept the overpriced regular room this time just to see if they would check and offer. Well as Im sure you can guess...nothing. 3 - Not that I expect super service from everyone, but when working a customer service job, would it kill them to smile for just a second. Apparently so, as he kept his bored scowl for the entire check in session. Although he did ask if I was in town on business, when I told him the name of my company, he actually scoffed and said "never heard of it.". Not sure why a 23 year old would need to tell me that. It must have made him happy, because he actually smirked for a second after saying it. At least it broke the scowl for a second. 4 - the price for the room I ended up keeping was about 35 higher than rooms in newer HIExpress hotels I stay in regularly. This would not be a big issue if it was AT LEAST of equal size or value. No, it was a dark, small cave of a room and yet priced premium. 5 - the microwave in the room did not work. Small one I know, but it just added to the bad experience. 6 - If I don't get checked in by a manager at this location, I just cannot seem to get an ounce of courtesy and I definitely will not get an upgrade. I stay at a hotel 4 nights a week every week. If there is a target audience for these hotels...I'm it. This location is the reason I still divide my stays with other branded properties. This location is old and outdated, which could be charming if the staff actually treated you with courtesy. Although I will say the young African American woman working along side him seemed to be doing a nice job with her customer. Of course he seemed about her age and target type. Maybe thats the key to good service here, make sure you are in your twenties and looking to mingle. Ok, maybe I'm being too hard on these kids, as I went out to get some dinner later, they did seem happy and having a good time when they had no customers and were just joking around. Sorry guys, customers are still what keeps the doors open and the paychecks coming. Score : FAIL. November 10, 2014

The room was clean, but the age of the bathrooms made it seem dingy. The room was perfectly comfortable, and it was just fine for our quick one-night stay in Jonesboro. November 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff but Noisy Location The staff was friendly. The breakfast was better than the average HIE. The room was comfortable, but not very clean. There were pieces of someone else’s Cheetos on the floor around the edge of the bed. In almost any other location I would give this Holiday Inn Express a higher rating. The hotel’s primary problem is its proximity to the interstate. I’ve stayed here three times and had a room on the interstate side of the building every time. When I ask to be moved, they always tell me there are no rooms on the other side of the building. Or check back tomorrow, maybe we can move you then. It’s a busy hotel and I’m sure they won’t miss my business, but if I can’t sleep, then I cannot stay. November 10, 2014

The front desk and house keeping staff was excellent and made you feel welcome from the start, but Natalie in the Breakfast bar was outstanding. She went beyond normal duties to make your breakfast a great start of the day, asking if she could do anything else for you and if we needed anything else. Coffee and food was hot and appealing. Look forward to my return there. November 6, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and Friendly I stay in Jonesboro often and I enjoy staying here because of friendly staff, a great free breakfast with several choices, and clean rooms. The hotel is close to a family-friendly restaurant as well. I've never had a bad experience here. October 29, 2014
