I have stayed in Kalispell twice in the last 2 months and made a reservation in advance both times. The pro is that the hotel allows a pet, which is always nice and overall is a nice facility. My gripe is that despite making a reservation in advance and being told I had a king room on the first floor, with a door that exits onto the street...when I showed up to check in the room was not available as requested and told was available. I always follow the 3 strikes rule and am going to try it one more time. Really frustrating to make a reservations and then not have what you were told was available!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ValerieS1 Great service and pet friendly
We stayed at the Holiday Inn on the weekend before Black Friday and were really impressed with the staff and service. We had to meet someone on our day of checkout and the staff was thoughtful to let us stay past the checkout time so that we could have our meeting. The cleaning staff was very helpful and friendly. And being pet friendly, the staff (and guests) were really nice and accommodating.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mom1880 Unfortunate stay......
I have stayed at this Holiday Inn before and had an enjoyable experiences, however this time was not comfortable or relaxing. The front receptionist was very rude on our late check-in and only asked for my last name and credit card, with no other pleasantries or hotel information. It was not a positive interaction. Our room smelled like smoke and dirt. When I went to speak to the front desk, I overheard them complaining about another room who had called and how they don't tolerate complainers. So....with that we went to our room to hopefully quickly finish our stay. We make several trips to the Kalispell area and I will unfortunately not be returning to this hotel.

We stay at this hotel 3 or 4 times a year and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always extremely friendly from the time we walk in the front door. Any requests that we may have are always dealt with promptly and courteously. We have never felt like we were imposing on them by asking for something. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. My wife has a disability so a ground floor room with outside entry works well for us. When I told the front desk staff they created a profile for us to make sure we always get one of those rooms. We find the rooms very comfortable and feel like we are at home when walk through the door. Whenever we want a weekend away to "recharge our batteries" Holiday Inn Express in Kalispell is always on top of the list of destinations.

A negative was when I called in from the airport to be picked up by the shuttle. I waited outside in front of the baggage sign. About 25 minutes. Then I saw the van at the far end of the terminal approaching in the island lane as opposed to the curbside lane. So I got up from the bench and waved to the driver but she just dove by and went out to the highway exit. Not knowing what to think, I asked the Budget agent to call the hotel to tell them I was still there, Nobody picked me up. Then I noticed the van make another approach from the highway only to drive down the other side of the entry road I believe towards General Aviation, and disappeared for about 10 minutes. I again asked the Budget agent if she could call the hotel to communicate with the driver, and inform the driver again
That I was still waiting. Then I saw the van come back towards where I was waiting but not in the curb side lane but the island lane.
Well at least the driver noticed me this time, Because I waved again? Then the driver just sat there in the drivers seat, which is totally out of character for a shuttle service. So I had to get my heavy bag over to the van. She made no motion to get out of her seat. My bag weighed 55 pounds and I got it off the curb and rolled it to the other curb, then I presumed I was supposed to open the rear doors of the van and load my own bag. When I got the doors opened I immediately challenged her insensitivity for a senior and said this is a first for me, having to load my own Bag into the shuttle while the driver just sits there. Lethargically waiting for me to load up and staring in front of her. Not speaking other than to answer my inquiry to if she was new. I can't believe a hotel would send somebody like that to shuttle guests to the hotel, she was wedged into the seat and probably couldn't move she was an extra extra large lady overlapping the seat. We got there to the hotel and I got out to get my bag and she belined to the door to get it to apparently make a good show to the front desk. I told her I would get the bag but she continued to get it to the ground. I normally tip the driver coming and going but did not because the service was not there.
The room was a standard room but comfortable to a person who had just culminated a 45 hrs of flyingwith a 3 day break in Whitefish. I assure you of the many times I have stayed there in the past this was highly irregular . I would only fault the hotel if there was someone else to drive the van. Needless to say I went to bed to prepare for another International trip of 25 hrs to follow.
The front desk was sympathetic and courteous. I normally get an upgraded room when I stay there but the hotel was fairly full and it was not available. But, I would recommend this hotel highly to any considering a hotel in Kalispell.
