The staff were all great! Everyone i dealt with had a smile on their face and alway very kind, unfortunately that did not make up for the attention this property needed badly. The neighborhood also had plenty of dining options and great place to walk around and explore. I stayed 2 nights. On the first night the elevator was acting up, and for a few secondsi thought i was going to be stuck in therer for a while. Throughout the halls there are water stains and pieces of the ceiling popcorn falling off. It was embarassing when i brought a friend back to the hotel for some work and she was commenting about how run down this hotel was. When i went to lay down the first night the bed was leaning and i noticed that the box spring had fallen between the rails. the next day the engineer came up to "fix" the problem, but later that night when i went to lay down, i realized that the problem was not fixed. I spent 2 nights at this property and did not have a properly working bed neither of the nights. Never coming back to this property.

Stayed at this location during a 4 night visit.
Was very pleased with the hotel and its facilities.
Pro:Front Desk staff was very friendly and personable
Room size I was given was spacious, and clean
Had minor maintenance problem, hotel corrected it immediately.
There are a fair number of casual dining facilities within walking distance.
Would return to this hotel again
Con: (more caveat than con): The faucet in the bathroom sink was annoyingly slow. Upon inquiry, was told this was a green effort. However, there is green, and there is taking green to extreme. Shower water flow however was good. Water flow issue related to vanity/sink only.
Parking can on occasion create moments of anxiety. Although I was always able to find parking, there were times when it was a close call.
Overall, i would return to this hotel again without hesitation.

After reading some of the reviews, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The hotel was clean, updated, with cheerful, friendly staff. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with many different food items to choose from. The food was at the right temperature and attractively displayed with the dining area clean. We will definitely stay here again. The exercise room was even inviting.

I usually stay at this hotel when I am in KC because its close to Westport and its easy to hop a cab to go down town. The last time I was here the hotel let me down a little, the room was grungy, the fan/ac worked but the knob to turn it was broken. I tried to call for a wakeup call just to see that the phone was not plugged into anything. For the price I don't think it was worth it.

This is a slightly dated Holiday Inn Express that I have stayed at several times. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly. Although there is no pool, the location is very convenient for visiting all the best parts of Kansas City, especially for fun in the Westport area.

My friend and I get together twice yearly, and we always stay at the HI Express in Westport. We've always had great experiences here, beginning with an extremely helpful and friendly front desk staff. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, the breakfast is free and provides a good selection for just about anyone. We plan on staying there again this fall.

A fine hotel. Despite the terrible weather, all staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. I had no qualms about walking on the carpet barefoot, using the tub, or getting between the sheets. No funny carpet smells, no fuzzy corners, no worries. My request for Toilet paper was fulfilled before I could return to my room. Front desk very helpful, and friendly. All public areas of the hotel clean, as well. Very quiet, very safe.
