We would return to this HIE in a heartbeat. Clean & attractive room. Front desk staff very nice, quick and informative. Great recommendation for dinner! (Billie Gene's) Hotel is set back from the road so not too easy to find - just behind the Cracker Barrel.

Arrived to see that the hotel was under renovation. That in it self wasn't bad. The guy at the front desk seemed more concern with other things than to acknowledged that I was a priority club member . I was early and allowed for that. I was told that it would be about 45 minutes before he could have a room ready. I went out and finished up some things to give them time to get the room ready. Came back an hour later, still not ready, I asked if they had any upgraded rooms available, no that they would not up grade me to that level of room. So an hour and a half later I finally got a room. Once inside the room, I discovered the ice box did not work. I called downstairs and spoke to a different desk person since the first one went home, she move me to an upgraded room at no extra cost.
I was told that the reason for the slow turn around of the rooms was they were short handed. They have three floors,and one was down for renovation, I guess that meant that the other two floors were too much for the on hand staff to managed.

Although the hotel was in the process of remodeling the check-in & check out was easy. The staff was very friendly and gave us an excellent recommendation for an evening dining meal at The Cracker Barrel which is next door. The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent view of Kerrville. Lots of pillows - ample fresh towels and a clean bath room area. Right away we found the toliet would not flush properly and the shower head was frozen in place but using some home plumbing techniques we adjusted them and put both in good working condition. The breakfast area was bright and clean. Plus to our surprise they had regular scrambled eggs and not those YUCKY! standard folded egg omelets with cheese.The scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs plus the biscuits and sausage were very tasty and the gravy was just right - thick with lots of chipped beef. The cinnamon rolls and muffins were fresh & warm and there was an excellent variety of cereals with fruit and yogurt. Also, a variety of healthy juices and lots of good hot coffee .
We're looking forward to our next stay at the HI in Kerrville..

Stay at several Holiday Inns with consistently good results. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet the standard.
At check in my keys did not work. Was on the third floor with a cart full of baggage that could not be left in hall. Once i was in t room the televiion remote did not work.
Next AM I discovered no plumbing fixture on the tub faucet. Nothing but bare threaded pipe. Could not shower with no shower valve...bad hair day.

It is anold hotel where all the furniture were in bad shape, very expensive for what I received.
I never thought Holiday would allow a franchise to be this bad.

The staff made this property, everyone was very kind and helpful, couldn't have asked for more.
Room was very clean, it's showing some age especially in the bathroom but tolerable.
The hotel IS under remodel, the entire 3rd floor is in the process. The noise wasn't an issue however, I'd have liked to know if advance so I could decide to stay there or go to a nearby HI Express.
The pool and hot tub are not accessable and especially the hot tub was full of green algae and sludge. Very unsightly out the balcony.
If you're a light sleeper the I-10 noise might be an issue.

We have stayed here for several years and always enjoy this property. This year they were remodeling and we couldn't get "our" room but had one that was just as nice. We like that they offer smoking rooms and have the balconies in many rooms. The property is always clean (even during renovations), there is a guest laundry and their breakfast room is nice and large. The suites are great with an extra room and the bedroom area is huge - king or two queen rooms. They have fridges and micros in the rooms too. We intend to make this an annual stop on our way south. During our trip north to south, then south to west this is one of the oldest facilities (HIE) that we stayed in. The employees were great, but have a lot of old stuff to overcome. We have been staying at HIE because of their typically top notch facilities-this is not one of them.

Have stayed here on two different occasions in January with a good experience. Breakfast choices were adequate. Have stayed in Kerrville multiple times over the past 5 years and enjoy this hotel the best.

We've stayed at the Kerrville HIEx several times on trips between Houston and El Paso. The rooms are HUGE, comfortable and their pricing has always been great. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. It beats San Antonio for price and quiet.

We were able to obtain a late check-out so we could attend church services and come back to change clothes before hitting the road.
Also, the breakfast had ample gluten -free choices, which is a must for me.

Room was comfortable. First night very nice; however, second night people in room above us apparently had kids and no control over them. It sounded like a playground and gymnastics going on - jumping off bed, running until about midnight. A call to the front desk was of no help.
Food first day, okay but not up to the typical standards we are accustomed to in a Holiday Inn Express. Second day, the food experience was not good at all - way below standard.

Great hotel!! Great staff. Hotel is set back off the road, kinda secluded. Very peaceful. I love the signature cinnamon rolls that Holiday Inn Express serves. It's worth staying there just for those!!

This is a clean, comfortable hotel. Really appreciate being able to get a smoking room (believe it or not there are still some smokers out there!) Staff was friendly & efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. Laundry facilities more than adequate. Only thing I think could be improved would be the size and quality of the TV (would have liked a flat screen/bigger), we were stuck in the room for several days due to cold & rain (traveling on a motorcycle) and a nicer TV would have been appreciated.If going to thishotel, I'd like to note that it is off the road and up a hill and the sign by the road is very small!!!

I HAVE STAYED IN THIS HOTEL SEVERAL TIMES..IT HAS A SET OF DOUBLE DOORS WHEN YOU ARRIVE THAT ARE NOT AUTOMATIC..SO UNLESS SOMEBODY IS HOLDING THEM OPEN FOR YOU AND YOU HAVE LUGGAGE,PREPARE TO STRUGGLE..THE HOTEL DOE'S NOT HAVE PORTABLE LUGGAGE RACKS TO SET YOUR LUGGAGE ON..THE ELEVATOR BROKE DOWN FOR A FEW HOURS AND MY WIFE ,WHO HAS A BUM LEG HAD TO WALK UP THE STAIRS..THE ROOM I WAS IN HAD A BLOOD SMEAR ON ONE OF THE WHITE CURTAINS..IT WAS VERY EASY TO SEE..MY ROOM WAS GOOD..THE STAFF WAS GOOD..THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN..THE FOOD WAS JUST LIKE YOU GET AT EVERY OTHER EXPRESS..ACCEPTABLE...

We tried to make reservations for this hotel using points, but were told that all the rooms were taken that could be purchased with points. This is even though Priority Club says that there are no black out dates. Maybe so, but this is the second time I have tried to use points to stay at Holiday Inn this year and have been unable to for the same reason. I earned the points and should be able to cash them in, ANYTIME. I can understand if all the rooms are filled due to a special event, but to say that you can't cash in on an earned night is the same as a blackout. Call it what you will, that's a blackout.
We also experienced issues with the elevator when we arrived. It was not in service and we had to lug our stuff up and down the stairs. Inconvenient, but life happens on occasion. I can deal with that, but I have a real problem with the points issue. Any independent hotel manager can claim that his "points rooms" have been used up at any time. Priority Club pays the Hotel for the nights. Why can't they be cashed in?

We stayed in a suite which was very spacious. Everything was clean and our bed was comfortable. We enjoyed most everything about our four night stay including breakfast and the friendly, helpful staff.
The work out area leaves a little to be desired but at least they had a treadmill.
I gave staff/service a "good" simply because my room was never cleaned before 2 PM each day which was a problem for us. But, to the hotel's credit I did not complain. We would stay here again and if needed would request we be earlier on the cleaning list.
