The staff was pleasant and helpful taking time to answer questions, checking us in early, and giving directions. We enjoyed the rustic décor of the lobby. The hotel is convenient to the main street, restaurants and shops. Parking can be a challenge.
The coffee was very weak and watery tasting. Each morning our group would hope it would improve - but it did not. The breakfast room was too small to accommodate the number of guest.
Because the breakfast room was so busy the staff was unable to keep up with replenishing the food and keeping the tables clean.
Over all it was a good stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 great room poor service
The hotel was very clean, the room was great but it lacked information. There was no folder in the room explaining how to use the phones. What time breakfast was etc. Tried calling desk for info. Buttons didn't work on phone. Went down to desk and they told me the housekeeping button, wake up call button, front desk button didn't work. Had to dial 0. No were in the room did it tell you this. The night before we were leaving I tried to call the front desk to leave a wake up call, we had a 6:30 am flight. The phone rang 15 times and no one picked it up. I set the clock in the room and gratefully it worked. The next morning a bill was waiting under our door. It stated we can leave the room key in the room or bring it to the front desk. I brought it to the front desk, and guess what, no one was there. A little sign said at that time a day the receptionist would be in the dining room, so I left the keys on the counter.

The room was quiet and clean. We asked for two rooms near each other and this request was honored. It was nice to be close enough to walk downtown for dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Keystone.
What was the most impressive was the person who checked us in at the front desk, Brandyn.
He was such a nice and friendly young man. He made great recommendations for dinner, as well as just having a very personable attitude.
If he didn't live so far away, we would have tried to recruit him for my husband's business.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by VisitorAug2013 Leaking windows
We have stayed in many Holiday Inn/Express hotels using our Reward points which is a great service. However, this particular hotel was the worst we have stayed in. Overall the rooms could do with a refurbishment (the pool area however was fantastic). During our three night stay there was a really heavy thunderstorm and it rained so hard it came through the top of the windows and leaked into the air conditioning unit. This was brought to the Reception staff's attention and we were told that we could ask for more towels to mop up the rain if needed - which we had to do! When we left it was mentioned that the manager would be in touch to refund some of our points - we are still waiting.

Excellent time at the Keystone facility, pool area was very nice area to relax in after walking around the town.
Breakfast was very good, hot and always refilled before the items were even low.
All the employees my wife and I dealt with were awesome, including all the questions about the area and what to do.

Vacation trip from the Twin Cites to Sante Fe and back through Keystone brought us to the Holiday Inn Express. We have been here before. The room was quite nice. The king bed was comfortable, could use better quality pillows. Chairs at the sitting area of room could be higher. Tried to sit there and the table came to my chin. The bathrooms were clean and up to date. New couch/hide a bed. Staff was very helpful. Beautiful area to see the sites. I would go back again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TriFive Quiet room. Close to Mt. Rushmore.
The hotel is quiet and close to the Main Street of Keystone. All of the attractions in Keystone are within walking distance. Mt. Rushmore is only a five minute drive away. Room was expensive paid much less on our trip for similar rooms.

Stayed in this Hotel because it had the most flexible cancellation policy of the hotels in Keystone. Great location, could walk to downtown, but tucked away off a quite street. Nice clean rooms and a great free breakfast buffet.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice home base to see Rushmore and other attractions. My daughter also liked the hotel lobby which had many stuffed animals.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jtex67 Suite?
The room I booked was described as a king suite w/ sofa bed. Well there was a king bed and a sofa bed. But placing the sofa in a nook between the door and the bed does not constitute a suite. So if you are looking for a suite, this is not the place for you. The breakfast, staff and cleanliness were all up to par. The parking was a challenge as the spaces in front if the hotel are not the hotels property. You are instructed to go out to the parking and look for a spot and if there isn't one the staff will help you. The staff ja to park me in a hole by the business next door but still in the lot. Overall decent hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KidsNoHarley Very nice for the Black Hills
I was amazed at how quiet our room was. Keystone itself was very, very loud because we came during the Sturgis rally, but we couldn't hear any of it in the room. Everything was nice and clean. Breakfast didn't vary much, but it was fine. I was hoping for waffles, but they had biscuits and gravy instead. It was expensive for the area, but it was also a lot nicer than most of the other motels. I was surprised when I got charged for the room when I made the reservation. The cleaning staff forgot the coffee one day, but gave us extra the next, so that was okay. They sent coffee up the day they forgot. They even put towels out for the people to clean their motorcycles with. The pool was clean and nice.

We want to thank the staff for making our stay a great experience. . . not only there, . . .but helping us plan our future dates at the Durnago hotel.
Starting at the top with the General Manager Cassie, Asst. Manager Laura, and support staff . . . Taryn, Lawanda, and Jacob. From needing access to internet for work on the road. . . to everything we could possibly ask for . . . they were the best!! The Staff were Very kind, Understanding, and Friendly!! It made it easy to choose the Holiday Inn as we went on our way. The room was Beautiful and comfortable. A home away from home. Can't thank them enough for a great stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ROD50 NOT GOOD VALUE
After travelling on the road for 3 weeks from LA, we were disappointed to find that this was our most expensive hotel and provided the least facilities in the room. There was no refrigerator in the room and nowhere to make tea.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious, but for the cost, it represented only poor value.

We had a nice stay. The location is excellent, so close to Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Needles Hwy & Mammoth Museum in Hot Springs.
The pool was nice & there are laundry facilities. Our only complaint was the rattle of the air conditioner but we were so exhausted each day we fell quickly to sleep.
