Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great stay in a prejudice state The hotel and all the staff at the Keystone Holiday Inn were helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. They offered a map that was changed and noted depending on what you wanted to do or see that day. The hotel was clean and well stocked with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, and cups with lids to take your coffee with you. April 20, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Keystone We come to the Black Hills quite often but this is the first time we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Keystone. Usually we stay in Hill City but because of the date, Hill City was not available. We have always been happy with the Holiday Inn Express' so when I found out it was open in Keystone I booked it right away. We stay at Holiday Inn Express because we know they will be clean and they are always friendly. April 10, 2014

The lobby was clean and nicely decorated to compliment the natural beauty that surrounds this property. The cleanliness of the guest room, including the bathroom, was amazing. I even pulled furniture out to see what was behind or underneath the furniture and found nothing! Breakfast was much better than anticipated as we generally don't eat breakfast. March 31, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good room, challenging parking, great location I stayed here two nights to visit a couple of national parks in the area. For visiting Mount Rushmore, this property's location can't be beat - it takes maybe six or seven minutes tops to get to the park entrance from walking out of the hotel. It is a busy location. There were lots of families with kids around the pool area. If you're looking for a dead-quiet place to chill out, this isn't the Holiday Inn location I'd recommend. The rooms are as quiet as you can expect and on par with other Holiday Inns and HI Expresses. The room was well maintained, the bed was comfortable, and the cleaning staff was very good. No upgrade as a Platinum member, but there may not be a room type to upgrade to at the property. Breakfast fare is the typical Holiday Inn Express food. The primary downside of the property is that parking is a little thin. There aren't a ton of spaces on-property. I was fortunate to find on-property parking when I needed it, but it's conceivable that you need to park on the street. The off-property parking apparently has lots of signs, restrictions, and is backed up by the city who apparently has the towing companies trained like vultures circling a wounded animal. The staff warned me of this and it pays to be mindful of the parking restrictions. If you're OK with lots of families with kids and/or need a closer hotel to Mount Rushmore, I definitely give this location a thumbs-up. November 13, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It was Fine I was expecting a bit more from this property as the photos made it seem a bit more of a luxury hotel than it turned out to be. There were a few problems with our stay. The elevator door would only close if you walked out of the elevator than jumped back in before the door closed. I used the stairs after the first two times. Also our toilet would run unless you flushed it twice. We told the people at the desk and they wrote down a message to check and get it fixed. I assume that they did. The desk staff was nice enough, but I've had much friendlier at most other hotels. The free breakfast was sufficient, but again, I've had much better. If the price was right, I would stay here again, but I wouldn't pay extra for it. November 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Over All Accomadations The staff was pleasant and helpful taking time to answer questions, checking us in early, and giving directions. We enjoyed the rustic décor of the lobby. The hotel is convenient to the main street, restaurants and shops. Parking can be a challenge. The coffee was very weak and watery tasting. Each morning our group would hope it would improve - but it did not. The breakfast room was too small to accommodate the number of guest. Because the breakfast room was so busy the staff was unable to keep up with replenishing the food and keeping the tables clean. Over all it was a good stay. September 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 great room poor service The hotel was very clean, the room was great but it lacked information. There was no folder in the room explaining how to use the phones. What time breakfast was etc. Tried calling desk for info. Buttons didn't work on phone. Went down to desk and they told me the housekeeping button, wake up call button, front desk button didn't work. Had to dial 0. No were in the room did it tell you this. The night before we were leaving I tried to call the front desk to leave a wake up call, we had a 6:30 am flight. The phone rang 15 times and no one picked it up. I set the clock in the room and gratefully it worked. The next morning a bill was waiting under our door. It stated we can leave the room key in the room or bring it to the front desk. I brought it to the front desk, and guess what, no one was there. A little sign said at that time a day the receptionist would be in the dining room, so I left the keys on the counter. September 25, 2013

He was such a nice and friendly young man. He made great recommendations for dinner, as well as just having a very personable attitude. If he didn't live so far away, we would have tried to recruit him for my husband's business. September 3, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Leaking windows We have stayed in many Holiday Inn/Express hotels using our Reward points which is a great service. However, this particular hotel was the worst we have stayed in. Overall the rooms could do with a refurbishment (the pool area however was fantastic). During our three night stay there was a really heavy thunderstorm and it rained so hard it came through the top of the windows and leaked into the air conditioning unit. This was brought to the Reception staff's attention and we were told that we could ask for more towels to mop up the rain if needed - which we had to do! When we left it was mentioned that the manager would be in touch to refund some of our points - we are still waiting. August 27, 2013

Breakfast was very good, hot and always refilled before the items were even low. All the employees my wife and I dealt with were awesome, including all the questions about the area and what to do. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel Vacation trip from the Twin Cites to Sante Fe and back through Keystone brought us to the Holiday Inn Express. We have been here before. The room was quite nice. The king bed was comfortable, could use better quality pillows. Chairs at the sitting area of room could be higher. Tried to sit there and the table came to my chin. The bathrooms were clean and up to date. New couch/hide a bed. Staff was very helpful. Beautiful area to see the sites. I would go back again. August 25, 2013
