Holiday Inn was not at the top of my list to stay at when we stopped. That changed after this stay. We had an issue with the room during the night that I brought to the Manager's attention the next morning. She was so attentive and showed how she cared about her customers.
The lobby was so inviting. We really enjoyed their indoor pool and the breakfast was the best we had at a hotel our entire trip. It even had cheese omelets.
Thank you staff.

First, I'm a platinum elite member, I started using IHG properties last year, Thailand, Miami, Lousiana, Mexico city... and this is by far the worst experience with IHG, zero recognition, computer for member's check in was not working and manager made me wait 25 mins in line, usually my check in takes 30 second because contract is ready but this time I had to wait, they didnt greet me as a loyal customer at all, my room was in the first floor with a view of a SUV just 3 feet away from my window, ice machine was broke and when I asked for ice the front desk employee told me to go upstairs because that machine was working. all of this in a empty hotel !!!! low low season for Keystone, dont get me wrong, the location is amazing, 5 mins away from Mt Rushmore but you expect more from an IHG property. Pool is nice, breaksfast is average, service is poor. and no matter what, dont park in front of the hotel, that parking is for city employees only, around 40 parking spaces for employees of a 340 total population city, I was reminded about 10 times before I got my room keys. Seriously, the whole staff needs to be retrained.
The day after i went to Holiday Inn downtown Denver, what a difference... in a good way.

Booked two rooms for a family get-a-way. Wanted to have a single night to enjoy without the kids. Booked a double queen room with pullout for the kids and other family members, and a single king Jacuzzi room for the wife and I. Upon check-in, was told they overbooked, and that type of room was not available. No apology or offer of what they could do to make it right was offered. The young (seemed like a high school aged front desk attendant) person simply said "we put you in another room". For a large corporate hotel, and one fighting to get customers in this tourist area, this was simply UNACCEPTABLE! It was evident that the staff/manager could care less about their guests. FUTURE GUESTS BEWARE!!! I will make sure we never stay at this hotel in the future, even though it would have been a great place for repeat stays.
